  1. Just to Clarify, I suggested Panhard Bar because when you lift the rear end, and the Panhard bar is no longer level, you usually have a harder time lining it back up without exerting some force to line it up, (ie raising the axle to the body, compressing the suspension) Once its back on and sitting unlevel, there is some force at work here since the suspension is working against the only link that is keeping it compressed. the link on the body side if removed, would relieve some of that pressure. Yes the Panhard will effect this slightly if it is not set up to its proper geometry.
  2. Undo the Panhard Bar and see if that takes up some of the issue. it tend to pull the Pass Side down a little if you haven't got a drop down bracket.
  3. Cut and ground the Steering stabilizer bracket off my Centerlink to make room for the Rancho version. YA for having 2 hours to "myself" to play with the new Dremel, and BOO for having to use that 2 hours to play with an inanimate object and not myself.
  4. Southern Ontario Canada. There is very little original growth left in all of Ontario. Most has been logged at one time or another, or turned into farming fields. Only when you go into No Man's land Northern Ontario do you find areas of Crown land that have been saved. But still.... Only a few decent provincial parks that have old growth. Other Provinces have done far better at keeping things they way they should be.
  5. Happy New Year Everyone! This one is most definitely going to be the year I win the lottery and retire.... I can FEEL it!
  6. Pffffffft. You let that little branch stop you? Nice location. Wish trees here were that big.
  7. I've had 3 Pathy's. 2 that were 90-93, and this current one that's a 95. The first 2 had a browning grey interior. This one, is ACTUAL grey. I bought an Inclinometer that was listed as grey, the cover is the browning grey. Be careful what you get.
  8. Thats the nature of the beast. Sometimes if something goes, its not the part that went that was the original problem. Sometimes its something that made the part go belly up in the first place. Thankfully for you its only an annoying problem that isn't extremely expensive. I've heard other horror stories of people losing transmissions and just replacing them with new units, then finding out the new unit does the same thing not very long down the road because they failed to find the origin of the problem. At least its only an Alternator. I know this isn't extremely helpful, but try and consider the fact that you're driving a 16 year old vehicle and its bound to have things go wrong from time to time. Although they are nuisances, Your going to be hard pressed to find other vehicles of the same vintage without their own set of problems. Think of it in a positive way to keep a cool head if you can. You are now positive, its not an Alternator problem and you can focus your efforts in different solutions. I personally haven't got a clue, but just wanted to post so that you don't just say, "F*** IT!" and sell it, go thru all that trouble and find something else with it's own bag of issues. Good luck. Keep us posted if you track it down.
  9. Ya x2 on that. Great job and thanks for sharing the WHOLE process up to now. Keep us posted with the final shots so we can all see how it turned out. Really nice work and thanks for contributing.
  10. I had this discussion with AK9849cy when we were going over the initial preliminaries in the making of it. I had remembered in the past we had talked about it being better to raise the Axle mount side up rather then drop the frame side down to get everything to be set up more desirable. What he mentioned to me was that when looking into this option in the past, there would be problems with the raised mount hitting the Frame when flexing. Also, it would not be a Bolt on application either.
  11. Happy Belated Birthday man. Hope it was a good one.
  12. Merry Christmas all. Been busy here watching the kids scream, shout and argue over toys. Yay.......
  13. This is Nige's Old Custom Bender Built Rear Bumper. (say that 10x fast) I can say one thing. It's the sickest rear bumper I've come across.
  14. Welcome to the family. Now that you're registered you can take a look at the members rides section and get some great idea's for yourself and your girlfriend.
  15. Your Using a torque wrench to take it off? If so, thats a bad Idea. If you haven't already lubed the hell out of it, another thing you can do is use bee's wax, and melt it on the threads. I know some mechanics do that to get the threads to break loose. Have you tried a longer breaker bar?
  16. I think it looks a lot like their X trail they put out. .
  17. I knew one of you guys were going to comment on that. I guess I should be honored it came from the Asshat Corp Leader. And for the record... I'm only gay when I touch myself. Which isn't very much considering the number of offspring I have.
  18. Keep in mind SwayAways have a different Spring Ratio. They are more heavy duty then the OEM T-bars. When I swapped mine on my first Pathy, I found the front end gave me a bit more harsh of a ride because i didn't have enough weight on the front end. Maybe it would have been a bit better with a ARB and Winch on there. Perhaps my OEM's were worn out though and I was used to that from the day I bought it. I just bought the SwayAways when I did the lift regardless if I needed them at that time. Just a thought.
  19. Can someone post me up the size of the Nut that holds the Pitman arm on please? I'm no where near my Rig for the next few days but want to bring what I need for when I get there. I just know its larger and I'm not sure I own the proper size or not. Much appreciated.

Precise1 beat me to it. My nut is also 41mm.

The pipe wrenches work perfect. Used them for over 10 years for this purpose... Round the head? They are made for turning pipes? Guess they make pipes a little rounder? But honestly, get the jaws tight around the nut and heave away. The most they do is leave a tooth mark in the nut.

The 0770 box was used til 2001. There are many Xterra's with that Pathy box.

  20. Too much. There's plenty of great ones out there in great condition, you can find a manual version, and with lower Miles for cheaper then that. Why don't you do what I did and make it an adventure with your son. I bought mine in Florida even though I'm from Canada. You'd have a story to tell for the rest of your lives and it will make the bond for the vehicle all that more strong. Doesn't have to be in another country or anything but you can make your search radius further.
  21. He's got a Hardbody. Try not to take that the wrong way you bunch of asshats.
  22. Fun is an understatement.... Are you sure they absolutely HAVE to be changed? I redid the whole front end bushings and after much research and seeing the pain in the ass it was going to be, decided that even though they are 15 years old, they didn't have any play and didnt need to be changed yet. Good luck.
  23. happy belated birthday all. Hope it was a blast.
  24. I could have sworn you said you were finished talking about cup holders.
