  1. Lol. My first time it was about 8 hours. I had an actual mechanic helping me though. We managed to get the engine out without removing the front diff, but had to slide the trans back. I'm not sure what would be easier.
  2. The pins on mine are seized as well. When I got the truck, they weren't and the door pins seemed tight. I assume over the 6 months it sat they seized and the wear was accelerated. Where did you get the hinge plates? The plastic @!*% on the striker is getting all chewed up because of this.
  3. Where in BC are you? I was out there in September. (drove my pathy there) The gas was more expensive. Right now here it is 1.05/L for regular 87. You can't really find ethanol free 87 around here anymore. LittleFR, a 96 cavalier? Don't see many of those anymore around here, they're all rotted away, just like the wd21 pathys. My solution to commuting to work was to move within 5 miles of my job and work from home 2-3 days a week. Of course not everyone can.
  4. Ah yes that part. I don't know of any replacement parts. I am still trying to source used ones out of a cleaner truck. You might have to do the same.
  5. If the timing belt marks are lined up and the ignition timing is good when warm, then you must have an issue with a plug or plug wire somewhere. You could always try turning the distributor a little while its running to see if it runs better.
  6. That piece looks like the rocker panels. You can get aftermarket pieces for cheaper. But they don't fit that great and you need to "modify" them a little to work.
  7. I don't understand the logic in this. The vehicle needs premium (91 usually) for best performance. Say you fill up 18 gallons each time. 40.5 for regular at your price, and 45.9 for 93 (91 would be cheaper). That's a $5.40 difference. Is the mileage/performance hit really worth that? That being said 91 would be cheaper than 93. Just trying to understand. I have an 02 Xterra supercharged, and always run 91 in it. My parents have a maxima that gets 2-3mpg less if you run cheap gas. Not worth it IMO. And don't complain to me about gas prices because I pay 4.00 a gallon for regular
  8. Mine did what slartibartfast's do. And through 2 pathys it was always the passenger door causing the problem. The timer can be an issue too. But I ended up taking both front door panels off, cleaning the @!*% out of everything, and then lubing it all up. The locks have some sort of magnet sensor that tells it to unlock the rest when you turn the key twice. Maybe there was @!*% all over it, I don't know, but now the lock goes up all the way every time, and no more passengers locking the doors when they open it.
  9. I put my lowers in with a vice and grease, but the uppers I had to cut (again before the splits existed). I'd go for the splits next time for sure!
  10. Stab a screwdriver through the side and use it to turn the filter. Never had to do it on the pathy. But I have on the VW.
  11. Take off the distributor cap, see if rotors turns. If not, suspect timing belt. If it does, check ignition coil and the distributor itself.
  12. I'm so confused on what you just wrote! Come do it for me, ill give you beer!
  13. Maybe, I did the passenger side but I haven't been able to free the pins on the drivers side which sucks. We'll see if that set is okay.
  14. Lmao I have never even owned a set of ramps. Even my stock height X and pathy I can change the oil in 10 minutes without raising it an inch. I don't like to piss around wasting time though. My original 95 I paid a shop to do the studs, it was stock then. They said it was a bitch but they replaced them all and I never had an issue. My 94 came with the 3" body lift (thank fskc because it is a pain to install), and a member here and his mechanic did the studs, I was really sick with crohns at the time so I just watched. And the current 95 I had, well I put a new motor in so I made sure they were all good before installing it, lol.
  15. The easiest way is to weld a nut to them. Turned right out after.
  16. They should fit fine, I know someone who is using those wheels on an X.
  17. Get an angle grinder! You can get them for like 20 dollars on sale at crappy tire or princess auto. Do they have princess auto in quebecixco?
  18. One thing I did on mine was installed 2 gaskets, and place one with the ears facing up (so the parts with the bolt holes are vertical). What happens is the flanges bend ever so slightly so it never seals in the middle. This takes up the space without spacing it out further at the bolt ends.
  19. Those flanges are rotted. The flanges should be like 3/16" thick. I would just replaced the Y pipe and intermediate pipe. They are not that expensive on rock auto. Trust me you will be replacing gasket after gasket and no amount of rtv sealer will hold it together.
  20. If you wanted to use 6.5" rounds you can use those holes that are in the door sheetmetal.
  21. Texas has 85 mph speed limits. Montana has 80. I was there in September. My wd21 was revving about 3500 but it ran that all day no issues. http://www.ghsa.org/state-laws/issues/Speeding-and-Aggressive-Driving
  22. Does it leak now? I still the think pacesetters were worse. Mine came with egr bung not in the right spot, warped y pipe flange, and I ended up welding the y pipe to the header tubes because no clamps could stop the leaks.
