rering it you might have lost the temper in the rings if it got hot enough -
Back in the 80s they were having failure problems with the interlock relay, sometimes you could tap on it with a screwdriver or something and it would work, other times we made a temp jumper wire with 10 gauge and 2 male spade connectors I have 1 in the wife's 94 pathy. It seemed like we were having more problems with the Sentras then any other model

1988 Pathy manual to power windows
vagabond replied to Path88finder's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
What a few of us have done is install the 4 door front panels, it gives you a slight arm rest, the drivers power window will power from the left rear door switch on the master control. Also it looks better then the switches in the door panel, passengers window switch and the 2 others all work like they should -
on most of the pos sony's you can go to menu scroll down to to beep or something like that to turn it off some can be down with the remote, also you can get rid of it showing you what all it can do

if it's a 5spd make a jumper with about 4 inches 12 gauge wire and 2 male spade connectors if the relay dies you can use the jumper wire. Sometime it helps to smack the heck out of it

the clutch kit I bought from Rock Auto was about $250.00 if I remember, A friend of mine used to be a used car dealer and the shop he used charged me $250.00, this was 3 years ago and it cost me an additional $50.00 to have the flywheel resurfaced. If you look around I think you can find a better deal.

Up to 95 the factory air was dealer installed it was made by Calsonic, the Zs and Maximas were the only factory installed A/Cs. I used to install 3 or 4 a day at the dealership. It was awesome money got paid 8hrs and at the most it would take about 2 1/2 hrs. Oh my 88 pathy A/C still will freeze you out, the main thing is to keep the seals lubricated, run the A/C about 20 mins every week -
As a retired Nissan Mech/tech I don;t remember ever seeing the worm screw clamps on any factory hoses, it was always the type of clamp that was on the upper hose. On the larger hoses it was the wire type with the screw and the tab that was tapped to the screw threads

If it's completely empty it should have a vacuum drawn on the system, a good tight system will draw about 29 inches of vacuum, but you'll need a vacuum pump and a set of gauges. If it's just low you can follow the above answers, also you can look at the reciever/dryer it should have a sight glass on it if the system is low you'll see bubbles or a soapy look. While watching the sight glass you'll notice it clears up as the system is fully charged
