Factory Color Options And Production Numbers
beastpath replied to Chymos's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
There are tons of those ugly red interiors around here. I just did the speaker panel mod, it will fit in your pathfinder, but you need to take the crossbrace that the speaker panel mounts to from the donor car too -
I disagree with that somewhat. If the transmissions are in good condition I don't see why they wouldnt work still. The same transmissions were used in the R50 - and they had 30 more HP stock in the VG33 models and even more in the 3.5L version.

best way is to use long extensions and wobble sockets unless you go through the shifter. its not that bad really
-
Its really not that bad of a job. A friend helped me do it and I had almost no mechanical knowlege at the time. I was really surprised how straight forward it was. Like everyone said, make sure you bag everything and take your time. I would say that 2 people working on it at a time is enough. Not much room to have a 3rd person. If you are going to install headers or cams now is the time to do it too.

module? The coil could be the problem as the engine turns over several times before it starts
-
Pulled my codes last night and got code 21: Ignition Where should I start with looking at this? Could it be something as simple as the cap and rotor?
-
nothing pops out. its a complete unit and the shaft just slides into the transmission
-
Yeah thats the stuff that Rockauto sells too. Apparently all aftermarket carpets are made by Auto Custom Carpets. I have just read a few bad things about them and wanted to know if anyone had any experience with them. Lots of mustang guys swear by them, and its the stuff carpet shops put into cars so I'm thinking its probably good.

just the front section where it has worn out under peoples feet. I'll have to look at a few more yards, but the ones I have been to so far dont have the right color. lol, its still more comfortable and better to look at than bare metal.
-
I'm guessing no one has ever replaced their carpet, lol

before I rush out to find a manual steering box is it confirmed that this mod will work on a truck with no body lift?
-
Yeah, I've got a pretty good roof rack/lights, hi-lift etc. Definitely want the bigger air compressor when I do the ARB lockers. Will be getting the sliders pretty soon courtesy of my GF, and I would love a rear bumper - similar to the one KMA makes but cheaper haha.
-
my calmini brace works too. however the point is we would like other options - cheaper if possible. calminis drop down bracket is downright expensive. we also need a place to put the 02 sensor on the midpipe so that option wont work.
-
pitman is a different spline/diameter thats why calmini has 2 different kits for their setups. small diameter and large

Has anyone bought new replacement carpet before? Charcoal = gray for our trucks right? I want to replace my passenger compartment carpet because its falling apart in the front. Rock Auto has Molded cut pile or vinyl for $160 or they have a Mass back option for $208. Does the Mass Back actually provide good insulation/sound deadening or am I better off putting dynomat in there?

JGC console in an '87 Pathfinder
beastpath replied to jj big shoe's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
these pics dont seem to be working anymore -
spent several hours using the "Ding King" to remove the dent from my rear door. Worked for the most part but there is still a small indentation. I ran out of time to do it so hopefully with a few more pops it will look almost perfect. The annoying thing was that I had to go back and exchange the "Ding King" about 1/2 way through as the damn thing split in the middle.

Thanks for all the input guys. It gave me a lot to think about. Your input has made me see it's more cost effective at the moment for me to do a series of smaller things over the next few months than to spend a lot on a locker. Even a winch is wasted money right now as I hardly get myself into situations where I would need one. So for now I'm going to throw my resources at fine tuning what my truck looks like and fixing/upgrading multiple smaller things that I have on the list. Then hopefully with any graduation presents I get I'll do the locker around September of this year. My short list (in no particular order): 1. Panhard dropdown bracket 2. CB Radio 3. Recessed Sub box 4. Redo Tint (before it becomes like a furnace again in AZ) 5. Rock sliders 6. Front carpet 7. Alarm 8. Integrated tool box 9. Centerlink/Manual steering box upgrade 10. Perhaps a new stereo head unit After this stuff is done I'll worry about a locker. Thanks for putting everything in perspective.

Sunroof And Off Road Lights Not Working Together
beastpath replied to kingsnake's topic in General Forums
until you find a factory one you could fab up your own from cardboard or something. -
Headlights BOTH randomly go off, and turn back on?
beastpath replied to zeppelindrummer's topic in The Garage
i doubt its your switch. mine does that too every once in a while. they work fine for the longest time, and then randomly they wont work, then the next day they will. its probably a connection somewhere along the way that gets loose sometimes. -
modified my original post to include the fact I already have a winch bumper and to include a poll.
-
So with my tax return I was thinking about getting an ARB for the rear end. That way I could swap it in when I changed the gearing. However, I was told by a guy that I should get a winch instead as I already have LSD and the winch would be a better investment for me at the moment. I already have a winch bumper. Or I could spend all the money on the little things I have on my list like rock sliders, etc. What do you guys think? Does a locker outweigh a winch? or should I wait on both of these and do the little things first?
-
I think he meant the price is a good thing compared to JWT. sucks about delta, but the cost difference isnt too bad, and if they work out they would be another option for us to do.
-
Pretty sure you would still be liable. It's probably internationally copyrighted. Might be cheaper to have your friend in Brazil export them to you (a limited # shipped as "gifts" would avoid import/export taxes).

Auto Lockin Hubs?or Just A Wiring Prob?
beastpath replied to pathfinderfisherman's topic in The Garage
the light is wired to a switch on the transfercase. it should be on the passenger side of the truck. the auto hubs dont have anything to do with the transfer case engaging, but if the trans case doesnt engage the front diff, the auto hubs cant engage. is your trans case lever hooked up all the way? You could just have a blown 4x4 light, and the auto hubs might be bad too.
