Final acceptance of TotM Nominations pics and winner submissions is at the sole discretion of the NPORA Moderation Team. 3. First 20 nominees are up for consideration and the nomination thread will be closed after the 20th submission or the 20th of the month, which ever comes 1st. Voting will be from 21st-31th. 4. One pic per nomination post, pics must have at least 640x480 of usable image space for use in the in the official boarder in the event that it wins the popular vote. All nominations are subject to the approval of the Mod Team and all decisions are final. An offroad setting or action pic is also preferred, but not necessary. 5. Only one truck nomination per member per month. 5a. If multiple people want to nominate the same truck, it is up to the nominee to decide on which pic to run with. In the absence of the nominee, the decision will be made by NPORA Moderating Team 6. Winner gets 3 pics of their choice of their Pathfinder pinned in the TOTM forum (PM me the links please) and is ineligible for the remainder of the calendar year. 6a. A Member can only win once a year - multiple pathfinders does not mean multiple wins. 7. No post whoring. 8. Not reading these rules may result in a zombie attack. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TOTM: THEMED MONTHS The idea was put forward by packie88 with then intention of getting people out in their pathys to get themed shots. It is only each alternate month that is themed, so you can post up whatever pic you want in the in between month (Some people will never see snow). It is a kind of rule, but a loose one. For example, water crossing nominations may be considered if there is a mud crossing, the truck is in water, or crossing the road in a torrential rainpour. If you post up a pic with no water in sight, then that will be removed. Below are the monthly themes: January Anything goes February Snow pic March Anything goes April Water crossing pic May Anything goes June Sand pic July Anything goes August Flex pic September Anything goes October Sunset pic November Anything goes December Mud pic This nomination thread is open through June 20 or until 20 submissions are reached (whichever comes first).
  2. Welcome to NPORA! Sorry, sometimes posts go unnoticed or nobody has a great suggestion to share. The transmission cooler isn't as big of an issue on these as it is with later Nissans (R51 Pathfinder and N50 Xterra) so the topic isn't extensively covered, but extra tranny coolers have been done on R50's (1996-2004 Pathfinder). Any generic cooler suitable for a midsize SUV should do, just find a place to mount it near the radiator. There was one particular kit from Amazon for pretty cheap that was popular for a little while but I've long since deleted that bookmark. Mounting will have to be custom pretty much whatever route you go.
  3. Man, that bull bar looks sweet! Factory bull bars just don't exist in the US, so I'm very envious. Sorry I can't help, just drooling!
  4. Wow, this is a great story, sounds like things really went great for ya lately! Looking forward to what you do with your R50, and very envious of your truck! Always liked those 10th gens.
  5. I will add a note that some NPORA members have complained of their AC system being lacking in hot climates (like the US southwest), but I doubt you'd be having that issue this time of year in Pennsylvania.
  6. Sounds like you have the auto climate control on your vehicle? 65 is a pretty standard lowest setting for vehicles with auto climate control from my experience, and it *should* be plenty cold if operating properly. Ensure the AC button is on when testing this (there is a button that lights up if I remember correctly). If AC is supposedly on and its still not very cold your AC system may need servicing.
  7. Welcome to NPORA! Sounds like you found a really nice Pathfinder to work with. At that mileage I doubt the timing belt has ever been done, and by mileage it is due. By time it is very overdue, so I highly recommend changing it as a priority (do a whole timing kit that will include water pump, tensioner, etc. as well). Regarding tires, there are a lot of excellent all terrain options. I see on your profile you live in New York, so I bet snow and ice traction is very important to you. Because of that I would limit your choices to: BF Goodrich KO2 Falken Wildpeak AT3W Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac The Falken tires will likely be the cheapest and will perform on par with the other two options, but exactly which tire you go with is up to you. I would research each, there are lots of articles online comparing those 3 tires as they are all very popular choices. Beyond timing belt and tires, I would inspect the vehicle very thoroughly and address anything mechanical that isn't in 100% condition. At only 94k miles, assuming the vehicle is not rusty especially on the undercarriage, you should have many many years left to enjoy it if cared for properly.
  8. Welcome to NPORA Dennis! Unfortunately there isn't a whole ton of information/active discussion on this forum regarding the R51 Pathfinder (2005-2012). I haven't had a deep look myself, but I have never seen an off-the-shelf ladder available for your exact vehicle. In my opinion your best bet will be to find a custom fab shop (especially one that deals with 4x4's and overlander builds a lot) to make you one custom. Roof rack ladders can be pretty expensive to buy so having one specially made will probably be pretty similar in cost if not cheaper. I assume you're looking for one that attaches to the rear hatch?
  9. Welcome to NPORA everybody! Sounds like y'all have some pretty cool rigs, look forward to y'all creating build threads as you mod em!

  12. Welcome to the forum! The R52 Pathfinder (model years 2013-current) doesn't get a lot of attention on this forum, so I'm not certain if you'll be able to get exactly the help you are looking for. I know some company's offer lift kits for that platform, such as Dobinsons, so I would start with a Google search and just see what you can learn. You'll want to stay relatively mild with whatever mods you do and what kind of conditions you put the car through, namely for CVT concerns as @Slartibartfast brought up. Maybe this particular thread can give you a starting point: https://www.pathfindertalk.com/threads/r52-lift-kit.23154/ Does you rear suspension seem to be sagging at all when towing the trailer and all loaded up? If so, helper air bags are a good option and can be very reliable if bought from a reputable company and installed well. Otherwise, sourcing springs with a higher spring rate than factory is a good option, such as from a company like Dobinsons. I will also echo Slart here as well though and suggest starting with seeing what you can do to simply raise the hitch ball. It's the least cool option, but definitely the most sensible.
  13. Banned for trying to get out of work! Get back to posting!

  15. As disappointing as their current 4x4 offerings are, I think Americans in general are sleeping on the Armada. Yeah it's massive for some trails, but from understanding it's just a rebadged and de-optioned Y62 Patrol. If it fits, they'll go anywhere, surprisingly capable for IFS/IRS. Overseas you can get them factory with a rear locker (maybe front too? idk), you'd think Nissan would offer a nicely optioned offroad version for the American market. They wouldn't sell a lot, but it would help their image some.
  16. Welcome! Glad you got the sign up handled, there were some issues with that for a little while unfortunately. Definitely share what you do to your rig as the weather warms up! Wow, sounds like a great find! A 1" rear spacer would definitely help bring the rear end up, but if you'd like to increase the load carry capacity at all I'd look into Old Man Emu springs or some Land Rover springs.
  17. Welcome! As @R50JR pointed out, if you're shopping 2003-2006 you're dipping into two very different vehicles. Honestly an R50 Pathfinder (1996-2004) isn't an especially competent tow rig, but if you get a later one with the 3.5L VQ V6 it'll most certainly do better than your Tacoma especially if yours is the 4 cyl. If you're interested in the 2005-2012 R51 Pathfinders my understanding is that they tow pretty good, especially if you find one with the V8. Welcome to NPORA, and happy shopping!
  18. Getting the tires to tuck into the wheel well but having enough clearance around the strut is a tricky balance. You can trim the QX4 fender flares a little bit to get about 1/2" more clearance, but that won't make a huge difference. (Take off the rounded edge back to the flat surface where it screws inside the wheel well.) What size tires did you get installed with those wheels? If you're willing to switch out wheels and tires entirely, going for skinny tires will definitely help, such as 33x10.5R17.
