  1. IIRC they had fitment issues even with the hardbody but that was because they were fiber glass. Are you getting them new or secondhand?
  2. Wouldn't have a clue but depending on your mods such as lift, tires etc. you can get 20mpg+ on a vg30. IIRC my1path had about 18mpg pulling a trailer with his vg33 truck (It's lifted and I think it has bigger tires). VG30e blocks are easy to come by for cheap but a vg33e is usually about $1200 from the wreckers (in qld anyways) but you might have better luck getting one from a private seller. Then there's the VG30DE/VG30DETT but that's allot more work which includes rebuilding the trans with a combination of pathy and 300zx parts. The diesel engines are pretty common so you might be able to get a diesel motor for dirt cheap from either a terrano/pathfinder, navara or a patrol.
  3. With a VG30/33 swap you most likely won't need to get it engineered well in qld anyways but i'm pretty sure it's the same in nsw.
  4. What about rebuilding an engine from the wreckers or doing an engine conversion?
  5. Is this option 3? You could always try and lowball them, then there's doing a compression test and asking for recipts. Do you know if it was rebuilt from a shop.
  6. Finding a RHD dashmat isn't that much of a problem for me it's finding one that can cater for the inclinometer, I mean I could just put the inclinometer ontop and cut out a piece of carpet to go ontop but I would prefer a product that is one piece and not modified to retain the warranty. But thanks anyways .
  7. Now if they had one for the rhd WITH a incline/altimeter that would be great.
  8. It would help if people update their forum topics when the issue is resolved and also request that a mod/admin mark the title as "resolved" or "fixed".
  9. Ah okay, it's just because you both have an 88 pathy with and z24i and you both want to swap engines to something else. Yeh I've got the vg30i tbi (throttle body intake 2 injectors) engine but if you do an engine swap I recommend going to the vg30e mpfi (multiport fuel injection six injectors). There is also the diesel engine which is much more common in australia and you would get better fuel economy but that's allot more work converting petrol to diesel. I'm not too sure which engine will bolt up to yours without changing the transmission though I think the diesel and z24 petrol share the same transmission.
  10. What price? Put some pics up, it saves people the time of searching around for them.
  11. In the reply box click the third button from the left, select "youtube" and paste your link in the box below.
  12. According to the fsm I have which covers the vg30i engine, there is no code 42, code 43 is the tps and the same is said on 88pathoffroad's post
  13. Get a gps tracker from ebay, you can get one for like less than $100 iirc and it's definatley worth it, especially after knowing that there are some thieving bastards after your rig.
  14. What if you removed the diff and left the engine in and changed the gasket from under?
  15. A little compressed air can help too.
  16. Mr.510 makes a crank pulley so you can keep your stock accessories, it's pretty cheap for what it is and I plan on using it when I do my vg34 build.
