I thought Adamzan would have chimed in but he seems to be AWOL... B

Did you get the bolts that hold some of the linkage guides behind the drivers side frame rail? B

Quite frankly, I'd much rather have them bend than snap and I suspect Nissan felt the same way. B

Glad it was something relatively straight forward! B

Nissan pathfinder 94 VG30E engine alternatives
Precise1 replied to lnuxxunl's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Your engine is the VG30E as you know. The engine you should try to find out of the Navara and Terrano is the VG33E, an almost identical big brother. It bolts to the transmission the same so no issues there, the only thing is the mounts for the alternator and/or air conditioning are different and there is a difference with the crank pully as well. Otherwise it is virtually plug and play. Take all the components off of the VG30 and out them on the VG33. It is a fairly common upgrade here in the US. For a little extra power, put the cams from the VG30 into the VG33. I'm sure you could do all this with a little help. There are several threads on the swap, I'll try to provide a link later... B -
Rear Spring Options For Lifting Your WD21 Pathy
Precise1 replied to 88pathoffroad's topic in How-To's
Yep, I find my WD21 rides nicely, if not better with the JGC springs. Not harsh or jarring, but shocks will influence that as well. Stinka, I measured the diameter of the coil for another member yesterday and they were .545". The only othe factor would be the length (after you cut off the pigtail if necessary). Unfortunately I don't have the OAL, but I am POSITIVE it is been discussed and recorded here as well. The question is where... B -
Nissan pathfinder 94 VG30E engine alternatives
Precise1 replied to lnuxxunl's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
^What he said is absolutely your best bet. It should bolt right in and you can use most all the equipment from the VG30 as well. I hope you can find one! B -
Check out RuggedRocks, he has some custom and adjustable links available that may just be what you need, and will be cheaper than $1300! That's insane. No way in hades would I ever agree to that. Yes, poly will probably limit flex some, but realistically, I can't believe it to be significant, and they should last a long time. Sorry I don't have any first hand data... IIRC, some people have burned out the old bushings and pressed in new factory bushings. This would be the way to go if none of the above options are agreeable to you. B

I think he's saying that the most GPS are one way receivers, cell phones are a different animal due to being transmitters and that it's not a valid comparison. This is his area of expertise from what I understand and what he says makes sense. Ok, maybe there are web sites and services available to track a non transmitting GPS, I don't know about that, but I'd do a lot of research and experimentation before trusting it to be my lo-jack. Saying it's software not hardware doesn't really make sense in this comparison of apples and oranges. B

I'll happily OH WELL your account into the void if you insist on being flippant with me. That is a WD21 with a trailmaster lift, a 3" body lift, some additional lift tweaking, flares removed, some sheet metal cut and way oversized tires to make it as tall as possible. Check out Slicks old rig for a twin... B

Kyle, you twit, we are trying to teach Chaz, not watch you post for him! B

I have experienced catastrophic battery failure before. Started/ran fine, drove to work (2 miles), after work it wouldn't start and battery only showed 6 volts. One of the cells failed...Remove the battery have it charged and load tested. While the battery is out, check the positive and ground connections. Says the Escort owner/driver... B

Sounds like you got ripped off! B

Everything helps, but I suspect it would depend on the design and how it's bolted on to determine how much and in what manner. B
-
All valid items. A timing belt issue will not be intermittent and does not trigger the check engine light so I'm sure that's not the issue. Good that you changed it though, you should be good for another 105k miles. B

^ Like he said+ a lift in front as well, if not a sub frame drop. Tire size VS Lift info has been compiled in the R50 section under FAQ, authored by fleurys so I highly recommend going there and reading up. B

2 notes: several people have been able to scoot back the tranny enough to replace the clutch and I know I'd try that before I pulled it entirely, and unless you know the flywheel is damaged, I'd wait to see how it looks before I replace it. I traded mine in for a resurfaced unit at a local Napa for about the same a machine shop would charge; $70 IIRC. JamesRich made a good point about things needing shimming if this is done due to the difference in thickness, but I guess I was lucky as I never had an issue for the next 30k+ I put on it, even after the accident... The biggest arguement against having it machined is time and gas. Getting a quote, dropping it of, picking it up, etc. If you can walk in to a parts house with the old one as a core and just grab another, it's more efficient to me. (your favorite emote ) B

You obviously know better than I. If anything does trip for any reason, you have to manually activate the on/off switch to reset it, again like a GFI. It does mean I have to test it... B

Yes, the defroster is surface mounted. Only thing that doesn't make sense is that there was a total body change from 1995 to 1996, WD21 to R50. The rear glass looks much the same but the bottom (widest point) for the WD21 is 55" and only 54" on the R50. I looked at my WD21 and only counted 8 holes as this schematic shows. The R50 has 10 holes, 2 more for the interior mounted 3rd brake light. Your autoglass guys are screwing up or misinformed. You need a 1995 and earlier WD21 rear glass with 8 holes, 55" wide at the bottom. You're lucky I own both so I can walk out to the driveway with a tape measure and scratch my head... B

I figured it would be a bit stiff and hard to get into. B

31x10.5x15" would be 267/76/15 rounded. 245/75/16 from the OP would be 30.5x9.65x16" rounded, so yeah, it should be ok. I had my coffee already... B

I was hoping. I know my 4x4 light gave me some weird flickers when disengaging before. B

I didn't see a reply, did you try this? B

Well, that's the best possible scenario, isn't it? B
