  1. I hope it's nothing major. I'm going to do mine soon. Where did you get your parts? I was looking at the Rock Auto kit...$95 Can. with water pump.
  2. When I first read your title I though maybe you were a vampire. I think yours should have 9 wires on the plug for the control. Five on one side and four on the other. I believe you should have power at wire 8 or 9 when the key is on. Leave the plug connected and just slip the tip of your test light in to touch the terminal. 2 3 1 9 5 7 4 6 8 That's how they are numbered in my wiring diagram.
  3. I'm not sure yet if my sisters is an early or late '99 but it is on foreign (Canadian) soil. I just got a quick look at it at Christmas but it even had a rear cargo cover in it. 1st time I've seen one. I've always wondered what one looked like.
  4. Again sorry but you did make me blow half a beer out my nose.
  5. Good write up. Jeez I hope you have power mirrors! How big is your boat?
  6. Sorry for correcting you but I just can't help it. You shouldn't have put an apostrophe in " wife's". That mean your wife sound like "she is 94". I hope she didn't read that!
  7. My sister has a 1999 Pathfinder LE with a tire carrier on it.
  8. A guitar string will work. Last time I got one at the junkyard they made us pay first.
  9. My "bible" says LSV first then LR, RR, LF then RF.
  10. My father wouldn't refill a lawn mower or chainsaw without a smoke in his mouth. "Just to check for fumes".
  11. As I had a post a while ago about fuel pumps and so have others, I'm glad everyone has a fire extinguisher ready. Justin Case.
  12. Welcome, very nice looking truck! There are alway thing to do to make it "your own". All your future plans sound good.
  13. Nice looking dog you have there!
  14. There are some Nissan sites on the web devoted to lowering trucks, everyone here tends to raise them. All are wecome but you'd probably find better info elsewhere on that one subject.
  15. Is the seal going in your truck or your brothers? O.K. I got the wrong truck. I was thinking the'97 not the '89. You two are getting me confused.
  16. Once the tranny's out you just carefully pry out the old seal. Multi-purpose grease on crank and new seal Then drive in the seal with a brass hammer or something like that. They make a tool just for the seals but who has one of those. Maker sure it goes in square and set it flush with the back of the seal plate. Then the fun part=put the tranny back in.
  17. The black wire is the ground wire. By the legnth of it you should be able to find where it was originally connected. I don't know which end came off but the connector has probably just rotted away. There should be some signs left of where it came from though.

    Fuel Pump

Thanks guys, I found a 6 gallon tank at Overton's that's 12" deep. If the stock pump set up isn't taller than that or if I could add a spacer to raise it a bit I might go that route. It's only $70 so that's not to bad and it would be an easy swap.
  19. I use to live near 100 Mile House and spent alot of time on the Island as well. Still miss it.
  20. I peeled off half a wiper blade this morning with the ice scraper. Maybe I sharpened it a bit too much.

    Fuel Pump

Mainly I just want the truck for wood cutting in the fall and winter on my farm and want to get rid of the 80 liter tank. Just want a small tank I can remove and empty when it's parked for a long time. I have to replace the whole rear frame and crossmembers and I don't want to have to remount a tank that's ten times the size I need and I want the extra clearance. Plus I don't know how to leave well enough alone.

    Fuel Pump

That's what I needed to know. Would you know how much room I'd need to fit the stock pump in? I just don't want to take apart the tank till I have to. Just hoping to either use a boat tank or regular gas can and keep with the stock pump.
