  1. I'm 800 away from hitting 250K, I'll be sure to take a pic. I use Mobile 1 and the cheap napa filters. I have yet to burn a drop of oil and change it about every 4K. I am leaking ATF like a sieve though. I've got a sensor called the sensor revolution turbine in the bottom of my AT that's housing must have cracked and ATF is drooling out of it down through the wire's sleeve. I'm finally dropping it off tomorrow to get replaced along with the bushings. I ordered the split trailing arm bushings and will try to do those myself since you don't need a 35 ton press. Luckily my friend just opened up a shop and I can use his lift. I also ordered the pan hard rod bushings. If you saw what 250K miles looks like on stock bushings you'd probably slap me. Horrible steering wheel shake and loud clunking whenever I hit a bump.
  2. Well I ended up spending about $300 on poly bushing from 4x4parts. Not too happy about it but it had to be done. Supposedly this will yield a more rigid ride and will outlast the car. Who knows how many more miles I can put on this thing anyway. Yeah 250,000 is a lot and I've needed a new car for a really long time but I could never get rid of the Baja Beast.
  3. Hey everyone it's been a long ass time since I've been on here. Well the Baja Beast has 250,000 miles on her and needs pretty much every bushing replaced with exception to the trailing arms. Should I go OEM or Poly? If I go poly should I get them from 4x4parts or is there a company that has decent customer service and is much more deserving of my hard earned money? Thanks!

  7. Unfortunately not yet. Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow. It's really simple, only 4 wires. I think 2 for power and one for speed sensor input and another for speed sensor output.
  8. Well the pins shouldn't be any wider then 1/4" in diameter. I'm not sure aboout the offset though.
  9. Dude! I just did my pads/rotors last Friday and drove 30 miles to pick up this. I've been sporadically searching for the FSM tool for the last 2 years. I contacted the dealer, snap-on and all sorts of other manufacturers/distributors to get the tool in the FSM and no dice. The dude from the dealer was using the same tool shown above. The socket would be 100x better mainly because it can be torqued to speck and backed off. Plus negotiating my tool when the nut is recessed back onto the hub is a pain.
  10. Well I measured wrong, my starting jacking height is around 17" and my old jack had a max lift of 14.25". I ended up buying a 3 ton jack from harbor freight which was on sale for $60. It is enough to get the tires off the ground which allowed me to replace my rotors and pads today, woohoo! Thanks guys! In 2 weeks I'll be ordering the Trail Gear 67" Rock sliders. I'll be enlisting my welding buddy because they have to be cut and welded on. I envy the guys that can fab up metal, definitely an art.

  12. Thanks and no offense taken. The pics were snapped by a friend's girlfriend at a local car show themed Down 'N Dirty but they wanted clean rides so she got her semi-annual wash. She doesn't really get that dirty regardless because I'm not a mudder. 2WD = Baja/Desert style. Sad I know but I'm not going to let it hold me back.
  13. So I'm about to replace my rotors and pads on my '01. The last time I jacked it up was before I moved to 33's(29's) and had to use a 3" wood block to get up high enough. The jacking point on mine is 22" and I can't find any jacks(even the harbor freight 3-ton) that will go higher than 20". With the body of the jack that gives a total life of 25.75" at full extension. That doesn't seem like enough to get her off the ground. Any help is appreciated.
