How much does our pathfinder weigh?
Alkorahil replied to Cuong Nguyen's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
hmmm I still having trouble converting stones to pounds! 4000 pounds = 285.714 stone -
Water is normal and means the catalytic converter is working properly. as to the globules......i would have to see to figure it out.

I agree with what Precise and My1PATH stated. I would add to consider replacing the fuel pressure regulator when you do this job since you are already there taking the fuel rail off and to take off and look at the AAC valve on the back/bottom of the intake plenum and check to see if it is rusted on the inside. If so replace it as well.

adding to what 5523Pathfinder posted: I too have seen many O2 sensors that do not throw a code but are still bad. The ECU only registers an error is the voltage is less or greater than the specified operating peramiters. IIRC 0.5V is nominal on these O2 sensors with a +/- 0.2v varience. As the engine/exhaust run the voltage output to the ECU will fluxutate between .3V and .7V. What I have seen several times is the O2 sensor is actually bad and stuck inputting to the ECU a constant say.... 0.5V. The ECU will not register this as an error since the input is within norm, however the ECU is not making any adjustments to the mix either so it will run poor. If you are having MAF problems Nissan had a service bulletin to help correct this problem. Try adding the MAF ground sub harness Part Number: 24079-40F00. Nissan List is : $30.88 This jumper harness gives more ground to the MAF to help with the MAF wiring harness problems the VG30 engines are notorious for. Several people on here including myself have done this fix and had no problems since.

What would cause my temp gauge to read improper?

NISSAN PART NUMBER: 22630-ED000 ENGINE COOLANT TEMP SENSOR -
That cover looks like the VSS module for a 89-93 D21 Hardbody pickup..... Very similar. It is a little hard to tell from the picture but it looks like the Black/Red wire is cut. If you look at the wiring diagram, that goes to the hood pin switch. The system will think the pin (and hood) is in the up position and will not arm.

anyone know a way to fix seatbelts so they retract?
Alkorahil replied to ahardb0dy's topic in The Garage
That is exactly what the warranty is for, failure of the pretensioner in the seat belt. -
55: NO malfunctions I agree with Kingman and a few others. The camshaft position sensor in the distributor is bad. And it wont throw a code.

Ok So I went to our Warranty Administrator and got the full details from Nissan. If your local dealer is giving you problems on seat belt replacement under warranty give them this information including the Op Codes, this is straight from Nissan. WARRANTY COVERAGE PLAN SB Seat Belts - Useful life of the vehicle for 1989-2002 vehicles, 10 years for 2003 up vehicles. OpCode VK22AA Replace Front Seat Belt Tounge Assembly - One side OpCode VK213AA Replace Front Seat Belt Tounge Assembly - Both Sides If you take your vehicle to get seat belts done, and they say it is not covered, tell your Service Advisor to contact their Warranty Administrator and give this information, if they do not cooperate call 1-800-NISSAN1. -
They are not pressed in. It is not an overlyt difficult job to complete, but as always, it depends on your mechanic skills and tools available. Read up on replacing them and judge for yourself.

If equipted, I wonder if you could tie it to the power antenna in the fuse block so when the radio (causing the power antenna to rise) is turned on the amp goes on without popping the fuse. I did this a long time ago on a GM.

I agree with silverton. You stated a 'wobble' at 60 and smooths out at 70, that is a prime symptom of wheel(s) out of balance.

We have never had anyone put these on a truck here, the Nismo diffs for the 240zx and 300zx are very stout/heavy duty. If rugged rocks has them in stock still that is cool, as they are NLA from Nissan now.

I hate to ask, but you did plug the knock sensor and AAC back in to the respective harnesses right?

The Maniks I have seen have a hook and loop (velcro) where that rubber pad is pictured above.

Chronic clutch hydraulic problem, damper?
Alkorahil replied to piste's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
The fluid naturally abosrbs it from conact with the ouitside air over time. The resevour cap does not make a total/complete seal. Perhaps this will explain better: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brake_fluid note: brake and clutch fulid are the same. -
yeah! what he said!

My1Path noticed the same thing I did, the castor is off. Many shops when they do an alignment wont even mess with this. In short, If the castor is far off it will 'push' or 'pull' the wheel. This can lead to excess wear on the outer or inner of the tire. If you have worn bushings on the front suspension it will also cause the castor to be off. You may want to read more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caster_angle

Chronic clutch hydraulic problem, damper?
Alkorahil replied to piste's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
This is exactly what I was thinking. The fluid has abosrbed too much water vapor. Brake and clutch fluid as mentioned above have high hydroscopic properites - they absorb water molecules from the outside air. What may have happend is there In summer there is more water vapor in the air (humidity), in winder the temps are lower so the water in the fluid will freeze when the temps get low enough adn the system can not create enough hydrolic pressure without pumping the system to get the pressure up.
