  1. Too many damn stickers. My ebrake works fine.
  2. That is the same one my Xterra SC has. The oem one is a black all one piece unit. Go with that.
  3. How well does the parking brake work with the cable at an angle like that? Any binding?
  4. I think most times I've wheeled with 2nd Gen xterras at least one person has a problem with the diff, or the locker not turning off, or the diff cover getting bent on rocks, losing all their fluid. My H233B has 438,000km (I've owned it since 240,000) on it and it has never been opened up AFAIK. I bought a complete set of 4.9 xterra gears from a member here so that will be the first time it has come out of the truck. The 2005+ trucks feel cheaply made and I don't think the extra power is worth the headache of the timing chain guide issues, and whatever other problems they have. People can pry my wd21 and wd22 from my cold dead fingers lol.
  5. What about swapping in the diff from a wd21, or an xterra? The mounts should be similar. Then you can use all of the gear "options".
  6. Most of the time it isn't that they are worn, it is that previous owners (likely your average suburban idiot) did not change the oil on time, if at all, drove mainly short trips, or just plain treated it like @!*%, which causes them not to pump up with oil. The ATF cleans the @!*% out and allows them to work properly again. Mine has 438,000km and the lifters make no noise at all. Maybe on a cold start in -30 but that is it. Once and a while I will dump a quart of ATF in and drive it hard for 30 minutes, then change the oil. I only use mobil1 synthetic in mine.
  7. I never have a problem. Are you sure it is 38? The two I have here are DA 31 and 25. One has a black thing on it like factory the other is just a metal key.
  8. There are little plastic clip like things that hold the lock rods to the lock cylinder. I don't have a pic, but if you take the door panel off you'll see what I mean. And whatever is broken will probably be pretty obvious. There probably is no fob I don't think that year came with it. unless it has an aftermarket alarm or something. You could leave the locks as manual, does the key not work in the passenger side? Does it turn a little, not at all, or does it just go around in circles?
  9. Jesus just buy new calipers and get it over with man. I didn't bother pissing around with that @!*% for more than 5 minutes.
  10. Actually the tether anchor bolts in almost near the tailgate. Look and you'll see a flap of carpet that flips up. There is a bolt there you remove and replace with the anchor. Source: My ex gf had a kid and made me buy it from nissan. The instructions showed it going there.
  11. i had the monroe one for years and it is still fine, sitting on the shelf with the pin right now. It doesn't take as much abuse as the shocks do. I have a rancho one on there now but only used it because it came with my steering kit from 4x4parts.
  12. Any of the 4x4, 4 speed autos that came in an xterra, pathfinder, or hardbody will fit with the exception of the VQ35 powered r50 pathys. They are all the same trans case with some small differences in gear ratio for the later years. I am running a 2002 Xterra trans in my 94 pathy. It works great. Just plugged right in. It doesn't matter if it is an xe se or le the drivetrain was all the same...I don't know how the 2wd ones work.
  13. I wouldn't have touched those. I don't trust them not to snap off or not seal properly on installation.
  14. I hate to be a dick, but please tell me you told the person you sold it to that it burned oil??
  15. On mine when it had been sitting for a few days I was able to remove an injector and there was no pressure behind it at all. I'd go for it.
  16. And this is the type that is on the Xterra (same as newer pathy 3.3)
  17. I have only ever seen one starter on the wd21 v6 pathy. Auto parts store people tend to be stupid...Sorry for the weird picture sizes but this may help. I would think any of them would fit since the blocks are the same and you can interchange the flywheels between them. This is what it should look like: If it is out of a newer (3.3L) it will look like this:
  18. You can buy the bushings for those from 4x4parts.com. They still make those UCA's under their name.
  19. You could always get the rad drop down kit from 4x4parts and keep your manual fan. That is what I have and it works great. I have an E-fan but I went back to the stock one after blowing 2 controllers...Maybe I could have waterproofed it better but whatever.
  20. May as well change it if you have the parts. I have had a few wd21's and never had the knock sensor fail. If it were me I would give it a good cleaning down there and replace all the rubber like you're planning. Maybe the bypass hose if you can reach it from there.
  21. If you follow the wire for the connector in your hand I believe it leads to the AC compressor..
  22. Yeah I don't know what happened there. It is like they changed it to be embedded into the page instead of a link to the file. I can only view it on my PC as well. Can you try wiggling that MAF sensor connector and wiring? That is a common problem on these and will cause those exact symptoms. Actually do that to all connectors in the engine bay that are plugged into sensors. If it makes any change, suspect the connector, wiring, or corrosion on the pins.
  23. I have had mine since 2009, and this is the 2nd pathy they have been on. At least 100k on them. They are a little soft now but they were great when new. Lifetime warranty so I got 2 new ones waiting to go on. I got a set of Bilsteins (5125 series) from someone on here and they look nice but I could not justify the price of new ones. I am planning on installing those on my Xterra.
  24. I know the rancho rs5112 fit right onto the stud of mine. No problems at all. I think they're mostly all the same size.
  25. My time on the weekend is worthless so I will piss around with my lifted pathy because "close enough" is good enough. On my DD I take it somewhere because unlike my wheeler pathy, it doesn't get much abuse or part changes.
