The thing about the link is that it bolts on top of the bushing housing thing, so nothing changes with the control arms themselves at all. Its just like adding a thick washer under the head of the bolt, thats all. Jose

Try searching Google of japan. http://www.google.co.jp I did and sent a few quote request to dealers in the UK and sent them that picture. Hopefully they'll get back to me about it. Jose

As far as the multiple importers I found, no one ships diesels. Why? Because no one wants a diesel, so they don't go into agreements with shops and such about diesels. WTF?!?! One place said they could get it, but for $5200 I could buy a whole R50, you know? Jose

Very Nice. Glad to see this lift finally on!! jose

I love those wheels!! Can I Have them? Hell, I'll give you my 15x10's for them!! But anyway, the rear end does look unusually low. Maybe take some pics of under the rear to get a better look. Jose

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/1996-Nissan-Datsun-Pathfinder-4WD/Control-Arm-Bushing-Front/_/N-j5er2Z8oy1l Autozone has them. Not sure if you have an autozone up north there. Jose

Problem with california is you have to have an engine thats same year or newer, and you have to have all the emissions equipment from the donor vehicle. The chances of you even passing the visual inspection with that engine is slim to none (unless you know people who know people who have people who know people in high places who can call shots to the people they know in low places). Jose

Sounds like a great engine, just not sure about how great it wouyld be in a Pathy. And seems like a lot of work, especially since we want a drop in motor. But something to consider for sure. you should do it! On another note, I emailed password:JDM about importing the QD32, and they also said no-go on getting it. WTF? So emailed them and JEI about the reason why. Has to be some stipulation or higher fees on their part about bringing diesels over. Grr...Anyone else have an importer I can try or they can try? We need to find an importer!! Jose
-
No, no reason. Maybe the distributers over in Japan can't get them? I'll email them again and ask why. Jose
-
Yea, a front clip is the way to go, or even a whole vehicle. I email J.E.I. (Japanese engine importers) who are here in VA. They said they can't import diesel engines. Wonder if this is a trend. Jose

The box in the top right looks like an intake silencer, as the filter looks like its the cylindrical looking thing below and in front of it. If so, then the brake booster shouldn't be a problem, since you could just dump it to make room. I wonder how the electronics would work between the QD and VG. Very interesting. Jose

from z31performance.com http://www.z31performance.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=9765&p=102166&hilit=dip+stick+vg33#p102166 Don't know what they mean by relocating the dipstick. Maybe ask them. Jose

Maybe maybe not since the front is totalled, but would the overflow tank still be in good condition? Mine is cracked and falling apart! Jose

Umm...OK. I'm gonna change my gaps to .042 and be happy. Jose

Well, i go to Fastenol for Grade 8 Hardware. A lot cheaper and stonger than the dealership hardware (well, if you can compare grade 8 to grade 8). I just don't know the sizes. Jose

Basically, get a 2" lift to fit 32's (AC or O.M.E. - not to be confused with OEM). And if you want higher get an SFD. Look in the pinned topics to find out more.
-
Wheels. Depends on your wheels. Tyler M. (tmorgan) ran 35's on his R50 when he had the SFD with no problem. I think he ran up to 38's (someone will correct me. Maybe he willfinally show up again or Michiganave will chime in). Jose

Yes, my thoughts exactly. And what Enkei RT6 is 6lug? I'm pretty sure they are all 5x114.3, but I could be wrong. I've just never seen it. They are nice wheels. RT6 Jose

It looks like a sink faucet valve removal tool thing. I don't know how its supposed to make it easier, but its there. Jose
-
Update on the links? I want to know how they feel! Also, I've been searching and searching, and I can't find the specs on the control arm bolts! Anyone know what they are? Thanks. Jose

Toyotas have the same lug pattern as do Chevy's.

I just use a 6" extension. It's tight, and I can only rachet about a 1/4 turn at a time from the left so it takes a while, but it works. I just kind of align the socket/extension up with the plug in front of it and it usually goes spot on. I don't know if you still have the tool bag with your Nissan, but Nissan supplied a spark plug tool for this last plug (mine didn't have it). Well, I should've done that (usually do). When I got the pathy 3 years ago i checked the plugs, and they were all corroded away (I don;t know how it still ran) and the guy gave me new plugs. So I just swapped em out right there (didn't have my gap tool with me). Should've checked them later, but oh well. It's done now. For your WD21 guys, I hear your gaps are larger than us VG33 guys (like .055 or something)(lol, larger gap). Is that true? Jose

Hi. In another post I asked this question and the OP said 0.044. I was just cusrious to know what everyone else is running. I just replaced my timing belt, so I did my plugs, too. They were all over the place (from 0.032 to 0.063!). The haynes manual says .039 to .043, but it also says only the '98 is to be gapped (I don't know what that's all about). So what are you guys running? On a side note, when I did my t-belt, the original was off. from the LH cam to crank is supposed to have 43 teeth between them, (so the crank is at 5 o'clock), mine had 42 teeth (about 4 o'clock). No wonder my truck had no power below 3100RPM's! Jose

The Qd32 (i think) was in the R50. 4 cyl diesel turbo. Japan and other foreign markets had them. Best bet would be to call an engine importer and get a full front clip (you'll need the gauge cluster). Then you'll need to convert the fuel system. Hardest part might be the wiring, unless the chassis wiring is the same in the other markets. Good luck. Jose
