Wow, that turned out really good for a DIY repair like that!

Sounds like it's gonna finish up nicely, should be a great touring rig! The R51, or really anything with independent suspension, is largely overlooked in the States and it's a shame, with a good driver and a few mods even an IFS/IRS rig can get awesome places.

Also full of rubbish, but that's just my Also if one takes the time to host photos securely, a forum acts as a fantastic archive, which Facebook doesn't do nearly as well, hence the same 3 questions posted there every single day.

Moved from R50 FAQ section to regular R50 section, as this is a personal issue and not an FAQ, and also it will get better visibility in the regular R50 section.

Unfortunately due to some scheduling issues as well as this little pandemic issue going on this isn't going to happen. I'm going to unpin it, hopefully something can come together later in the year!

With how I treated the vehicle the sensor broke pretty quick so I had to get used to no cruise lol, although now my 4Runner has working cruise (only the regular kind sadly) and I love using it on the highway. It's really insane how far car tech has come, especially about cruise control related stuff. For a 2002 that thing was really well equipped, it had touch screen sat nav, 4 heated seats, memory driver's seat, intelligent cruise control, auto 4wd, and other features that I don't even remember, quite a lot of luxury features for a "truck"! If I get another R50 I'm very tempted for it to just be an immaculate and well-optioned QX4 for a nice daily driver.

A spoiler is supposed to attach there with 4 Philips screws.

My 2002 had that, it was pretty awesome. They called it ICC (Intelligent Cruise Control). It even had several options for following distance. It allows you to set your cruise control to some speed, and if you come up behind slower traffic it'll automatically slow you down to match their pace.

That should work. Not sure how much behind the bumper and so forth you'd have to grab to make sure everything bolts up properly (I don't think you'll need anything other than the superficial stuff, but I'm no expert), but the vehicles are the same width and so forth so not massive issues like you're worried about; it's all the same unibody structure. Depending on the year, the QX4 may have HID headlights, so there may be some wiring to do to get them going, but if you can they look great in my opinion (shape and light output), so worth it. The plastic flares on the QX4's fenders on post-facelift models does flow into the trim on the doors, so if you're planning to swap all the bits front to back you can make the look smooth and complete, but otherwise you may have some compromises.

As far as posting pics on this site, the file attachment tool isn't designed for pictures to be able to be shared, hence the small size limitation. Sounds like an unusual issue indeed, 5100's are extremely common in the Toyota communities I'm involved in and failures are few and far between, with the only ones I've seen being the end snapping off due to extreme abuse. I wouldn't take unusual premature bushing wear as a reason to jump up in cost on shocks, although if you want longer ones anyways it's a good excuse haha. That's also extremely like Bilstein to deny warranty, from what I've seen it seems that they will only warranty things when they're done precisely as they specify, although that does make sense I suppose. Personally I think the amount of rake you have is very reasonable and looks good, is the trunk empty in the pic? A couple toolboxes and/or camping gear when on trips should get it level I'd imagine, so if it sits a bit uneven day to day but sits right in the woods, sounds like a good setup to me.

Same here. The auto parts stores seem more sanitary than the fast food joints to me lol. For those of you still going out to eat, don't forget, even if the employees at the drive-thru are wearing gloves, those gloves just touched the credit card of the person behind you, then your drink, and the next person's card, then their drink, and the next person's card, then their drink...matters a bit more now, but that's something to think about always - money and cards are gross!
