A slipping timing belt would not cause something that feels like driveline slip (AFAIK; never experienced timing belt slip myself). The VG33 is an interference engine anyways, so if the timing belt is slipping, unless you're really lucky, the motor would be junk and you'd know. Not really sure what to suggest other than transmission, sorry. There's been a fair amount of conversation here lately about tranny slip, I can try to dig up some of those so you can have some reading to do on the subject.

Yeah, there's is more to that story haha. Note to self: if you're gonna drift, take note of if you're in 2wd or 4x4 first, because it makes a big difference in how the vehicle will react ? There was actually one occasion where a drunk snowmobiler yelled something along the lines of "is that a f#$+!n Lexus?!?" as the groups passed one another, certainly interesting haha. The Jeepers definitely weren't intimidated, but I think they were generally very surprised.

HID too, quite bright and not a gross yellow color. Headlight housings, even without the HID ballast, for post facelift QX4's are EXPENSIVE though, so I suggest not drifting into a tree, even if I does lead to you getting an epic bumper. Not that I'm speaking from experience.

My 4th gen 4Runner has a locked door, interesting that they did away with it for the 5th gens. And yeah, the heated seats were super awesome, switches were mounted on the back of the center console. The adaptive cruise was super cool while it worked (died after 1 year of ownership, 3 days at the dealer determined it was the sensor in the bumper and would be $3k to fix, so it stayed broken), you could even select 3 or 4 different distances to follow a slower vehicle at.

Heated seats front and rear, adaptive cruise control (called ICC or Intelligent Cruise Control by Infiniti), touch screen satellite navigation, automatic climate control, fancy 4wd, etc...and all in 2002! Mercedes has nothing on Infiniti!

I agree, I think that little bar on the bumper looked great. If I had still had a stock bumper I would have definitely grabbed that part when that QX4 was at the junkyard (it was mega rusty, and for the record although the rear bumper and rock sliders looked beefy, they were attached with thin bits of strapping and sheet metal screws; very disappointing). It's really amazing how your bar bend things in such a way to save the front end! Hard to say from this angle, but if you had one of those bars that goes over the headlights too do you think it would have damaged more stuff?

I do like the PreRunner bar you had on yours, I would say it helped things more than hurt for sure. Only taking out the bumper cover is a small price to pay given it's benefits, especially since if the bar gets pushed back enough to break the bumper cover the accident would have trashed the bumper cover and then some anyways. It's the big ones that could bend and smash headlights/hood unnecessarily that I'm not a fan of, however it sounds like you agree with my opinion on those. How did your bar mount, did it detract from approach angle at all?

Is the "high" setting back and bottom and "low" just bottom? Mine only had high and low settings and I never looked into if they heated different parts of the seat.

I have to agree, the heated seats in my QX4 took absolutely forever to warm up, but once they did they were nice. Mine heated the lower back a bit, not sure about the rear seats though. My drive to school is about 20 minutes and by the time I got there I was nice and comfortable, but not a minute sooner. I always wondered if they were better new, as well as if maybe the seat being leather slowed the heating? Because cloth seats don't get as cold as leather, so the heater doesn't have to warm the seat surface first as much I guess...all I know is the heated seats in my parent's cars (Tacoma and Escape) work way better, perhaps too well. If I left my Infiniti's heated seats on low once they got warmed up they never really got to be too warm and were comfortable for a long day in the woods. As much as I'd like some from the junkyard, I'm growing to enjoy the simplicity of manual cloth seats, and I think heated was only offered for leather. Plus in 6 or so months I've only seen 2 in junkyards. Must be worth too much to sell the parts that way.

Front and rear! Which is the #1 feature that my little brother complains about my 4Runner not having.

Did you mean a brush bar of some kind, or just a stinger that bolts to the plastic bumper cover? if it's the latter, here's a pic of a QX4 with such a thing (sorry for the poor lighting) parked next to my old QX4 which shows how good a proper bumper can look. (FYI mine only cost me $400, just need to find a fabricator who works for a decent price and does good work.)

Whatever that sorcery is works for me as well, not that knowing that helps much since everything else has worked for me as well... And yeah, I was wondering if it was FB related. Did the embedded thing I did in post #17 work for you?

That's certainly strange (and frustrating!). If anybody else has a moment to look at it and can say if it works for them it would be appreciated, or if you understand what's up that would be handy too!

Me too, I was gonna comment on that exactly! The style of the interior in these rigs matches the black and wood grain combo nicely.

Unfortunately I've heard a solid mixture of good and bad things about people's experiences with Tapatalk. Personally I just don't like the format of the app so I don't use it. Anyways, if you guys could try it on a regular browser to make sure the issue is resolved that would be cool.

I didn't use the forum's built in search feature, I never do unless I'm trying to find somebody's profile. I agree, it's very limited/challenging to use well. I put my searches in Google prefaced with NPORA to get as many results from this site as possible.

This is interesting to hear about. My QX4 didn't have one so I never looked into what it did, definitely sounds like something that should be taken into consideration when lifting!
