  1. If you end up needing auto hubs, I kept mine when I switched to manual. Let me know.
  2. BSPT - British standard pipe thread. Most things built outside of North America use it for piping. North America uses NPT - National pipe thread. On a similar note if you have something made in Japan, they use a slightly different pitch on their Phillips head screws. If your normal screwdriver keeps stripping the screws, then get a screwdriver that meets JIS - Japanese industrial standard. Places that sell bike parts usually sell them. I learned this wrenching on Yamahas and Kawasakis.
  3. Are they seriously making heated steering wheels now? No wonder cars are so ridiculously expensive.
  4. Drove it to the new house. First time I have ever had the pathy on the freeway. First time I have had it over 60 mph too, got up to 70. Oddly enough, the reverse lights are working now, also a first. Edit: Got to do something about the seat, that thing is so broken down it is very uncomfortable for an extended period.
  5. The only thing that could be ATF in that area are those cooler lines. Make sure you don't have a pinhole in them. I had plastic wire loom rub through a metal a/c line on the 93 wd21 I had years ago.
  6. You never mentioned the color of the fluid that was leaking? That should point you in the right direction for where to began looking.
  7. There should be a harness connection somewhere under the dash so you could test the wire without taking the column apart. Unfortunately, I am in the middle of a move, so my fsm is packed. I can't tell you what color wire you need. Maybe someone that has access to the manual could help out? There is also a link somewhere so you can download sections of the manual.
  8. I am in Gray's Harbor, but am moving to Lewis county on Saturday. There are enough of us in Western Washington that we should be able to set up monthly meets, almost never works out though. I had to do the screen trick on my Titan. Had a mouse nest on top of the cabin air filters.
  9. Is that really a metro forum, or a support group? Welcome, nice to have you here.
  10. Could be, these are known to have issues with the ignition switch. Next time it happens, push in on the key and then try to start it. You could also check for voltage on the ignition wire where it leaves the switch.
  11. What about the other end of the connections, where it connects to the starter?
  12. I don't know why this thread showed up in my new content, but this is the funniest thing I have read in awhile.
  13. A guy at work had a similar problem on a Dodge pickup. He had sprayed the terminals of all the wires with battery terminal protector then put everything together. The protector was insulating the wire that went to the starter, so lights and everything worked, but it wouldn't start. He cleaned the protector off, then it worked fine. Short story long, check the connections.
  14. Your right. Almost all of my experience is on domestics. Now that you mention it, the Nissans do have a gasket instead of a diaphragm. Same idea though, have to keep the fluid separate from atmosphere so it doesn't absorb moisture.
  15. First, you are always supposed to top the reservoir off as you bleed, don't let it get below the low mark. Second, if the split in the rubber allowing outside air to get in, that is bad. Brake fluid will absorb moisture from the air and that will cause corrosion in the system. The fact that it sucked the diaphragm in tells me that the fluid was too low.
  16. Still have air in the system. Bleed the front two lines. Make sure you keep the reservoir topped off between bleeds.
  17. It was common when I lived in Alaska to run 190 thermostat. I wouldn't worry about it. If you didn't have a IR temp reader you wouldn't even know. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
  18. Depending on outside conditions. It is common in colder climates to put a higher temp stat in so the vehicle warms up quicker, if at all. Even then, you usually need to block part of the radiator to get up to temp. Opposite for hot climates.
  19. Abandon the line and replace it. Run it in a more accessible area.
  20. The tire shop or tire manufacturers website should have specs on the tire that will tell you the max and min allowable width of the rim. I assume you are asking if the tire will fit on the stock rims?
  21. I see. I assumed you guys were talking about the instrument cluster. Yes, I can see why you would want the dome lights brighter.
  22. I have always preferred my interior lights as dim as possible so it doesn't glare on my eyes at night. I have my truck turned down to the point right before they shut off. Nice rigs.
  23. No luck. I deleted the emails long ago, and checked out as a guest at JC Whitney, so no order history. I took measurements on the old one and then searched the site until I found a suitable replacement.
  24. You can also nominate others, doesn't have to be your own pathfinder.
