i didnt think it would make the steering lighter but i guess that makes sense since theres less parts moving in a way. And backing up to disengage them is probably not that big of a deal depending on what the area is like
-
i had a feeling they were always engaged but never really minded to looking them up or plaything around with them. and by the sounds of what you said theyre only really needed when i get a lift kit going and bigger wheels so the trade of for mpg is the same
-
alright good to know. but the only issue with buying them on advance is that im in canada so we dont have that store here lol. id probably have to look at napa or lordco but non the less great argument for getting them i guess
-
In my 97 i still have mostly stock everything but am building a build list on my computer for what parts i want when i gradually get into real off roading scene. With that said i still have the stock auto locking hubs. Right now its a pavement princess that isnt too sure on if its a 4x4 or a grocery getter just yet. I am interested in the Warn hubs but i got to thinking and not to sure what the big points of switching them are. Im still learning about most mechanical parts and what not so excuse me for the dumb question. Right now i am running through deep snow and mud here and there but no reall off roading yet since no lift and no where to go yet. What are the benefits of manual locking vs auto locking, and is it worth it to buy them now even though i wont use them much until maybe next year when i actually start thinking of a lift.

Those are really nice. I am too curious about the light output on those cant wait to see what those look like once you get it moving

Alright good to know. Again mounting is what ever i can jsut figure it out and make my own system if needed, but ill see where i can get with my current setup for now and hope i dont need to upgrade
-
modifying mounting is no biggy if i need to ill just make some. And if i could get away with all of the above with 0 issues with the stock 90 amp then that would be amazing. As for the battery i cant remember what ive got for specs of it but i know its not a cheapo one. It is the canadian tire brand or what ever but it was their "middle tier" is what the rep at the desk told me so thats what i got. I am planning on installing a deep cycle though for the inverter but how would you suggest i install the charging for itif you could guess? Just run a cable from my battery and hook it up to a relay so it wont drain my starter?
-
I have a few things i am wanting to install into my 97 such as a 300 watt (RMS NOT MAX) sub and amp, led lights, 500watt or so AC inverter and maybe more but i have the stock 90 amp alternator. If i were to install all of these would that alternator be able to handle it and if not can i upgrade it? is there anything preventing me from upgrading it to a 130 amp or something bigger then stock? Im not going to go out of my way to spend money on an alternator if i dont need one but in the scenario mine goes out can i swap in something bigger instead?
-
My 97 did the same thing. The light was on for not even kidding you 11 years (since it at the time it was my moms car and shes first owner) and then one day i fired it up and it went off and hasnt turned on since. Still have no clue what it was and why it went away but multiple shops tried and couldnt figure it out. If there truly is 0 things wrong with it then i wouldnt mind it but i would still try and get it fixed or just ask the dealer
-
yeah but my buddy has had multiple pairs of LED lights in his IS350 and every time he says theyre good but theyre just not as good as he would hoped even after aiming them. He got the ultras and was impress by them. Granted his stock bulbs were like somehow worse then stock but thats that. And I dont have any in my car since its not road worthy yet so no point now but in my Armada they are pretty nice. But I guess this is just proof that different people have different experiences with products lol
-
sont get LED youll have a better time with sylvania ultras
-
if i had to guess anywhere between 700 - 1200
-
i dont think thats a factory harness for the trailer plug. i would take a test light to it and test it incase im wrong
-
I havent found good front led bulbs but the tail light leds from sylvania are nice
-
oh im not saying its not cool this is one of the sweetest things ive seen in a while. i wonder how it drives
-
i thought they were just different struts all together huh. alright well the more ya know. and yeah youre right that would screw up something either way.
-
what was the motivation behind this idea ive seen it around and am quite curious lmao
-
I said bigger I meant like longer just something other then spacers lol
-
i would stay away from spacer if your going to go with land rover springs just buy bigger struts and do the whole thing
-
I believe bilstien makes good shocks that fit on the pathfinder

there is no open connector thats only on the pickups of that year. Youre going to have to run the wires another way. I didnt have the piggy back plug and play but running the wires is easy. if you run the wires under the trunk lining near the lock there are 2 decent sized holes for it to go through. i ran my 7pin wiring cable through that hole and to my plug which is on my bumper. If you are able to get an actual signal from that "open connector" make sure with a test light its what you actually think it is because from what ive seen the tail lights only run inside of the cab. EDIT: youre going to need something like this and if you want the 7pin plug you just cut off the 4 pin plug and wire it to a 7 pin plug instead. then all you have to do is run your brake wire and your 12 volt wire to the dash and then after that its up to you how that works. you dont need the 12v wire or a brake wire but if you want the 7 pin thats the best way i found plus its cleaner
-
omg wow thats a lot more then i thought jeez. now i know who to message when i need switches
-
alright cool. If i were to just run wires right from the battery i wouldnt have asked but since i want everything off when the ignition is off then asking about those tiny wires is a good thing to know in my books
-
actually this is something i forgot to ask and might as well here. If i had lets say 5 switches in my dash and i wire them up the ignition wire that turns on the radio and it powers all 5 switches, but they all go to a relay is all that small wire good enough to just turn on a relay or does it need more then that? and same with the illumination wire that dims the radio. is that enough to power an LED backlight on a switch and only that?

Im getting a light bar to replace the 4 pod lights on my bumper becasue one doesnt work and theyre not very bright and the bar comes with a wiring kit and comes with a switch like that just different writing. Im just hoping i dont have to make my own switch panel somewhere since i have no room for it if i did
