so it will work with the 2wd fwd reacing compression rods?
-
somone, I think on n4w, has done it b4. I'm not sure why but it is possible and if you search there (nissan4wheelers.com) you might find it. I think the 2wd tranny has a differant tail end that won't bolt up the tx-10 t-case and the upper and lower control arms are differant. the 2wd lower ones have "compression rods" that extend to the foward of the vehicle whereas the 4wd lowers have "compression/tension rods"(their function changes based on load) that extend toward the aft of the vehicle. The 4wd oil pan is smaller to clear the front diff and uses a wider water pump but I don't think that will hurt you. those are the biggest differances I know of between the 2wd and 4wd.

are you body lifted or suspension lifted? I (am a reckless example) have slid the ass end of my pathy in dirt, gravel and wet pavement many times and not lifted a tire off the ground. I am not lifted much yet and do not know how it will behave after lift. Learn your limits slowly and listen to your tires, if they get quieter but your sliding has not slowed down you are pushing it too far do not use sudden movements to correct this. I don't know how to best explain all of it and its not exactly the safest thing to promote so be careful. and watch for iregulairitys in the road, those will make you suck up the seat if you don't expect them, hopefully not worse.

thanks for the follow up buddy, I never heard of this and I soppose it'd be good info to know.

I'll try to remember to check back with you in a few months when I do mine, If you still don't have it I'll take your order and ship it to you myself. You'll have 2 pay double shipping on your end but @ least you'll have the paint.
-
as long as the center bore is 4" or greater. the AR should be fine and I assume the RC will good too but you may want to double check.

I'm sure it is easily reconginzed that you are just trying to help. no harm done

Rear Spring (I know it's be covered a million times)
MY1PATH replied to CaptAssfinder's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
the I6 is lighter than the v8 I would start with just the pigtail for now. "you can always cut more later but you cant always put some back." -
I have heard of sticking an old scoket between the linkage and the ajusting nut to take up some slack... may be that or a few washers would work.
-
your old cables are stretched and new ones will strech as they become old. I theres nothing wrong with the "pre-stretched cables" try shortening and re-crimping the rear ones, they are not likely to strech anymore. but before you do that make sure your rear brakes are in good service, sometime a new set of brake shoes will make a big differance on you e-brake.

HooHaa Is the screen name of the guy who makes them, you can pm him here or you can go to his site here he's a good guy and has a pretty quick turnarround/ delivery time.

theres 1 precat in the "mid pipe" and on 90 & later I think there is also 1 after cat(2 total) It may go in above the cat heatshield giving the impression that it is after. anyway when you replace just make sure u have one b4 & after

I have cheepo spacers in mine, the small rubber butterfly shaped kind. And they will fall out if you articulate enough and you will feel one side sag afterwards. Real springs are in my list of future mods. -
Bump; I'm curious I have not heard of this being an issue but if it is I wanna know b4 I do my cams.

I'm ASKING ABOUT HELICAL LSD. It does not use fluid motion like vlsd and it does not use clutch plates like clutch type lsd. I beilve it uses worm gears that push against its case under torque(see pic below)... it works but know its differant from VLSD or CLSD. I've seen a few for 87-89 300zx turbo(doesn't say anyting about the special edition models). I just wanna know if anyone with a better understaing of it thinks it would be good for an offroad aplication. DOES ANYBODY KNOW ABOUT HELICAL LSD? Ok for the record Incase anyone else asks. I finally found a site describing how the HLSD works and tested in drift, drag & rally carts.(CLSD was the prefered choice for rally) The description gave many scenarios, drift, ice, snow drag all exellent but if 1 wheel completely leaves the ground it acts like an open diff. A unling CLSD, HLSD cannot be modified to increase breakaway torque, Its torque multiplies towards the slow wheel based on driveshaft input as long as both wheels are on the ground.

WD21 OWNERS: What drive train/model trim do you have?
MY1PATH replied to Precise1's topic in General Forums
yes, Im thinking of the 6spd that came in some of the the vq frontiers and x's motors and wondering if it would bolt to a vg motor. -
between 29 and 31 the differance in MPG is almost negliable if your comparing 2 AT tires. mainly its the rotating weight and the width of the contact patch somone once told me a 20 lb increase in rotating mass the equivalant of a 100lb increas in dead weight. Economy 29" street tires weigh 1/2 as much and a contact patch of 7-8" makes for lesser rolling resitance. consider that 29x11.5 is wide contact patch and the weght of the at tread involved as well. B, I saw the Vatiiva mt on the top of the list on N4W's tire review section once section so I thought I would geive em a try. They look pretty sweet too, but then again my Laredos don't look special and they've performed great so far so I guess I'll find out if I'm trading form before function or not.

allong that train of thought I've often wondered if the 6sp 4x4 tranny+t-case would bolt up to the VG block. I would'nt care If the mounting ponits & shatfts are diferant because that can be modified easier than making a bell housing adapter. -
flooding maybe? I had an injector take a dump, filled my TB and more, I pulled the fuel relay and turned it till it started. when it did start it ran for about 3 or 4 min on excess unburnt fuel in the manifold and such.

WAIT you have a 90 2 door!?!?! with vg30e(mpfi) engine instead of the vg30i (glorified carb w/ injectors) ya? THOSE are rare, I want one....

Somone asked this and about mudflaps, it it wasn't here than I think it was in nissan4wheelers. Anyway somone responded with (a very long)post that listed every states mudflap and fender(tire coverage) law. IIRC Washingtons was someting like the wheel can't stick out from the side more than an inch. and the wheels must be coverd from 10deg in front to 75deg in back(it does not state where this measurement is taken form) to prevent stuff from being kicked (use mudflaps to obtain this) there is also a ground clearance statement about how high a vehicle can be before it needs them.

Rear Spring (I know it's be covered a million times)
MY1PATH replied to CaptAssfinder's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
It it high? cause It will get higher on new srpings. ok, seriously. If you only want 1" and want a black and white answer get OME springs Part # OME920 (1.7" lift) and use a spring limiters to pull down 1 winding after installed. The ford and JGC will be too high. OME spring $70 at http://www.rocky-road.com/pathfindersus.html limiters @ auto store $12 you'll need atleast 2 on each coil to keep it balanced. -
IMO Best bang for buck; 2.25 Magnaflow bolt on cat, found mine on ebay for 70-80 bucks 2" magnaflow stainles muffler(not polished), on summit racing for 80 bucks had a $5 bolt on flange welded directly to the muffler so it bolts to the cat and a 2" tailppe made to come out just before the rear fenderwell $60 @ the exhaust shop. they said they'd make me a new 2-2.25" mid pipe (for o2 sensor) that bolts on for another 50 but I held off for now. So full exhaust from my thorley y pipe back cost me(including the mid-pipe I didn't get made) 80+80+5+60+50= $275 not to bad fo full exhaust. I might add that I do not think you need to replace all your pipes when going to the high flow set-up. the less restriction @ the cat & muffler will allow a much higher velocity of exhaust gass to go thru the stock pipes. Increasing diameter does reduce restiction to an extent but also increases volume which reduces velocity. the trade off is where it locates your torque band.

JN8- So we Drive "Japan multi purpose" vehicles not suv's or tucks but JMP's my vin is D1 for digit 5&6 I would assum D1 (which is not listed) is pathfineder (wd21) and myabe hardbody pickup (d21) since d2 Is frontier/ exterra (d22) Interesting find. Funny it has the vg30i on there but it doesn't have years below 97 listed and the i was long gone by then.
