  1. Yeah, I put the link to that in this thread already.
  2. Yeah, until GM bought them they were very unique and distinctive cars, and made at a class level equaling BMW, Jaguar, and Mercedes. No one wanted another GM clone car, especially an ugly over priced one.
  3. Back space is measured from the outside edge of the rim to the mounting surface of the wheel. Offset is usually the amount the mounting surface is different from the center line of the rim front to back.
  4. Yes, it should come off the shaft like that. The play in it might mean the woodruf key is worn, or it's groove in the crank shaft has worn. You can try some PB Blaster and a little pressure with a prybar from behind it, not too much though. Avoid a jaw puller as you can mess up the gear teeth.
  5. I actually bought an allen key socket to work on mine. Just reassemble it with anti-seize on the screws and keep the allens.
  6. Could be that the BFG tire is a softer compound than the other tires you have.
  7. Yeah, 92 and older had ones like that (mounted either under the bumper or on the guard), they had a single bolt through the back of the unit.
  8. First off, learn your lesson to not haull ass on a dirt road? With the front end up, grab the driver's side wheel and turn it by hand watch where the center link and pitman arm meet. The only movement there should be side to side. If you see the center link twist up before moving it is shot and you have found your play. That little bit of upward movement translates into a lot of dead space feel in the wheel.
  9. I think the "standard" aftermarkt steel wheels are at 4"BS.
  10. I can tell you this wire is what goes to the AT ECU from the main ECU: (Looked into ECU relocation, ended up tupper waring it.)
  11. I had one like that on my 88, ended up snapping the screw and having to redrill and tap it.
  12. WTF?! Did you mess with it? It still has who's post I quoted and when they had posted it....oddball sheet!
  13. You shouldn't jerk while driving!
  14. I had threads in all mine, even the white 2dr B .
  15. Whew, you got lucky, some people got the ones that only power down and need to be cranked back up by hand. (so the naive don't think I'm serious.)
  16. [quote name='Kingman' date='14 December 2009 - 01:26 AM' timestamp='1260772005' post='454553' First thing to do is disconnect the rest of the steering system from the box and see if it's still binding up. If not then it's something else, if so then it's the box, pump, or shaft somewhere. Damn Nissans... Or jack up the front and try turning it and see if turns easier...first step, no disassembly required. Hell, with that much play your CL might be shot and binding on the frame when you try to turn.
  17. Usually what ends up squeaking most on mine are the door stop arms. They are about halfway between the hinges, they get dry and rub on the door side.
  18. So, rather than trim the metal, you bent it. Same deal, no matter the lift they'll rub there. My 31s rub there with 4" of lift (though only when in an off camber turning situation).
