  1. I am not a fan of the extended OCI. A lot of us know the oil burning issues the 3.5 has, has to do with not changing the oil on time causing buildup. Anyways IMO, change the oil according to what the manual says regardless of oil type, and I think you will have no problems.
  2. Get your phonebook out, or go on yellowpages.com and start looking for welders in your area. Or call some friends that might know someone. Or you could get a used welder and learn. I found you have to call about 10 people till you find someone willing.
  3. could it be the infamous manifold tick. i know a lot of times people mistake that for a knock
  4. You could always just weld the shock back on. Free if you have a welder.
  5. ^ this happened to me with my old BFG AT's. I had 5 so I rode the spare for a bit then gave them away.
  6. LOL. That happened to me as well. Time for a new set of shocks.
  7. If you end up wanting to do stuff for the early models I am not too far away and you can use my truck for mock ups.
  8. This might help. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/pathfinder/
  9. So there is no play in the wheel when you have it in the air and grab the tire? I had loose wheel bearings that cause the front end to act funny. I know you said they are new but hey @!*% happens right.
  10. Yeah new factory clamps are like 10 dollars at the dealer. I remember helping a friend with this a couple years ago on his '98
  11. He may have cleared it accidentally when checking them. I did that the first time on mine too. You just gotta follow the instructions exactly.
  12. No I just drive it like an old man! Although in the winter I'm lucky if I get 18 at the best of times.
  13. I get 20-24 on the highway in the summer. 22 at the most if the ac is on. And I have stock exhaust intake and ignition. On my 15k road trip this summer, I averaged 23 mpg most of the way. Even in the mountains it was around 19-21. I kept every gas receipt and wrote down the mileage whenever I filled so this is not bull@!*%. I had the air on a lot and a roof basket on. Set the cruise at 65-80 mph depending on area and I was good.
  14. If it were me I would replace all of the hoses that would be otherwise hard to access while you are in there. Unless money is tight this is a good idea. It has saved me many headaches.
  15. Have you done the pressure test yet?
  16. What I meant was to get it tested first. Sorry if I was rude. I've never done the test myself but it only cost me 50 dollars to have a shop do it. And by "rust water" I meant rusty water. Spelling FAIL. If you see the stuff on the ground again smell it.
  17. I think he meant is it rust water just dripping out? Did you smell the substance? If it didn't smell sweet than it is not coolant. Mine drips water out of the muffler all the time.
  18. Before assuming the worst I would get it pressure tested.
  19. I get way better than that easily. I have 6" of lift and I can still get 20 mpg on the highway and 16 in the city it's all in how you drive it. And my exhaust is stock fyi.
  20. I just rolled over 350,000kms and it still doesn't use oil and the lifters are just starting to tap at start up sometimes.
