  1. 2WD's have forward facing compression rods? Wha? I've never seen that before. Pics?
  2. They're all going to be different, considering they've all been driven around for 13 to 20 years... Got a pic? Any aftermarket parts on it?
  3. The knuckles need swapping, not the suspension. 2WD knuckles have no hole for the CV axle to go through. Otherwise, it's a pretty straight swap job that involves a lot of heavy parts and a lot of time. If you've got time, money and the inclination, you can do it.
  4. The ones I've been getting were all out of V8's. Where'd you see anyone recommending the I6 coils? Ah well. As long as they're 9 coils tall and have a wire thickness of more than .52-.54", you should be OK. They used a lot of different springs in those damn Jeeps.
  5. Those kits used to be $690 from one online place, minus shocks.

The helical type is different, but again, not a bolt-in for for the front Pathy diff. Trail running is usually done at very low speeds. A VLSD requires heat and wheelspin to work. With only 60 lbs breakaway force, the effect is fairly insubstantial. Just ONE of my tires/wheel weighs 60 lbs! If you lift a tire off the ground with a VLSD, you will instantly have a one-wheel-peel-mobile until you generate enough wheelspin to heat up the silicon fluid and make it work even a little, by which point you've gotten stuck.
  7. I have 33x13.5x15 LTB's on and they have worked fine since new. They wear out VERY fast though, don't expect to get more than 30k out of them or so. I pretzel tie rods every now and then but it's mostly due to hillclimbing under power which makes the front tires try to attack each other, even with upgraded steering.
  8. Pull the blower fan out and remove all the leaves and pine needles from your housing before it catches fire!
  9. Damn, man. You need some bumpstops. No wonder BJ's are flying off your truck. hehe Nice work on the angled spacers!!
  10. AFAIK it's only on manual transmissions though. I dunno why you'd need an interlock switch on an automatic.
  11. With all the spam problems lately and myself being out of town, all the mods banged heads together and we decided to make Pezzy and RedPath88 Administrators of the NPORA forum to help keep on top of any problems that arise. I think they will be a wonderful addition to the forums and they will both do excellent jobs. If anyone has a problem, you can now message either of them OR myself to assist. Congrats, Pezzy and RedPath88! Now get back to work!
  12. IIRC they're 14mm x 1.5 x 50mm. The only place I found any was at a farm and tractor supply store, apparently tractors use large fine-pitch metric bolts too.
  13. I think the reason behind the recent activities by spammers is this: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20081...il-hotmail.html The CAPTCHA system in place to prevent bots from signing up to forums, websites and games has been cracked.
  14. kaffofame has been IP banned, thanks for letting me know. If any more pop up I'll get on it.
  15. No, it's not common for lifters to go flat. IIRC there was a recall on 92's ONLY regarding valve seats...hmm. Could also be exhaust leaks at the manifolds. Check into that.
  16. Your sun visor has wiring in it? Weird. Was it the passenger side one with a lighted mirror? I can't think of much that would pop all 4 bulbs at once except a power surge and that'd fry quite a few more things than just the running light filaments. Martin, any ideas?
  17. I would start with two and go from there. One gallon of house paint puts two coats on a LOT of wallspace. I've been painting for quite some time now. I know house paint isn't the same as bedliner-style coatings (coating thickness, etc) but still, I can't imagine using 4 gallons on a single vehicle unless you straight dumped it on the roof and let it drip down onto the rest. heh
  18. Thing is, I'm basically doing it for free and I want to see how it works, or if it doesn't. I'm not down with spending $1100 on a turbo just to mess with.
  19. I have my grubby hands on a good turbo off of an old Dodge Charger Shelby Cobra turbo. I should find out what the specs for this thing are. It's still on the car. My stepbrother bought this trashed-ass looking Cobra and started working on it (mostly "taking it apart") and then got kicked out of the house. He then got a new WRX. The bastard. Mom and stepdad paid for the Dodge, so they said I could have it, but I gotta take the whole car...d'oh... I've really been thinking about a remote turbo setup, DIY style. Do it dirty with exhaust pipe and silicone couplers, heh. The TBI flows more than enough fuel and air to take it up to around 12 psi... (according to Lee, formerly of L&P) I'd rather shoot for a nice low-RPM boost of 4-5 psi across the board, see how that works out...maybe use the old Eclipse intercooler I have laying in my garage somewhere...
  20. Ditto...headers can increase MPG's. Why the hot fuel? I've never heard of anyone trying that.
  21. Do a little searching, this has been covered and answered tons of times
  22. I think it comes out as a whole unit. The FSM shows each section as it's own separate part. If I had my camera in here I'd take a pic...
