  1. Poly bushings can go bad fast IF they are not greased when installed. I have seen a case where they pretty much shredded because no grease was between the bushing and the sleeve. As long as you grease em a little, your good to go! Jose
  2. http://www.rocky-road.com/pathfindersus.html they sell a 9/16" spacer from OME. don't know how much it cost, but maybe that? Jose
  3. Mine still a baby at 167000 miles. I drive it everyday. Had it for 2 years now. Had 147K when I bought it ( I don't drive very far, so 10K a year isn't much). But sadly I'm gonna have to rebuild soon. damn, does that mean that I have to start my milage count again? Jose
  4. Love the Audi! Bag ass turbo! One day I want to go single turbo on my RX-7 with a Garret GT3071R turbo making about 380HP (although I could run the stocks in parellel and make that much, it would push the limits, even with 99 spec turbos, and I want a reliable setup) I got a few. Like edicer2 I have a new house so i'm working on that. so far i ripped out all the carpet, discovered i had hardwood, so refinished that. Looks great. in process of ripping apart the bathroom for a complete re-do. I replaced countertops in kitchen. Have a long distance project going also. 1993 Mazda RX-7 R1 CYM. Blown motor and wire harness caught on fire, so i'm slowlt getting new parts. Problem is car is in Hawaii with my dad and I'm in VA (I'm in the Coast Guard). Shipping company won't ship a non-running car (they already want 3200 to ship. Would cost $1500 more fromo another company to ship it non-running!!) GGRRRR!! So car hasn't ran in a few years. But the list of mods for that car is: Custom made intakes Turbo back exhaust with resonator instead of a cat (need a new muffler though, it melted!!) Tokico 5 way shocks Racing Beat springs Hawk brake pads Blitz Blow off valve (went through a few to get the right one) Just got a Supra TT fuel pump to install when it runs again 18" Vertec wheels Kumho Ecsta tires (245/45 and 255/40) Full sound system (pioneer speakers and amp and Eclipse deck) Some gauges and a GReddy Turbo Timer Jose
  5. Not quite true. They fit the 96-00 R50's fine. For years after that I don't kow. I think you have to flip them or somehing. Time for some new beefy tires! Jose
  6. I don't think he means a whole tank. I think he means take a quarter of a tank, and he uses about 1/2-3/4 of that quarter tank of gas.
  7. If your hubs are locked, then you can put in auto. Once you unlock your hubs, stay away from auto, hell 4wd all together. Just keep this in mind. Locked=4WD OK Unlocked=NO 4WD at all Jose
  8. So custom coils don't need to settle?
  9. The 96-2000 R50 has VG33E. 2001-04 has VQ35DE The VG33E has a distributor that runs off one main coil. I'd say since it does it at idle, the coil might be going bad. Sounds like it doesn't get enough voltage at idle, but when the alt starts to spin up it gets enough to fire correctly, or just enouh not to misfire. My opinion. Jose
  10. that looks awesome!! jealous mucho much...
  11. Ive used the cans with great succes. Just make sure you have a ac pressure gauge.
  12. Its definately a rugged looking bumper. But remember its not what we like, it's what you like! Jose
  13. Topping out is not caused by the struts themselves, but by the AC 2" coils. Get KYB GR-2 Struts. Much better than Rancho struts. The shocks are fine to use. I haven't heard anyone complain about topping out with OME coils, but Fueler or Tyler might be able to chime in on that matter. Use OEM (not to be confused with OME) strut mounts and bearings. As for the HD, some people say that if you don't have a steel bumper, it can be really stiff. This also raises the front hight. If you don't plan on getting a front bumper (either a $1100 ARB or $520+ KMA) and you have a weak back, or are concerned with comfort than the mediums might be more your style. If you have the tools to assemble the struts, then by all means save yourself a few bucks and do it. If your not sure you can or can't, then a shop may be for you. Hope this helps. Jose
  14. I like that tube bumper there!! But I would say leave it on until the . It looks cool for a while, but later i think it would just get old and look like you drive a POS. But it is cool how it shows off the lift and tires!
  15. you could always just heat it up and mold it to go in more instead of cutting. I haven't reallyput much thought into this idea, but since my 15x10's rub the front, bee3n thinking about doing it. Jose
  16. Maybe so. I'm not an expert on it, or have knowledge from reading about it, so I speak from my mind only. But I'm still with you in finding some! Jose
  17. I'm just coming from the point that the bushings are really only to hold it in place. I'm sure it would help keep the bar more rigid in place, but it's not going to make it stiffer. Jose
  18. Yea, I haven't been able to find some either. Advanced auto didn't have what I needed. all other suspension, no problem, sway bars, a little difficult. But then, why do you really need poly bushings for the sway bars? doesn't really make that much of a difference at all. I'm sourcing because I Just want to know whats available for my truck. Jose
  19. Has the rear had a chance to settle? Seems really raked. Well, I guess its good if you bring a lot of gear on the trail, then it works out great. Still looks good though. I want an SFD so bad, damnit...Can't wait to start this second job to save!! Jose
  20. This is funny. A local radio station made a song about "Goons". Haha. Jose
  21. MPG improvement. I guess every little bit helps. efan, manual hubs, skids. I'm sure it can all add up to maybe 3-4 more mpg. But then getting a lift with some bigger tires doesn't really help, but it gets balanced right? Jose
  22. I take offense to that comment (pic in sig is my 3gen RX-7, which, by the way, already has electric fans). But if you put aside all the numbers in that, he has a point. Taking the fan off will free up, at most, 2HP if you're lucky. More likely like .1, haha. Jose
