  1. changed out all the locks on the 88, now the key doesnt fall out of the ign. on wasboard trails, replaced the rear hatch rods on the 94 now I dont have to prop it up when its cold
  2. I replaced the bushings and pins on my 88 about 3 months ago cost about $40.00, no more rattling when I hit bumps I thought it was well worth the cost
  3. yeah I just changed the 1 on the 88 a couple of weeks ago, got itfrom the local pap
  4. I did my 87 but it's been 15 or 16 years since I did it, I remember there were dimples in the sheet metal for the latch and the other bracket and the nuts were installed already just be careful drilling the holes, the hinge plates I think I was able to get 1 from the donor pathy and the other was mounted solid
  5. sounds like your ready for another cable assembly
  6. LOL been there done that. Our crappy bite is wide open right now I'm really waiting for the carp to come in I enjoy going after them with the bow
  7. one thing about purging the system you can see what kind of vacuum you can pull down to and hold, 28 29 inches and you have a pretty tight system
  8. Ca has tightened the specs, 2010 the 88 passed with flying colors last Sept. it just squeeked by
  9. Check 5 posts above I reset mine earlier this week when I changed out clusters
  10. The new KC 1789 57 series lites came in yesterday, what a difference over the Bosch. They're both 100 watters but the KC are more of a spot or pencil beam and about half the size of the Bosch. So instead of a brick wall on the Targa bar I now have a picket fence
  11. Picked up a later model inst.cluster white looks so much nicer, the tac didn't work so I had to do some swapping using my old one with the white face and pointer, speedo was missing the pointer, and the odometer had 12.000 miles more the mine wound it back and had to use the orange pointer all in all it looks good. Also picked up another front tow hook
  12. The 1 closst to the batt looks like the interlock relay if it is there should be 2 10 gauge wires and 2 14 or 16 gauge wires. also the neg batt cable looks like it's been very hot and a fuse link looks like its been micky moused, there should be a couple of brackets on the fender well for them to mount to
  13. LOL just make sure the trannys in neutral darn u beat me to it
  14. also anyone thinking of doing this to a 2 door, the 2 door headliner is a bit wider then the 4 door, so save the 4 door liner and you can trim the 2 out for a decent match. I did it on my 88, and yes you want to get that front brace
  15. Make sure you get the right one, count the pins on the back of the switch, most are 4 pin but some are 3 pin. I've found both, in fact I installed a 3 pin in my 88 when I fried the stock switch
  16. there's a thread in here about the stock tweeters and it was reccomrnded to change the the diode? on the tweeter, I installed the stock ones in my 88 and did the mod. edit to add I also removed the rear side speakers and installed the rear overhead ones
  17. before you tighten the nut on the alt shaft make sure the pulley lines up with the belt, I had to space mine out. When I did the QX4 console in my 88 I pulled the front seats, made it easier to reposition the p brake, and to notch the console for the seatbelts. depending on how many switches you have in your console you might have to move 1 or 2 of them.
  18. there's still Riverside, San Bernadino, and Hesperia to check. I might do them next week
  19. Drove 173 miles hit 3 pickaparts looking for a inst cluster for the 88, the only thing I came up with was a fuel gauge out of a hard body the tach was broken and so was the speedo and the cluster didn't look that good.. Sure wish I could have used the whole thing I like the 1/4 fuel gauge but it would have been too much in mods to fit in my cluster, so I modded the fuel gauge, didn;t see 1 2door every pathy I spotted had the round dash. Guess it's time to start thinking about going with the later dash
  20. Damm the local picka part hit me $30.00 each for 4 but at least I got the center caps with them, plus they charged me $2.00 a wheel to dismount the tires. Oh I pulled the cat on the 88 and it looks like it has some blockage, I just might leave it off as it doesnt haved to be smogged til 2014 edit to add picked up a pair of Hankooks, so now the 88 has great tread on all 4 corners
  21. with 2 pathys I hit the pickaparts a couple times a month, I know as they get older, parts are going to be harder to find, so I'm slowly stockpiling parts for them.
  22. with my 94 SE 3.0 5 spd I'm averaging 17 1/2 to 18 freeway driving between 70 and 75 mph. If I'm out of ca for a couple of tanks of fuel the milage will go up by about a mile and a half. I hate Ca. gas
