  1. You are about to embark on a very frustrating but worthwhile journey. My least favourite memories were the two top bolts on the engine/transmission, not to mention the studs on the manifold or the little steel coolant lines on the rear of the engine that bolt to the throttle body. Don't make the mistake I made and ASSume that the ring gear on the new engine is the same as the old one! Mine wasn't and it cost me hours of labor. Good luck, you can email me if you get stuck jesse.livingston@hotmail.com
  2. My 89 came stock with 31's but my 93 needed the removal of some esthetic pieces to make them fit? I had to take off the corner pieces of the metal skirting that sits below the bumper and wraps around to the fender. You'll need at minimum of 5" lift, whether body or suspension or combination to fit biiger tires as well as some off set rims, but it can be acomplished on a limited budget. Have fun with it and don't rush anything.
  3. Thanks for the reply, you got an awesome looking Pathfinder there.
  4. That sounds awesome, I look forward to seeing the results...
  5. old camaro? my mom had a camaro, it was the first car i drove! first car i did a dougnut in, first car i wrapped the speedo around in, absolutely no suspension, but nothing could keep up in the corners... unless it was raining, or even a little damp! i can still remember that suttle growl in the engine. I think i got to go get one!
  6. awesome truck, looks mint, interesting two-tone. you will have many years and many miles of memories with that one! congrats.
  7. Has anyone on this site installed after market cams? Been doing some research and it seems they be the best bang for buck? Also I recommend checking out http://www.motoiq.com/Projects/ProjectNissanPathfinder/tabid/104/Default.aspx Seems to be a pretty solid rebuild. Any one installed the Calmini steering upgrade?
  8. My advice is too let the old one go respectfully. I know it was a really nice lookin stock deck, but they have become so cheap these days I'd suggest saving your frustration for bigger projects! Good luck.
  9. Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate the advise.
  10. A friend of mine has the same problem! Only in his truck it's when ever he is breaking. He had a mechanic look it up and down but still hasn't found anything! You would think you would find major belt wear if the power steering pump was to blame? Good luck and let us all know when you find the problem!
  11. Hey back. Tips... Hmm, all I can suggest is head out and fins some ditches, hills, rocks, washouts... whatever and drive through them. Example. Drive into a ditch partially, get out and examine your suspension so you can get an idea of how it works when offroading. You will learn the limits quickly and believe me I have been pulled out of the muck many times! Lots of good road up Arro...

  12. Hey Mate, I took notice that you live in parksville, I have seen you booting around in your finder around town, as for being new at off roading wondering if you got some tips for me or if your keen on maybe doing some finder wheelin...

  13. First off if there is no such thing as a "positive locker" someone should let Calmini know because they are selling a "The LockRight positive locking differential is second to none." Second off, time and time again I will read a fellow Pathfinder owners question and will repeatedly see the reply of "SEARCH" over and over again. I don't care how many times I get asked the same question, I wont forward someone to a response from a similiar question asked who knows how long ago. I have been a Pathfinder owner for 10 years and would be happy to take the time to write a few words down to a fellow owner in hopes of making their experience a little less frustrating. I'm just looking for some input from someone who has had some experience with a posi rear end and if anyone has the time to write a few words on the subject it would be greatly appreciated. The funny thing is my reply to all this "SEARCHING" has given a greater response than the question??? I really don't understand? I have done 4 timing belts, 2 starters, replaced an engine, pulled injectors, repacked bearings, brakes, hubs, electrical issues, resoldered fuel pump terminals, replaced gas tank, radiator, hard wired starter, body lift, suspension lift, wheel alignment, exhaust, stereo and on and on. If anyone has any questions or needs some help I am more than happy to help you. I will not reply "SEARCH", I will reply "here's something that helped me"... So next time someone askes for some infortmation, if you have nothing to add... don't.
  14. If anyone has installed a diff locker I would like some feedback on tire wear, handling etc?
  15. Maybe I'm just stupid but what is the point in posting something if all anyone can say is "SEARCH". Well searching is what led me to this website in the first place! Yes I can search and read stuff from people decades ago or I can ask a question and get some real time input. I did search and my post was the only one that came up??? I wonder if some people even drive pathfinders on this site, seems like some just wait to see and how un-helpfull they can be! Really what's the point of having this website at all if that's the only feedback you get! Whatever.
