The 3rd and 4th gear ratios are the same. 1st and 2nd are different, however.

How far have you cranked the t-bars? If you have the 4x4parts control arms installed, and the bars are barely cranked above stock height, you will have this problem. To see what I mean, jack the front end up to let the suspension hang, and you will see the camber go way negative.

When I went from 31s to 33s (the same tires as nefarious), the main power loss I noticed was off the line and on the freeway, I can't tow my trailer that well anymore... I don't have that many hills here so my mileage is still around 18mpg if I drive decently. My plan is to only use the 33's for wheeling trips.

That's weird, rockauto lists them the same from 87-95. I had to replace the one in my old 95 and it looks exactly the same as the one I pulled from a JY truck for a spare recently. The one in my 94 I just cleaned it actually, and it looks the exact same.

And just for reference. It should be 40 teeth between the camshafts, and 43 teeth between the drivers side camshaft and the crankshaft marks.

You can drill the idler and tap it for a grease fitting. I would inspect the tie rod ends, ball joints, and tension rod bushings.

In the us ac work is fairly cheap. Up here in Canada you pretty much get raped by shops. So much so that I bought a set of gauges and a cheap vacuum pump from harbor freight. Nothing against you I just hate when people suggest being certified pr taking it somewhere on a forum designed to help the do it yourselfer.

If it is leaving stuff on the floor, then the leak should be big enough for you to spot by eye. Did you replace the o rings on the connections to the compressor when you had the lines off. You're not really supposed to re use them.

I used some house brand dex 3 as no one had maxlife in stock at the the time. But that is what I would use. Or castrol import multi vehicle.
-
If you take off the covers, they are just 5x7 oval speakers. The after-market speakers fit in there and the stock covers go back over. This is how it is in both of my pathfinders. I can take some pictures if you want.
-
Most speakers you put in the rear will still allow the stock covers to go on, if that's what you meant by looking stock. The size you need is 5x7 You can't tell what's in there with the covers on. Not sure on the tweeters.

The maxima with the VG30 (not VE30) is what you want. All you need to do is swap your pathy pulley over it and it installs like factory. I don't know much about the quest swap but it is more work and some grinding might be involved as well as a different belt size.

Does 4.0 make a whining noise from the engine? Heres why

I don't call the mechanics thieves, its the service writers or whatever. The place that did my mothers wanted to charge her 8 hours worth of labour just for the diagnostic...And in the end they told me they had to "call nissan canada" to find out what it was. I beat them down to eliminating that 8 hours and they only billed parts and actual labour time. This of course after we threatened to go to the BBB. fskcin' crooks. They knew damn well what was wrong and just tried to pull a fast one. -
Big difference, nexen is a walmart tire.

I'm pretty sure he has some form of Nokian m/t tire

Anything I've ever bought from beck/arnley has outlasted the vehicle I've installed it on. Recently I had a moog ball joint fail on my truck that was installed in the fall. I bought a mevotech tie rod for my old pathy and i remember it having a very short lifespan.
-
I probably wouldn't worry about it unless its making more lifter noise or something. I don't remember if it ever caused an issue with mine. But I just don't use those filters anymore.
-
You should be able to mate your old one to it no problem. I simply used the xterra case because it came with mine and I'm lazy. It's the same case though.
-
Napa filters makes mine do that too. Did the same on my old wd21. I always run 5w30.
-
Look here at page 348. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Xterra/2002_Xterra/at.pdf

If you remove the steering shaft it should give you a lot more room. It's only a few bolts.
-
The xterra trans and torque converter will bolt to the stock d21 flexplate. Unless it is from a supercharged xterra, then you need that flexplate. Also, you have the xterra torque converter right? The d21 one won't fit in the xterra trans.
-
I'm lazy so if it were me I would find a nice set of pathy seats to replace them with. But maybe some first gen xterra seats would fit easily.
