fair enough but right now its a matter of more money out then in as our 6 leaker blew a head gasket and took out the HPOP and other stuff along with it, armada needs a slough of parts and the pathfinder is kinda the least amount of priority. But then a again with it being 90k km it hasnt met the full service schedule and its been sitting for the most part for the past 8 years or so maybe 7 and like driven from the garage to the drive way every 4 months until i took it over. so it would make sense to change all this stuff while im here since its been sitting neglected. i will do thermostat since rock auto is cheap as dirt it seems as for hoses i might take my chance on that one since they are still in good condition as it doesnt see ANY road use as i still have to get it inspected. it should be on the road properly around august maybe july. i do understand the job but just dont know the exacts of this motor, and basically im replacing everything that i remove to get to the belt. this week ill probably order everything such as thermostat, cam and crank seals, belt, tensioner, water pump, keys and i think thats all that i can think of. i have to replace the rad here soon so ill probably do the hoses when i do that job
-
I was looking at this listing here but it doesn't appear to come with the seals or the keys. if its a super strong reccomendation that i get the seals front main, cam shaft and what not then ill do that since it looks like rock auto is cheap as dirt compared to my local lordco. what would be a full list of things to change in here? So far ive got the following in my head, add or remove what ever from here: Cam seals Crank seal water pump tensioner belt obv. all the keys what ever those look like
-
Ok woah woah woah hold up. Are the seals a km thing or like the older the are the more brittle they get. I was just planning on doing belt only since it’s only got 90,700 km on the motor. I guess seals makes sense. But what key are you talking about? EDIT: never mind i know what key had a slow moment there. but rest of my question still stands is it a must or not really? if i can get away with just belt hey right on but if its a yeah i slightly encourage the full kit then ill just do that. and i have to go to nissan again at some point this week for a washer fluid pump for our armada
-
so basically what ever i can get my hands on. gotcha
-
truth be told i have not yet changed the belt but it has been going strong. took it out for a cruise the other day to get the fluids moving and accidentally over revved it passed 4k on the up shift but none the less belt has held on. BUT i still plan on changing it. The question came into my head of when i do change my belt should i go aftermarket belt such as Gates or should i go OEM nissan belt. what is over all a better made belt, does anyone have a preference or does it just not matter along as its not a no name from amazon
-
its only drivers side which makes it even more annoying but if i can justify cutting it and then painting the open spots then might as well
-
thats not bad since mine is rusted out in that corner anyways.
-
what do you normally have to trim, just bumper plastic?
-
not too bad for a roll over and especially for what you paid. looks like the whole thing is straight interms of structure as for body panels obviously. good find
-
yes i know what it looks like. yes im 16 no its not plasti dip its bed liner and hey at least i welded on some recovery point when i redid my front bumper. only thing i can say about it is everything is not bought form someone i built the rear bumper my self and my dad built the front but i redid it a little over a month ago. BUT at least i built it so that makes my style alright. right? Light bar because middle on no where and amazon boxing day sale. anyways this is my most current picture and thought i would show my little bit of progress over the past 6 or maybe more of working on it on my free time. Rear bumper i designed and as for the front its the same except when my dad built it years ago he put the cross bar over the coolant plug and it was kind of hidden. cut it apart moved the hitch hole forward and added more points to the left and right and added a light bar because people dont like to wear reflective clothing while walking along a main road in the mountains. Lift kit coming at some point when i decide i want to actually save money. https://imgur.com/a/bxxy2Bt

well, for the r52 there is not a whole lot that ive seen out there let alone for the r50 platform. if you can find something thats along the lines of arb old man emu, then thats your best bet. what ever brands you see listed here on the forum are probably a viable option granted you can find one that will work for your model.

any difference from stock 235 and 265?
Strato_54 replied to Strato_54's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I’ve learned to not full turn with over sized tires since my dads F-250 has over sized tires and if you go full turn in that it rips out his abs sensor and other stuff with it. So the rubbing is not a problem since I don’t lock it unless I have to even if they don’t rub. And this is all very nice info. And right budget as if tires and wheels would hit hard but not hard enough to where I lose a few limbs but it would definitely be nice to run what I got until I can go all out. But I might just end up getting some 16x8. What are some better known brands to look out for and places that ship to or from Canada. Us shipping is not preferred but possible -

alright very good to know. and from what it looks like the gearing is based the same from transmissions. thats what ive been reading at least. and the 99 le probably isnt much different from my now what appears XE. honestly theyres nothing labeling the truck xe only thing i can find is se so next time i go to the dealer ill see what they say because i need a new rad and timing belt (still) so ill get them to look at my vin and if it comes back xe then dealer mistake filling paper but if it comes back se then i do indeed have a unicorn -

UPDATE: Door sticker says 235s the placard says HG43 so it literally leads to an XE but it still was labeled as an SE from factory. and not hand written like full on computer print sheet. so i guess its an xe wanna be se who woulda thought -

that is kind of odd. and makes sense that they would do the same out here since its western canada and the nissan we always went to and where this came from had weird options like our armada from the same dealer is a very weird mix of stuff but either way its what ever. but yeah as for looking like an xe but labeled se its beyond me and all i care about are getting 265/75 with 0 issue on what i have. it is possible that my dad when he put these tires on got these put on for what ever reason as he thought wranglers were a good choice but he ate through 3 pairs like nothing so. out of my control but none the less if i can keep using these wheels that saves me money right there for a while until i can comfortably buy other stuff with out also buying a new wallet. -

going up to my shop later tonight so ill check that placard and and see what it says. the lift gates doesnt have the SE or XE badge anywhere theres no telling what it is on the outside and the slip is printed like from a computer SE and the vin and all which is the original paper work. so if i have a unicorn then thats pretty cool to know lol edit: and if i can just swap rubber and keep these for a while then that is sick and ill probably just do that for a bit and then go all out when i get the kit just go for wheels and all -

it does indeed have the 6 spoke with 235s unless theyre different wheels these are the stock. i have the nissan pink slip and all the real paper work since my mom was the OG 1st owner. i do not have the car here at home but the paper work says SE EDIT: heres a really bad side angle view from last april when we got it out of storage and to my shop showing what its riding on now. very old picture compared to what ive done to it as of lately with my hitch and bumper install on the rear because #weldingskills https://imgur.com/a/pHGvTx9 EDIT EDIT: i just found the picture of my side wall so i wouldnt forget and theyre actualy 235/75 not 70 my bad. -

oh i completely forgot this video. thanks a lot man -
I have a 97 SE with the stock chrome 235s and 235/70/15 BFG KO but i want to go bigger at some point. Still new to the car and mechanic scene as i grew up a welder not a mechanic. but either way are there any differences between a stock pathfinder that came with 265 and one that came with 235 other then the over all wheel width. and if anyone would like to help and teach me on what im looking at when buying wheels. i already know tires and how to read those but the wheel aspect part is a little fuzzy. My current goal is to put some 265s on with my stock ride height which i believe should yield a 29" max size but i do have plans to lift it in the future.

good to see that you resolved the no start. as for it reading half the sending unit could be bad or the gauge is just stuck. and yes they take 20.1 gallons or something along those lines edit: again back to my armada it had the read at quarter tank issue and was really empty. once filled full it started working again no problem. all it is is a little bobber and is possible it could've gotten stuck and once refilled it fixed it. but keep an eye on it
-
i would do what is said above. had a similar experience with the armada and it was just a corroded battery terminal got also was a bit loose. if not try and take the battery to a store and get it load tested. here load tests are free so i would imagine they would be for you too.

this right here is computer background worthy

the 07 r51 is definitely a fantastic vehicle but i agree, the r50 is a much better feeling. 32K original miles is not bad and the body definitely holds to what it says. amazing find man and welcome to the forum! you will almost definitely get some fantastic ideas just scrolling through this forum for a half hour or so. As for lifts, if you did decide to get it off spacers there are some choices out there but not a lot sadly. but it all depends on what you want it to do and what works best for your needs. again welcome!

here in BC we have inspection but ots only once when you get it insured and never again unless you need to get it reinsured

Added some rubber. Lift coming soon.
