I don't suppose there will be any mock up in the future for Skids for the early models would there? Be so nice to have a supplier again. Especially since you're working with aluminum. I'd make a purchase.

My Tire carrier used to squeak like hell on my first, a 91. Drove me nuts. Check that area and see if thats it.

If and when you do plan on going the SAS route, I call DIBS on those Angled spacers you made! That is if you will be selling them. I was going to send a PM your way to find out more about how you would feel about making another set. Keep me in mind if they become available.

Same here. That's a really cool option. If you happen to come across another system, please keep an eye open for me too. I'd love to do this mod. I'm guessing I could find a place to put that reservoir and it would be nice to take that empty switch spot on the dash out and put something that actually has a function there. I had no idea these even existed on our rigs till now. Man..... just and other example of how you guys have superior models then us in North America. Diesels, Wide fender flares, headlight washers, Factory inclinometer mounts for 94-95 dashes, this list keeps growing.

That is cool! Maybe one day, much farther in the future, I'll get that second washer bottle shipped to Canada. I like that idea. *edit* Scratch that... just remembered you guys are right hand drive, You guys still have the washer bottles, air filter, charcoal canaster, etc, on the left side. Since you guys have the brake system the right side it frees up real estate for the bottle. That particular spot isn't gonna work on out models. But.... curious. They came factory so the wiring for them is in all harnesses?
-
That's fine with me. Not a big issue.

Absolutely. I drive down to the Niagara Region about once a month so it wont be any trouble. Not to mention I'd love to see you rig First hand. I'll try not to drool on all your stuff.

A wet dry Vac then. And Whats the chances....... Try it and I'll keep an eye on the obituaries.
-
Well I'm happy to hear that our extended family made it thru that shake. When I first saw that it happened in Christchurch my first thoughts were of you guys. I can only hope that you guys can recover from mother natures temper. If there's anything I can do for you guys let me know.

Thanks OldSlowReliable. I'd appreciate that for sure. If Precise does make another CAD mock up and posts it, I'll grab it and see what it would cost for a local to make one but until that time i'll take you up on the offer. And Precise, it sure would be a great option for anyone that doesn't have the ability, tools, time, etc, to take a detailed model to take to someone local fab shop or welder and get them to make one up for themselves. I'm sure it would be WAY cheaper then what is offered out there for us now. On the other hand, I'm not sure if perhaps you'd rather make some coin since it would be your design.

How about a powerful shopvac. Make sure its empty and then try to suck it out. Worth a shot.

What he's really trying to say is that he really like's Pezzy's rear end.

Ahhhh. I see. Well The fuel pump as you probably know then is inside the tank that you can get access to from the door hatch in the back of the vehicle. Just the trim by the hatch door needs to be removed to get the carpet up. I've heard that its rare that the Fuel pump goes on these vehicles but hey, if he's already picked up a fuel pump then by all means. I won't be able to help on job price quote though. Perhaps someone on here can chime in with a flat rate job time so you can see how long the dealer takes to do it and charge accordingly. Or just call a dealership and ask for the time on the job. Good luck with the install and solving the issues.
-
Yes it has an access hatch. just under the carpet in the rear. It has 4 bolts and gives you access directly over the sending unit. You can always go to a wrecker and find another Automatic Pathy years 90-95 and take the MAF and swap it. might be a cheaper route before handing off to someone that's gonna charge ya.

Hey B. I've been digging thru the archives because I know you posted those plans up once AGES ago. I can't seem to find them. I'll keep sifting, but in the mean time, If its not too much trouble and you find them easy enough, think you could post them up here? If nothing else perhaps I could just hand them to someone local if no one on here wants to take a bite and see if I can get the job done for not too much. I'll keep searching. I remember the thread too. a couple other people had put up their design ideas as well and there was even mention that the proper way to have the bracket made would be on the Axle side raising the mount up instead of lowering it from the frame If I recall correctly. At any rate... *continues searching* *edit* I think I found the thread where you posted the images,.... I think..... but of course they are long gone. And I also found the thread mentioning about the axle mount being made higher instead. Old Topic Turned New! Axle mount raised. Start digging would ya Precise.

Keep in mind if someone tightens the oil filter on too tight when they installed it, you can find yourself in a really crappy situation if you put a screw driver thru it, go to turn it and all you doing is collapsing the filter. you could end up with a filter that may be harder to take off then one that was full.

Hey all. I'm just looking for someone who has a welder and knows how to use it to build me a Panhard Rod drop down bracket similar to the one in the photo. I haven't the time to try and measure, mock up or practice welding to make this for myself. It would need to accommodate a 3" lift. I checked with Calmini on the price of theirs that they sell with the Full suspension kit and I think they wanted around $75.00 + shipping which I think might be a little high but regardless of that, even if I did spend $40.00 for one it I wouldn't most likely buy it from them. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'm sure we can work out a price that seems acceptable to us both.

That's funny, I just asked him about this particular thread a few weeks ago. This was his reply to me. So there we have it.

The Link to Aarons Write up no longer works. Anyway we can get a hold of a copy of his write up and store it on our server. I hate relying on write ups posted from members personal sites. Keeping it all under 1 roof is much more reliable. And not to be too picky but Redpath88 On page 1 Post #6 your 4th photo is gone as well as post #13, 1st picture. Just a heads up. This is an amazing write up but without 88's write up it leaves holes for people to try and figure out.

Stock Paint OEM or Flat. WAY easier on the pocket, Easy enough to repaint.

I like it. I was going to try and do something similar to my own eventually, but as stated by others with a drawer system and I'm going to see if I can make it so its easily removable for those times when big loads are needed. But I like your top down version. I think you did a great job on it. Nice work.

I think what he's saying is to weld the washer to the frame instead of the back of the race. Weld the Washer to the frame to fill the bigger hole, then once centered properly with the right amount of clearance for the rod, (about 1/16"-1/8" around the rod for suspension movement) you can then weld the bearing race to the frame mount. And just for clarity sake, the Torque spec for the compression rod to frame mount is 110 ftlb on the higher end of the acceptable spec.

Going to bring this back to life since to keep the forums from getting riddled with even more High Output Alternator questions. Since this last post in 2005 many things have been discovered. -A Maxima Alty -125 amp -A Quest Alty - 110 amp -A Mean Grean Alty -180 amp -Maniac Alty. -150amp And that last option I'm pretty sure the Maxima Alty has a 190 amp output so even better. I'm sure there are more. Just added a few for starters.

I suggest getting the switch from silverton, Popping it in, and exclaiming "BRILLIANT! SIMPLY BRILLIANT!" when it solves all your Window woes. If that doesn't work, head down to your local junkyard and pop the whole master assembly out of a wreck and take it home with you. And Welcome to the Community. That's amazing that you're still the original owner. These forums can make that vehicle the only vehicle you'll ever need your whole life. Keep it alive baby..... Keep it alive.
