There's much more to aftermarket support than lifting such as: bar work, engine mods and body mods like flares to name a few. If you have the money and/or you aren't good with fabricating parts your better off getting something else rather than an r50 depending on how much you plan on modifying it. There are however a few vendors on this site that make some aftermarket components for the r50. How much money are you planning on spending in total for this offroad truck, I'm guessing you're not interested in the wd21? If you get something with better aftermarket support you can save heaps on second hand aftermarket parts also e.g If you got a truck with a dana 44, there would be heaps of ratio choices as well as locker choices that you could get for cheap. -

Engine Pictures for Information and Comparison
Leo94 replied to bulletsforringo's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Is this thread for the VG30E only or other variants also. I like the idea, it keeps people from having to make a new post requesting photos or diagrams. Maybe there could be a forum topic for each engine? -
I actually have that bookmarked, pretty useful stuff. Here it is

Maybe the vq has the same problem .

Any updates?

I have a td27 service manual, it doesn't have the vacuum diagrams but it does have egr diagrams if that helps? If you want a copy of the service manual let me know.
-
You mean this right? That would explain why my brake light is always on too when the switch is connected, I was thinking my pedal height was out of adjustment or something.
-
Why don't you base your design off the vg30i plenum rather than the vg30e lower plenum like mr.510s one for sale? You will get much better flow that way and it will be much less work/more practical.

Is that made out of duct tape?

Towing Questions or maybe Replace the Pathy?
Leo94 replied to TahoeRunner's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
You can gain more than that for free by putting stock vg30e cams in your vg33e, not too sure how much the gain is but free power is free power. -
8.5 Only minor surface rust but the diff cross member is flaking a little.
-
That fender looked pretty salvageable .
-
Why not just install a kill switch?
-
If you could post a photo of your rig that would help allot as you are new here.

1994 Pathfinder VG33E engine swap project with a twist
Leo94 replied to Thisoneguyinaz's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
That's not my setup it's James'. Wait so you don't want to have a carburetor then? So you just want to upgrade your coil pack right? from what i've heard there isn't much point in upgrading your coil pack as the factory one is plenty strong but if you are still set on doing so this should help. If you are keeping the tbi and nissan distributor why would you want to remove the nissan wiring and how would you run the tbi? -

1.Carburetor on a VG30 I'm assuming you are going to use the experimental engineering intake manifold? They also have the six bolt crank pulley adapter so you can use your vg30 accessories on the vg33. The cheapest option of cams would be to use the vg30e cams. -
I hate most non standard drl but option 3 is probably the best place to put it and it doesn't look too bad there.

Tbh I think that the strap type filter wrench is the best tool/method to remove a oil filter. If you have a really stuck filter sometimes stabbing a screw driver in it and turning it is a bad idea because you run the risk of destroying the whole filter and making it even more of a nightmare, whereas with the strap wrench it grips around the whole filter and it works much better than the standard type of filter wrench as you can easily use it for tight spaces. You can use socket extensions and swivel joints and what not on them. The 3 jaw filter tool doesn't really work great for filters that are really stuck on either. All this is based on my first filter change on my 89 terrano which had a nissan filter which I can only assume that its last filter change was in japan, I have tried all the filter tools mention in my post and found the strap type to be the most helpful of them all. If you are on the market for a filter tool I would recommend a strap type filter wrench as they are generally cheap and have the most surface are contact on the filter hence an easier removal. I have included some pictures for those that do not know what type of wrenches I am talking about and the second picture shows where the screw driver method can go wrong.

Make sure you have no vacuum leaks otherwise your snorkel is pointless.

The patrol has a much better aftermarket support than the pathfinder, but getting a diff from overseas would far surpass the price in just buying something local.
