You still seem to be reving very high...what is your blood presure? Is your HB a 96? I still have a 96 in black,
-
Sorry about multi posts but my computor isn't running on 5w30 like it should be...
-
Hey buddy but did you just say that you have never gone 4-wheeling?
-
You're running at at 3000RPM's? Yes you have a problem.
-
I don't do any city driving. The other parts don't care about what the front axles, diff. etc are doing as far as wear. The hubs were about $200 and right now gas is going for about $1.28 per litre around here. I think that's about $5.88 Imp. gallon. Not sure off hand in U.S. gallons. Any way it's over $110 to fill my tank and I' sure I've saved at least a few tanks over the last 3 1/2 years.

If you don't carry people in the back seats, remove the seat bottoms and folt down the backs. It gives lots more room on the floor behind the front seats and lots more in the cargo area. I can get a big enough air matress that I'm not cramped when camping.

Would Theexbit and Precise1 agree with at least 10% better mileage with manual hubs? I put mine on 50,000kms ago. With my math that means 5,000kms free. Not to mention wear and tear on the front end, noise etc.

I just checked my thermometers memory and it hasn't gotten below -30.5 C since the New year when I reset it. But then there is the wind chill. I've never used my block heater and the truck still start fine every time. It takes about 4 or 5 miles before the tranny will shift to overdrive(AT). But it is blowing hot air after about 3 miles. I've never let it sit and warm up...start and GO! The dog and me go out every morn. for a 1/2 to an hour hike in the woods. After all we are Canadian so we just tuff it out 'till the 'skeeters get here.

Put on some Warn hubs first. That'll help you save some money to buy some of the fun stuff. It's probaly the only mod that you can do that will save you money.
-
I think that is 298,000 km since 1988!
-
I'm at around 318,000 kms. I just had the strut housings done under the recall so I'm hoping the rest might last a few more years.

I didn't read all 8 pages but I thought I'd tell about my Warns. They went on no problem. The originale studs worked fine. I had to double nut a few to get them...easy. I put them on about 50000 kms ago. People say 10% and up for mileage. I have never checked the numbers but at 10% after 50000kms that means 5000 kms of driving for free. Best $200 I ever spent. My opinion is anyone would be crazy not to put a set of Warns on as soon as possible. Plus all the wear and tear they save on the front drive, A few weeks ago after being in the woods and couldn't understand the noise from the front end once I hit the highway. I thought I had damaged something....no I'd just forgot to unlock the hubs. Sooo much quieter unlocked. They are the best money I've ever spent on the truck.

Thanks...it's hard sometimes to find good answers on the internet. I'm hoping to get them on tomorrow. I was going to take them to my local guy but CTC says they will do it free, just have to pay for balencing. Brockville didn't have the tires so I got them in Smithfalls yesterday. This is about the tenth time over the years I have tried to get tires at Canadian "TIRE" in Brockville and they have NEVER had what I want. Kitchenware yes but tires NO. How are they in Ottawa?
-
Do you know if the Territory is just a CTC brand?
-
Never mind, I bought them anyway. Stock is 265/70 x 15" and from what I understand is equil to 29.6"X10.4"X15" The 31"X10.5X15" Wrangler is 30.5"X10.4"X15" but they look about 2" taller before installing on the rims. The math sounds close but they seem huge. You have to love Canada...almost $100 in tax and $25 to dispose the my old tires that I'm keeping. Tires $710...Total $829 not installed.
-
I was just looking at some 31X10.5X15 Wrangler Territories for a 1998 Chillkoot. Any opinions? Four for the price of three Till the 16th.
-
'shrooms?
-
If I tried to run 25 LbS. I'd feel like I had four flats . Stock 265/70/15 BFG AT. I do most of my driving on dirt roads but highway at under 30 LBS?...no way. I don't have GPS but under 30 lbs...nope.
-
I just tried some Rust Check rust converter on my rims(changed from silver to black paint). I guess I'll know how it works after a summer of muddin'.
-
O.K thanks. I don't have a BigLots around but I keep an eye out for them elsewhere. Yes I have Rubbermaid totes and milk crates and other ugly stuff. Just like the black and the size. I do home renovations and interior painting and am constantly changing my cargo. If I could get 1/2 dozen of these they would morning load up a lot simpler.
-
Agree with 5523 Pathfinder. I keep mine at 30 lbs. even the door jamb tells me 26 lbs. I have even tire wear a good ride.
-
My sister has a 1996 Hardbody pick-up. 50% of them came in black, 25% in white and 25% in blue.
-
The place I checked wanted $84.00 each for the fronts and $82.00 each for rears. $332.00 without shipping or taxes? My rusted ones look better all the time.
