  1. http://www.z31parts.com/engineparts.html the 300zx guys use this even after they've installed a pathfinder intake maniflod.
  2. I'd guess about the same, I don't think the ca model pathys had a differant cat, I think they had a more conservative ecm.
  3. if you get the plate welded, try to weld it to the backside. this sounds like the hardway but welding to the front will increase your castor angle. also IF you want to rplace those bushing cups with something sturdy let me know, you can weld a a bearing cup in place; I have the p/n and supplier for the one that most closelsy fits the oiginal rubber bushing shape. they run like $5 ea, you'll want 4 (front/back both sides). this mod should end all ROD ISSUEs EDIT: I just checked the invoice $8.29ea McGuire Bearing PN A-S M84510 If anybody needs me to pick some up I can.
  4. magnaflow makes a CA model high flow, and magnaflow tries to desin their catylist to be as effective as stock. An older stock cat (mine was 20 yrs old) has deposits on the catylist that make emissions read higher hyrdocarbons esp if you've had a bad 02 sensor for a prolonged period of time. so a new cat from magnaflow may surpisingly do better.
  5. I had taken all my heat sheild off for the same reason and not had any issues, nor did I expect any. you can use bolts instead of sutds (many vehicles do) just make sure they are high grade or they will get weak with the constant heat changes. If you do get sutds make sure they are the "300zx turbo" sutds the original pathfinder studs were inferior and prone to breaking.
  6. I would not do more than 2" w/o UCA's but yes there are cheaper ways than the calmini kit. new t-bars are not required(I don't reccomend them)and used JGC springs are dirt cheap. JGC is also good for stiffer ride/ load capacity. I'll be going for the (NOT grand) JC i6/v6 3" coils from rough country as they are a little bit softer(closer to stock ride)
  7. from WA dove to Calil last month. avg'd 18.5 and 18.7 to grants pass. Avg'd low 17's on cali gass and 80+mph speeds in cali. same numbers on the way back. cargo; me, 2 girls, 1 dog & luggage for the 4 of us to last 1.5 wks (that includes the girls luggage) things that may have contributed to my decent mpg; headers, e-fan and midgrade gass the whole way.
  8. how'r we on orders? If its 5/6 when I check tomorrow I'll buy a set of lowers when I wake up tomorrow (11ish am) so this thing can get rolling. otherwise april will make a perfect belated B-day present for me!
  9. the orange sitcker is usulally oval in shape isn't it? try jacking up one side turning 1 wheel (ebrake off, tranny in N) it the driveshaft turns when you turn the wheel its open, if it wont budge its LSD
  10. srry to make it sound even more pathetic but the 4dr WD21 weighs 3,800 lbs and the ealier 2drs were closer to 3,600. and sadly the vg30 is only 10 hp more than the ka24 but @ least it provides a better tq band. Stock pathy's are weak but you should still be able to break loose w/ a v6 turnig a MT. my 89 does (older TBI system) and it did before I put any mods on it(headers, high flow 2' exhaust, ignition, e-fan...) x2 on making sure everyting is in good tune; a worn cap and rotor can rob you of 10-15 hp good plugs and wires 15 btdc spark timing (big differance)
  11. moment of shame; I used electric fan forced air induction on my pathfinder once... (I used a 3" inlet bilge pump) I did not feel a huge differance but; arround town my MPGs went down by about 2 mpg on the higway my MPGs went up by about 1 mpg @ the time this worked out for me becuase I had a 100mile daily commute (50 each way) with no traffic.
  12. you may need a "5 sided wrench" if you have any really beefy 6 point box wrenches you can cut one side out slip it over the hose and then onto the fitting but it may still open up on you. and real 5 side wrenches are hard to find.
  13. stock wd21 exhaust is 1.875" (almost 2") and its a center/ offset prolly about 18" long
  14. woops I'm 1 month off lol I'll try again soon
  15. I hit submit 2x srry; the first time was accidental an I didn't have picutres or full description up. the 2nd time was complete and how I wanted it.
  16. watch and learn.http://gprime.net/video.php/blowdarts altho going 90+ in a pathfinder may be concering as well.
  17. I think the temp controller that came with my FAL BlackMagicExtreme has a relay built into it. but it also has circuts for A/C control, manual on/off and so on....
  18. WHEN YOU make this kit will it just be the upper links? and will it be compatible with the stock length lower links(the ones your taking pre-orders for) or will the lowers have to go long-arm as well?
  19. hey kingman, it seems you have allot of badluck with your pathy. today I looked @ one and now I'm thinking it could be a fresh start for you if you can afford it. It may save your more trouble (and $$$)than trying to bring your current one back to speed. Its a 1987 4x4 SE V6. re-painted in 92 very clean black, decent interior factory winch mount bull-bar new engine only 40k no exhaust leaks no appearnat rust (can double check the frame if your interested) no lift and treadplate running boards the seller is asking 1,950 I considered it my self but held back If it was a 1990 (2dr vg30e MPFI) it'd prolly been in my driveway by now. talk it over w/ your folkd if ya need to and let me know what ya think man. I just want you to have a better pathfinder experience.
  20. lol very intersted is not the same as very well paid. but ditto on wanting these made I'm sure more will pre-order by the 18th.
  21. NO, some nissan 5spd 2wd pathfinders and a few 300zx used a borg-warner T5. THATS RIGHT! Ford Mustang! but are you a manual 2wd?
  22. why not just bend one out of 1/4" plate? 2 bends 4 holes and nice powdercoat to kick it off.
  23. there is a "srewdriver hole" in the side of the caliper stick a large flat head thru it and use it to pry the piston back into the caliper. and yes my manual actually calls it a "screwdriver hole"
