  1. If you are thrifty you can do it a whole lot cheaper than 6K. Craigslist is a great resource for parts, or complete parts rigs. And most of the cost will simply be fabrication as it will ALL be custom. If you are handy with a welder, and are patient...as well as have the ability to leave your rig on jack stands for an extended period of time (a second vehicle perhaps) then you are golden. No greater way to learn then to dive in head first!!! And the best part... There are pathy's EVERYWHERE so if you screw something up, more than likely a local yard will have what you need. Good luck!
  2. Good write up! I wish I did not have the sun roof, made my install quite interesting!
  3. Or one could grab some of the oval LED amber turn signals that come with the rubber grommet and then either pop rivet, weld or zip screw a piece of plate steel over the exisiting housing holes (after removing the housing), then mount the new LED oval's in the newly mounted plate...
  4. Hey bro, welcome to the forums... Your questions have all been answered before in various parts of the forums, so I would suggest utilizing the search feature as well. As for another angle to answer some of the suspension questions: Do you have welding, cutting and fabbing tools/experience? If so, then your already ahead of the game. First things first, do your suspension wether it is a straight axle conversion or just going with the t bar crank and UCA's. The reason I say this (and I speak from experience) is that if you decide to do a motor swap (especially if your going to a 4.3) then you will need to be sure that the new motor's oil pan and accessories will clear the stock suspension. I have experienced both the IFS (and its problems) and gone to the other end with a solid axle conversion as well as many others on this site. I would strongly suggest that you make sure and have all of your ducks in a row and your research complete before diving in, as (again I speak from experience) it can get VERY expensive if you have to go back and change something mid stride. Best of luck to you, and for the love of all things right take some pictures of your rig!!
  5. After 72 hours of work, I finally got a moment to touch my pathfinder... Started trying to mount the new front bumper, but ran out of steam. Maybe next week.
  6. Just filled up... 18 gallons, got 249 miles out of it. 13.8 mpg. Not what I wanted to see. This sucks.
  7. Only place I have seen factory style replacement gears is 4x4parts and Steevo. Just get ready to pull a loan... Considerably cheaper to just replace the axles with 44's or toy's.
  8. Okay, makes sense. I was not second guessing you bra, I know you do top notch work and all, just was curious why you were going one way over the other. Kinda makes me want to sell the heims I bought for the rear and go with the XJ bushings... (much cheaper to replace when they wear!) On another note, what is your opinion on going with a triangulated 4 link rather than one with a panhard? I realize the former would wear quicker due to the angle of the control arms, but the articulation gained would be significant...correct?
  9. Mine weighed in at 4773 if I remember correctly... I have a picture of it on the local CAT scales...
  10. This has been covered several times in the how to section of the garage...here are the links: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5599 http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5325 I did sort of a writeup myself, but it is not as good as 88's. http://www.torymoore.com/pathfinder/bodylift.html As for the UCA's, there is a thread somewhere for that as well... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=30104 Good luck bro!
  11. Sweet, so no major mod's to the shaft then. Any particular reason why you used a bushing on either end instead of a heim or similar adjustable joint on one end?
  12. Man... Nice write up.... good info here!
  13. So what are you going to do about the drive shaft? Will the factory one work...?
  14. Dude, that craigs list thing is WICKED!!!! Awesome link, THANKS!
  15. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out...
  16. Heim joints arrived... I am itching to get this done....

  17. Just be sure to photograph what you do! It will be awesome to follow!!
  18. Anytime!! I have a picture somewhere of my buddy's samurai with two cases and 8 drive shafts... its a cluster but that baby will CRAAAWLLL.... will see if I can find it....
  19. Oh yeah, and my links are finally in... and I think I may have changed plans up a bit... Yea yea, I know... Its for the better....
  20. 5.95 a gallon here in the armpit of the south... But it CERTAINLY increases power band... Once I do the oil catch can mod I will probably run a mixture of that ratio for some time... to help clean out the junky junk... Yes... it has been 80+ degree's here... and we finally changed our uni's for short sleeves... woo hoo. Cool. There was a very cool (aftermarket?) grille available that housed 6 inch driving lights... thought I saw a picture some time back... Found it... our very own ahardbody....
