  1. Ive done em too. PITA. needed to heat the big nuts up alot to get them off. and you cant fit any type of ratchet/airtool on it. you have to get the nuts off vie a box end wrench. it takes a LOOOOOONG time. it would go much quicker if you drop the Tbars. but I didnt want to drop them again for the 8 million'th time. Once they were ready to go back on, I had to jack the LCA up(via balljoint) then I slid it in to the frame. lowered the LCA and put one bolt threw the LCA and rod. then had to jsut keep playing with LCA height till I was able to slid the other bolt threw. and then lastly I put the big nut on and tightned it all down.
  2. suprizingly no. I though for sure I bent a front crossmember, contorol arm or somthing. but nothing major happend(besides the stated).
  3. if you honestly want a sturdier front end, do your self a favor. buy some stock bumpstops and lower your front end down. you dont NEED that lift. hell, ive been driving around for the last 2 weeks with 33's(xterrians also) with only a 3" BL and had NO rubbing(untill my body shifted) granted my rims have alot to do with that.
  4. I ran my tbars cranked(UCA on frame(no bumpstops)). the amount your Tbars are cranked DOES effect the CV's and how fast you go threw them. think of if like this, you have your Tbars cranked all the way(when I say this, I mean untill your UCA are on the frame) your front end is at full droop. so your CV's are always at a bad angle. the clicking is a bad sound. get on some rocks and tell me how long your CV's last. even worse, get on some snow coverd rocks-where traction is soo unpredictable. one tire will spin, melt the thin layer of snow and hit rock. I promise you your CV's wont last long. Like I said, I wheel my truck almost every weekend. on sundays if im not fixing my truck(which may I add is almost alway my front end), its not unusual for me to be gone for 6-8 hours cause were hitting up trails. If I only wheeled once a month or less (like many member here do) my CV's would last a very long time(also like many other members) my 2 cents
  5. haha. I torqued em down good. well as good as my 1/2" impact could. I hate BL's. and if I could, Id take mine off. but it makes things SOOOOOOOOOO(x the O's my a million) much easier to work on. could do another trans swap way faster now.
  6. but why? just sas the damn thing. I couldnt amagin wheeling my truck with those CV angles. when I had my Tbars cranked alll the way up (stock UCA), I was going threw CV's about as fast as I was gas. it was stupid. I did/do wheel ever weekend(or just about) and im not sure how much you wheel. but after 2 months, my front end got lowerd. Spacers would be cool tho.
  7. do an Efan swap. looks sweet. Dont hit any ruts too hard. I nailed some last weekend and I knew that somthing was out of wack. but upon closer inspection, my body shifted 1-1.25" FORWARD. all my mounts were bent to fawk. front tires rub like mad. ended up hooking a strap to my spare tire carrier latching part on the body. and then used my winch and two trees to pull my body backwards. got it back most of the way, but still had to trim my fenders. and crank my tbars
  8. apparently there not that bad. but its a huge PITA to get the spindle out of the stock ones.
  9. any one having problems uploading pics to photobucket? just noticed it today. I cant upload anypic. just brings be to the server can not be found page. but I dont have any problem doing anything else on the web.
  10. sweet!!! Rims are alway a cool gift. forgot to mention what I got. santa was nice this year! got couple 3/4" shackles(and some 1/4" ones as a joke pssd haha) the usual crap clothes. and my favorite, a 9500lbs winch!!! YAY -bounce-
  11. I thought that 555's were dana corp. product?
  12. Im assuming you have a temp gauge too? if not, what difference are you talking about? and to stick with the theme, the trail boss has now turned revovery vehical!!!! thats right, 9500lbs winch -bounce- -bounce- -bounce- -bounce- best christmas I(or my pathy) have ever had. *heads out to grage to do install*
  13. lets see/hear what everyone got for christmas this year!
  14. $20 bucks worth of gas. some "custom" body work. and a fawked CV
  15. 88, plz dont tell me thats your front end... if it is, what do you expect? haha. you cut the bumpstop parts off your UCA?!?!?! And nice CV angles!!!
  16. actually, best idea would be to make a bumper that mounts where the stock bumper mounts and also mounts to where the stock hitch does. aka mounting it to as many possable locations. trainman, I belive he wants to loose the hitch cause it KILLS departure angle. I could be wrong but thats what I take it as.
  17. you will have to find some other means of recovery points. I used the stock ones on my wd21 which unlike your guys' paths, it has something called a FRAME at anyrate, I bent mine up to fawk from side pulles. now it didnt do anything but bend up on my path, but on a caR50 it could do some serious damage IMO.
  18. if youve got the money to ship a frame, then find a good welder and have them take there time and do a good job on patching your frame.
  19. Id get an alarm even for a "cheap" stereo. just get somthing basic, but make it loud as hell and flash alot of lights. Ive got 2 sirens and it is also wired to my 4 100watt lights on the roof(along with my parking lights) and will be wired to my undercarage lights too, if I ever get around to it. If you got the balls to be dickin around with all that light and noise you can have my stereo. but no matter what, if they want somting, they will get it. I play my stereo loud, all the time. ill admit. I do turn it down when im in a neighbor hood-just being kind. and also at lights iff theres alot of ppl/older ppl around just cause im not a complete jack ass(and its LOUD)but like I said, I will play mine loud'n'proud and have yet to get broken into(knock of wood). IMO its totaly depends on where you park. I will park in a really well lite parking lot and walk the extra block or two just so my truck is in the light. I back right the fawk up close to poles/walls so know one can get my box out. at school I will park in the lot where I KNOW a camera can/will be veiwing my truck at ALL times(even if it means making my own spot sssh ). my 2cents
  20. I wouldnt put coilovers on my IFS. guess you didnt see bach's truck(black92se). he has fox coils on the front IFS. TM lift tho. but stock UCA. im either going to go with 5.5" EB or get a set custom wound along with a nice set of shocks(when I say nice, I mean long. I dont give a rats ass about ride)
  21. in that pic 88 is running 3/4 heavy cheavy shocks. for some reason I belive there 28 or 29" long. heres a pic of my path with rancho RS5112's. 26" ext. and then with a simple long arm...
  22. http://www.f-o-a.com/ anyone used them? 16" air shock 145$ usd 16" coil over 175$ usd... (fox would be 315$ usd) for that price I almost want to buy a set of 16" coil overs for the rear and 12" for the front. santa
  23. yes, I know that the kits them selves are cheap(like I said, under $50). but labour shouldnt be an issue for 88 as im sure he would do it himself.
