  1. That's not my setup it's James'. Wait so you don't want to have a carburetor then? So you just want to upgrade your coil pack right? from what i've heard there isn't much point in upgrading your coil pack as the factory one is plenty strong but if you are still set on doing so this should help. If you are keeping the tbi and nissan distributor why would you want to remove the nissan wiring and how would you run the tbi?
  2. 1.Carburetor on a VG30 I'm assuming you are going to use the experimental engineering intake manifold? They also have the six bolt crank pulley adapter so you can use your vg30 accessories on the vg33. The cheapest option of cams would be to use the vg30e cams.
  3. I hate most non standard drl but option 3 is probably the best place to put it and it doesn't look too bad there.
  4. When you need to Macgyver your way to cylinder number 6.
  5. Tbh I think that the strap type filter wrench is the best tool/method to remove a oil filter. If you have a really stuck filter sometimes stabbing a screw driver in it and turning it is a bad idea because you run the risk of destroying the whole filter and making it even more of a nightmare, whereas with the strap wrench it grips around the whole filter and it works much better than the standard type of filter wrench as you can easily use it for tight spaces. You can use socket extensions and swivel joints and what not on them. The 3 jaw filter tool doesn't really work great for filters that are really stuck on either. All this is based on my first filter change on my 89 terrano which had a nissan filter which I can only assume that its last filter change was in japan, I have tried all the filter tools mention in my post and found the strap type to be the most helpful of them all. If you are on the market for a filter tool I would recommend a strap type filter wrench as they are generally cheap and have the most surface are contact on the filter hence an easier removal. I have included some pictures for those that do not know what type of wrenches I am talking about and the second picture shows where the screw driver method can go wrong.
  6. You're in luck if you pm Alkorahil (Our nissan parts guy) he can hook you up with exactly what you need. He is in the states but prices nissan charges there compared to here is much better and on top of that he can get you a better price than most dealerships over there can. I have found that even with posting items to Australia I have still saved heaps from him.
  7. Make sure you have no vacuum leaks otherwise your snorkel is pointless.
  8. I am and I can pm the admin for you just pm me your email address you want to sign up with.
  9. The patrol has a much better aftermarket support than the pathfinder, but getting a diff from overseas would far surpass the price in just buying something local.
  10. IIRC they had fitment issues even with the hardbody but that was because they were fiber glass. Are you getting them new or secondhand?
  11. A whole youtube channel dedicated to just this.
  12. Wouldn't have a clue but depending on your mods such as lift, tires etc. you can get 20mpg+ on a vg30. IIRC my1path had about 18mpg pulling a trailer with his vg33 truck (It's lifted and I think it has bigger tires). VG30e blocks are easy to come by for cheap but a vg33e is usually about $1200 from the wreckers (in qld anyways) but you might have better luck getting one from a private seller. Then there's the VG30DE/VG30DETT but that's allot more work which includes rebuilding the trans with a combination of pathy and 300zx parts. The diesel engines are pretty common so you might be able to get a diesel motor for dirt cheap from either a terrano/pathfinder, navara or a patrol.
  13. With a VG30/33 swap you most likely won't need to get it engineered well in qld anyways but i'm pretty sure it's the same in nsw.
  14. What about rebuilding an engine from the wreckers or doing an engine conversion?
  15. Is this option 3? You could always try and lowball them, then there's doing a compression test and asking for recipts. Do you know if it was rebuilt from a shop.
  16. Finding a RHD dashmat isn't that much of a problem for me it's finding one that can cater for the inclinometer, I mean I could just put the inclinometer ontop and cut out a piece of carpet to go ontop but I would prefer a product that is one piece and not modified to retain the warranty. But thanks anyways .
  17. Now if they had one for the rhd WITH a incline/altimeter that would be great.

    6 wheeler d21

That sounds pretty silly and extensive, A better option would be to use hydraulics like a tow truck.

  21. It would help if people update their forum topics when the issue is resolved and also request that a mod/admin mark the title as "resolved" or "fixed".
