Well, unfortunately, you bought a car that needed a lot of work, which is probably why the PO was getting rid of it. The GOOD news is that with only 113k on the truck and knowing that the work has been done, it should run trouble free for many years (baring the usual starter/alternator/battery stuff that happens with any car). Hang in there, it's worth the trouble... B

I bet it skyrockets at the end of the sale and/or it has been wrecked, serious flaws/bad tranny, etc. Just like a woman, if it looks perfect and had cheap, you can bet it has serious problems... B

Contact a dealership with the VIN and ask. If they get wierd about it, just pretend you are trying to get the paint code or something... B

Rebuilt or replaced? If rebuilt, you will probably have more trouble with it. If replaced, does the truck have an external tranny cooler and is the stock radiator cooler bypassed? These have a tendency to clog and let the trannys overheat. How does it drive? Does reverse do anything wierd? Thats usually the first sign of tranny failure... Yes, all that I have ever seen. I got 2 in the garage... B

Like was said, it doesn't sound THAT bad, and if the rest if the truck is immaculate, why sell it? Get to work arresting any problem areas and keep your jem. My first 95 came from Rustchester, NY for the first two years of it's life. light/scattered Surface rust only. The second 95 Came from Philly, PA for the first 9 months. Virtually no rust, minor trim spots. Expecting to find a absolutely perfect 13 year old truck that is still reasonably priced will take you a LONG time... B

Well, I have to wonder about how well it works/as what pressure does it slip or disengage? Also being a machinist... "Only ultra strength material is used which is 67% stronger than titanium. Ok, but what material is 'ultra strength'?? Sounds like an infomercial... B

Thanks for publicizing this. People should know not to click on questionable links, but given the normally trustworthy people here, I can see many people falling for it. We Mods do try to deal with these issues, but may not catch them right away. Don't hesitate to report them... B

If the correct replacement studs were used, the repair should last indefinitely. The original studs were... inadequate... My attitude is if it isn't broke, don't fix it. No as far as I know, the manifolds do not need to be touched to pull the autotranny. B

You can press in a new bearing I believe, but I think the whole assembly is like $20-25 so what your time is worth comes into play... B

There was a guy 6months, maybe a year ago that had a similar problem but I can't remember the fix. I'll search for the thread when I get home... B

Well, thatss another unibody vehicle I would not agree has 'exceptional off-road capability'... Is that the same 9' you tell your... Forget it. LOL I'm not saying it is useless, a POS or anything, I'm just saying that again 'exceptional off-road capability' is not a description that applies. It makes complete sense that you got one Trainman, and I hope it is as reliable and useful as your old pathy. Just don't tell me we are going to go out wheeling... All the more reason I drive a WD21... B

First step would be to run the codes on the ECU, especially right when it happens. Print out a copy, put it in the glove box... It could certainly be what silverlion said. It could be a bad wiring connection to sensors also, especially because it is intermittent. Best start checking connectors and if/when it happens again and you can, pop the hood and move wires/connectors to try to isolate the problem. That should be plenty to start... B
