Another 1993 Pathfinder Emergency brake question (sorry)
kdj replied to MrEviLDeD's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
There should be a bolt right where your arrow is and another on the other side. Meaning cable in the middle with a bolt on the left and right. Have you looked on the inside to see if maybe someone has broken the bolts off before? Are there bolt ends to the nuts that are welded to the inside of the backing plates? And are both sides (drives and passengers) the same? It's looking pretty rusted in there (Canadian) I'm wondering if someone broke them off at sometime. The part at your arrow is part of the cable mount and shouldn't be part of the backing plate. The rubber plug should just be around the cable where the actually cable passes through the backing plate. -
The 40 came after their 39th formula. And yes a can makes a great flame thrower!

Mine's a 1998 so it's probably different from your '93. I am sure there's a least one! -

If I remember right there are 2 bolts through the rear of the backing plate that hold the cable to the plate. If that's what you mean. -
You always need correct fuel/air mixture, compression and a spark at the right time. If you are missing one or more it won't run. I always start by checking for (1) fuel at the plugs. If that seems good (2) check spark while the plug(s) are out and over course (3) check compression at the same time. After that go to step 4

I've said this before but people always ask about size. I have '98 it had 265/70/15 stock. Replaced with 31" X10.5"-15" that fit with lots more room. That's with a 2" backspace. I probably could have gone bigger but I may not be done yet!

For the two back cables, yes you have to remove the drums and shoes. -
Sometimes when the girlfriend drives I pee a little bit in my pants.

At -20F I scrape off the ice, hop in, start it and go. 320,000 kms so far. I've never used a block heater either. Different habits I guess, my father would have kicked my ass if saw me idleing in the driveway for no reason.

You warm up your truck in the morning? Don't you live in Florida.
-
The tire will fit in there no problem. My stock rims are 15x7(265x70R15) but 15x6(235x75R15) from a '96 won't fit over the rear drums. They'll go on there but they bind on the drum before they fit flush to the hub surface. Didn't try to see if they would fit over the discs(front). I have 31x10.5s on the stock 15x7 rims. I have no lift but lots of room. Hope that helps. You may want to try a search though, last post here was in 2006!

Personaly I think cats are worthless. Will they save the world? One burb from Mother nature and we are the way of the dino's. My comment was about the fact that if we don't pass e-test, we can't a get a new sticker for our plates. We don't even get new plates just a sticker. I keep mine in the glove box because I don't think it's enviromentaly friendly. I worry it may fall of a choke a Panda.

Hey thanks, for some reason I was thinking 88. I guess I'm not burning as much as I thought. I useally just put in $40 in when I'm going past the station then forget to set my trip meter.
-
Jeez I'm a idiot, I was just going to say your problem was that you have a lawn roller stuck under your tire.
-
How big is your tank? Mine is listed at 88 litres. I filled a 5 gallon gas can for the ATV today and it cost $38 88. The guy beside me at the gas station was laughing because his snowmoble only took $32.00.

Around here they would say "As far as I know you are walking untill you can pass an emission test"
-
I just check it out-at 50kms over the limit your car is impounded for 7 days. If it's you first conviction it's between $2000 to $10,000 fine, 6 demerit points on your license, up to 6 months in jail and you can lose your license up to 2 years. If you get a second conviction the suspention can be up to 10 years. Think how much gas you could save by walking for ten years. What would we do without our politicians.

Ha Ha. We do have the 401 Hyw. with a 100km/h speed limit and you'd get mowed down at that speed. You might get passed by a dump truck at 120. But I'm not on there often. They do post signs telling you your fine for different speeds.
-
I agree not a piston to the head but maybe valve into a piston.
-
We don't have big hyws. around here. The speed limit here is 80Km/h and at 90 you can get a ticket. I was driving 88 km/h @ 2000RPMs even. Since I put on the bigger tires I seem to be at maybe 1850 RPMS at 88km/h. New tires, I still to do some math.
-
Turn it over with the nut an the crank end (harmonic balencer) if something crunches than that will tell you rod/piston damage. If you get comprssion at plugs then your belt is still connected. If it crunches up top your belt my have skipped and a valve may be hitting a piston or two. Just my opinion but I'd check a few thing before pulling the motor.
-
Different animal? Differant country, if we get caught doing that speed it call road racing and you get impounded. Not sure my RPM's if I was 30 KMs over the speed limit here.
-
Warm? Only -9 here today...spring is almost here! Looking forward to the mud.
-
Washed? I've been chopping mine off with the snow shovel!

Thats funny, i'm always late and drive 80 to88 but in KMS! Canada miles.
