AC 4 Inch Spindle Lift Kit Price: $685.00
mjotrainbrain replied to skywhr's topic in 2005-2012 R51 Pathfinders
Without linking to it I don't know exactly what the kit being discussed looks like, but if I had to guess that's only suitable for 2WD vehicles as is the case for most spindle lifts. -
Fantastic looking Pathy! I dig the wheels.

rear coil spring options for Large custom lift.
mjotrainbrain replied to WD21colorado's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Wow, those are some beefy bumpers! I can't remember exactly now, but I think I remember reading that WD21 and R50 coils can be used interchangeably? That could be totally incorrect though. If that is right, coils from Land Rovers are an option which have a ton of variety available, I'm sure you could find something that meets your required specifications from that. -
Moved to R50 section for greater visibility.

@R50JR is that an ARB bumper on the Infiniti? It looks really slick.

It's been a long time. Back for some help.

I'm in the Grand Rapids area, your profile shows you're in Parshallville? I haven't really hit up any of the offroad parks (except for Rocks and Valleys 3 or 4 years ago), but I do enjoy exploring Manistee National Forest. I've been thinking about heading towards West Branch to do some of the trails there. -

Howdy fellow Michigan guy! Definitely check the condition of the strut towers and other locations on the underside for corrosion damage. I'm not suggesting all hope is gone if its rusty down there by any means, but you'll definitely want to know what you're up against as you dig back into your project. As far as replacement parts, finding clean ones is tricky in Michigan. Unfortunately due to their resale value these vehicles have become largely disposable, and Michigan road conditions throughout the year don't help that up here. When I had my QX4 I frequently found useable parts at pick-and-pulls in the Grand Rapids area, they all have online inventories with pictures. Here's the 4 I've been to, it may be worth the drive if they've got the parts you need: Weller Self Serve (it's not uncommon for these guys to have 1/2 off days): https://www.wellerselfserve.com/ LKQ Holland: https://www.lkqpickyourpart.com/locations/LKQ_Pick_Your_Part_-_Holland-346/recents/ LKQ Grand Rapids: https://www.lkqpickyourpart.com/locations/LKQ_Pick_Your_Part_-_Grand_Rapids-348/recents/ Lucky's Self Serve (just opened this year): https://luckyselfserve.com/ I'm in a Toyota now but I know a few Nissan guys in the state, if you ever want to go wheeling let me know! -
mjotrainbrain's Build Thread
mjotrainbrain replied to mjotrainbrain's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I probably could have updated this sooner, but here's the update on my old QX4. It's now 100% guaranteed that I'll never get it back, pretty sure it's scrapped. I saw it pop up for sale a few times over the spring, with the price slowly decreasing. Eventually I began to see listings on Facebook for it being parted out, and now all signs of it are gone. It kinda sucks, but it seems appropriate. The unibody held up the whole time from what I understand, but I can't imagine the strut towers had very many more miles in them. From the final for sale posts, I gather that it was ran very hard towards the end, as it had a busted passenger side mirror, some body damage, and a hyrolocked engine. At least it went out in 4x4 with mud flying! Seems very fitting, a very different end to it's mechanical life than where it started on the luxury car lot. Just figured some of y'all would appreciate a final update, and it does finish up this thread finally. I believe I have screenshots of some of the for-sale ads, which I'll add here when I find them. -
Wow, that's really a really clean Pathy! The mods look good too.
-
Geez that's huge! Now that it's been done for a while, what are your thoughts? Anything you'd still like to change, or would do different next time? How well does it go down the road, any big issues with shaking or death wobble? I'd imagine that little V6 is struggling with those meats, even with good gearing.
-
That's a slick winch setup!

Not great odds that you'll get on a reply on a 5 year old post, so I'll throw my 2 cents out there. Looks like engineering paper to me, which would have 0.2" spacing on the grids.
-
I know @fleurys used to make them years ago, that's where I got mine. I think he stopped making them though. Maybe he has a few left?

This is an intentional feature of the forum, you're not supposed to attach pictures that way, hence why the file size limit is so small. IIRC that option only exists because it came along with a forum update a little while ago. If NPORA hosted everybody's pictures in addition to everything else, that would massively increase the cost of running the server. You'll need to host your pictures externally (there's several free services online to do this, don't use PhotoBucket) and insert the image by URL using the tool in the post editor. There's a couple how-to's in the pics and videos section of the forum. Let me know if you have further questions.

September voting ends in 10 hours, make sure to get your vote in, 2 great trucks this month!
-
Gonna keep that last set on there? (5th gen 4Runner Trail Edition wheels right? Maybe just SR5 wheels, idk) It looks sharp, kinda blingy but not too much in my opinion. Makes the whole truck look a bit newer.
-
That is some seriously good information, thanks man! Any chance you have recommendations on something that would store better in a car? I just like to have something with me for emergencies, but I hope I don't need it regularly, so I don't want to be throwing out MRE's every now and again. Perhaps I could just swap out the MRE annually and eat the old one.
-
I don't carry nearly as much as I used to, unless I go wheeling obviously. Basic recovery gear (mostly for winter, but it stays in year-round) Jumper cables (pretty much the only thing I ever actually need) An MRE (which I forgot was in there for a while...I wonder when it expires, do they??) Camp chair (waiting for people in style ?) Almost always have a camera with me too, but that doesn't live in the car. Just the stock tire change tools, but I don't even have a spare...with all the crap I had in there before, I lost all the utility of the vehicle due to having a full trunk, and I'd have to go get my keys and walk outside everytime I needed a screwdriver, so no more toolboxes or spare parts live in the trunk.

Well it's certainly kept me trapped on this forum for the past 2 years, despite not having a Nissan for quite a while now lol. Nobody's been naughty lately, my shackles and whips are getting dusty. ? -
As @R50JR said, that page isn't associated with this forum in any way other than name and some member overlap. If you need help with pics feel free to reach out, or check out one of the how-to's posted in the pics and vids section of the forum! While the option to upload (very small) pictures to the forum exists, this feature is greatly limited intentionally to save server space. The solution for NPORA posting is to host the pictures externally and share them using the image's direct link and the post editor's built in tool to embed them.

Even with camber bolts, it is extremely unlikely that you will be able to align it with over 2.5" of lift without an SFD. CV axle angle is far from the only issue related to lifting, so you're not a ton better off with a 2wd. A 2.5" spacer lift in the front should be a safe and alignable option for your rig.

Looks meaty!

Sounds like it'll be a nice truck!
