  1. Wow! Now I wish I had pics of when mine melted....
  2. I'd say don't bother with Haynes or Chiltons and go straight to the source with a FSM.
  3. Check your fluids afterwords (including diffs) for signs of water and change accordingly after the trip as well.
  4. Never seen one crack, but I've melted the whole top off mine before.
  5. Good luck! Please let us know what the process is like. I have similar feelings towards most of my cars, and letting my pathfinder go was very hard for me.
  6. I have the full foglight harness out of my 92 in the garage, if needed for reference. Without looking at it, I seem to recall that the purple wire tapped into another wire under the dash for power to the switch or relay.
  7. I don't recall a need to swap t cases.
  8. I never exceed about 15, maybe 20. I seem to recall reading the limit is really your rpms.
  9. Interesting, I'm gonna have to try this on my next pathfinder. I have an entire center console in my garage that I was planning to cut up to use a Jeep console on the next rig.
  10. Is it fairly stable? I've looked at those time and time again and had doubts.
  11. Pictures while driving are bad! I see so many accidents out in la from phones while driving!
  12. That sounds very possible. On a side note I checked all the big auto parts houses, all newly made heated mirrors look to be chrome.
  13. Oil grade depends on the weather where you live IMO, and change intervals depend on driving style IMO. As far as filters, anything but Fram extra guard, I'm leary of the cardboard endcaps in them. I prefer Valvoline since it goes on sale at the FLAPS by my house, Wix oil filters too.
  14. I don't think there are any WD21 heated mirrors. At least in my search I never found any. I've seen people buy power mirrors for other cars and make them heated, that could be a route worth looking into if you drive enough. I was gonna try it on my Pathy before I scrapped it.
  15. Need a double O/D trans most likely, and even then that probably wouldn't help.
  16. About three years ago my cat got cut out. When the PD told me how much it was probably worth I about keeled over.
  17. So, the spare interferes with the boat trailer? Move the spare inside, or is a hitch extension a viable alternative?
  18. I'll be eyeing your posts to see how those tires do exbrit. I've been told Geolanders have flimsy sidewalls but three flailings at Calico later and a load of wheel/sidewall rash the sidewalls are fine. Might just be perspective....or luck...
  19. Here's my .02. Anyone who does serious wheeling and uses a bumper, slider, or any other part as a tank is asking for trouble. The last thing you need is your rear bumper going pop while you're wheeling. Get a tank, and mount it inside, or outside. If you mount it underside, get a skid plate for it.
  20. Jeep had new fuel pump, tank and lines about 4k miles ago. About 3k miles after all that was installed, I changed the filter and found a ton of garbage in it. I'm pretty sure my fuel pressure actually went up after a new filter was installed.
  21. I'd beg to differ, but since I have no pictures, it doesn't mean much.
