  1. I think our 2drs are differant. Mine def. have black painted steel screws that come right out of the nylon nutserts in the door jamb when I turn em. Had to trace ecu, tail-light & old speaker wires and they backed right out
  2. IIRC the the fuel line has to be "primed" to fill up the volume to the fuel filter and injector rails (injector body in my case) I think this it done by un-plugging the injector harness and turning the key to "run" several times letting the fuel pump run for a few seconds each time and then pluging the injectors back in and cranking it.
  3. I'm pretty sure pro-comp just got done with a very large lawsuit having to do with instances like that.
  4. there happens to be one for an 89 on ebay rt now
  5. you can polish your TB with demel and some 400 grit attachments working up to soft buffers. To port it you would need to have a larger buterfly made and a way of enlarging the opening so that it stays perfectly round.
  6. yes but the guys that did your TB are out of buisness and all the local guys are afraid to touch mine... thanks for the info on the mixture heater. U have any issues running in the cold there in OR. If it doesn't really effect anythign exept airflow I just might gut when it get warm enough to work outside.
  7. looking @ all the oem bent tubular links makes me think my oem I-beam style links may have some value after they are removed.
  8. the alternative is buying some diconnects already made from 4x4 parts... as far as keeping it from hangin low I was gonna use shock limit straps
  9. I never thought of that... I assume doing so might offer better mpg too... will removing the mixture heater throw any codes? will doing so give me problems in cold weather?(running closed loop longer) anthing else I should know about this?
  10. Leave your injectors allone. The nissan TBI injector is best left stock. I had some python performance injectors and they both failed @ the same time after 4 months, this led to several other problems. there are not spacers available for the tbi but I saw somone who 88pathoffroad made a spacers for his and said he noticied no differance in power or gas. I good polish should yeild some results as well as porting and getting an enlarged your butterfly may improve throttle response. dangers; after your TB is removed (mixture heater too) look @ your manifold, the passageway to the egr may have allot of buidup inside it. Do not let any of this hardened buildup fall into your manifold. I just p&p my manifold and knocked 20 yrs of crap outa that passage it is big enough and hard enough to do some damage.
  11. he should be doing another round @ these links this coming month. I'm gonna get some lowers if he gets enough pre-orders.
  12. if its anything like my 89 the t-case & front diff breathe into the tranny. and the rear diff breathes into the x-member above it. Hmm... maybe differant for the rear but if the rest is the same you shouldn't have to worry.
  13. so... are you goining to make the 2door MPFI? that would be kool! I might try that some day...
  14. you can install diff drop bushings to lower your diff slightly and thus reduce some of that angle. the diff will still be out of harms way after the bushings are installed.
  15. I think a little more dependalbe choice would be the hella double realy which can be found on summitracing. I used one side for low-beam and the other for Hi-beam. works great and is designed for use with HIG output ligthing systems. summit part# HLA-003588001
  16. if the spare is full size ie. 15x6 or 15x7 then yes you can mount a full size tire on there. spares are made smaller cause they are cheaper and esier to put on, you don't have to jack as high from a flat if your spare is smaller. but with a full size spare you can still get outa the mountains w/ no major handling issues
  17. the pre-90 5speeds are compatible but they used lower gear ratios. this won't hurt anything exept your mpg if you go over 60mph allot x2 on everything else B said
  18. 31's came stock on many wd's but those usually also came on 15x7 rims. with a 15x6 rim I would reccomend 30x9.5 max tire size.(makes balancing easier) if you get a 15x8 rim you can run 31's fine and lager later on if you lift it. you can tighten your torsion bars with a pair of 19mm wrenches in about 20 min. search the how-to's for tips.
  19. its ok, I make the same mistake, I read the topic and not always the section its in.
  20. lol the intent of the open diff was not wrong wheel driveinevitabley that was the result but for most divers thats much better than having both wheels locked arround a turn. one other benifit for inexperienced drivers is that wrong wheel dive keeps the vehicle from going into a spin on ice when one wheel hits a dry spot.
  21. too narrow IMO. If you want the smittybilt style get one for a mid 80's yota like slick did or a 93is s10 like I did (not finished) both make a great fit for the pathy if you customize the mounting. I'm sure you can find one in a winch style too,
  22. there is a chemical rectaion with something in the exhaust (I think its hydrocarbons but I can't remember for sure) that when mixed with the air/fuel allows the mixture to cobust @ a sligtly lower temperature. this chemically altered mixture sopposedly more effiecently burns the fuel.
  23. x2 the egr lowers combustion temps for more efficent burn= better mpg I wish I knew how much better tho
