  1. So your saying that the inside diameter of the hole in the wheel is larger than the outside diameter of the hub assembly on the truck... and wondering if that is OK. Is this correct? If so then yes it is OK and it will not hurt anything since they are lug centric as mentioned above. As for covers, I don't think your going to find anything to "fill" that gap, but you can get open-ended center caps like what is used on the rear. Here are a couple cell phone pics of the wheels on my yota ('83 solid axle). *Disregard the rust on the center "caps" and the fact that the wheels need cleaned up as these will be moving to the Pathy soon and I will be cleaning them and getting replacement centers. If you look at the second pic the chrome cap has a snug fit on the inner assembly on my yota. Placing these on the Pathy (having a slightly larger gap) you just may find that dirt/mud collects more in there, just take a little extra time spraying it out when you clean them.
  2. This is the point, out of all possible, that I expected to be brought up I have been reading a lot of experiences and opinions on the HF 8,9 and 10K winches. There is far more about the 8K than the other two and overall people seem to be happy with them (the vast majority really). The single most common issue with them is speed, which really is not that big of a deal IMO Even if it is slow, as long as it gets the job done, it's better than not having one at all. But still, with it's price range being so much lower than 1st and 2nd place, it did extremely well.
  3. You can call BS all you like, it don't matter to me as I did not set the rules but according to their rules It's ability to pull stopped and it was not user error *This should also be something of note for T-Max, as it would seem the quality control on the lines, built by them or not, may need re-evaluated... it was afterall only the second pull. Now it could be argued that "Joe Consumer" could fix that.. and that is an argument that i would support, but I was not a judge during the shoot-out so.... Everyone is likely to have one problem or another with the results so take them as you see fit. This is in no way an end all ranking showing the best and worst.. as they said "sometimes s**t happens", well this time it happened to T-Max and well, it happened to Mile Marker marker as well __________________________________________________ EDIT: hmmm, on second thought perhaps the average "Joe Consumer" may not have been able to safely fix that line issue. My basis for this is the fact that i work in an field where the ability to tie a solid knot is extremely important.. and the typical person entering the field cannot tie an effective knot They have to be shown.
  4. Although I do agree that it's to bad that the T-Max did not make it that far, it failed. Even if it was just the line the end result would be the same... Your out in the middle of no where stuck because the winch failed you as it was "out of the box" They set the rules before starting and it failed to complete the task
  5. yep factory option, not real common. A few people around here have them. Look at the bottom of the page, under the posting ID. It gives you a method of contacting the seller
  6. Superwinch seemed to like the article http://www.superwinch.com/NEW.html *Thanks goes out to Thunderbox for this link
  7. With recent talk about winches here, I figured this might be worth posting. It's not a perfectly controlled comparison, but it does seem to be more real world that some test are. Winches In Hell - A timeless duel to the death
  8. Welcome back... it's been what, 7 or 8 months? If the board looks different it because we finally managed an upgrade... 88 was able to do it after we got Jim to come back to the boards (even if it was only briefly )
  9. Although I have used Fram oil filters on most of my vehicles and had no trouble I do tend to use alternatives currently (on both the Yota and Pathy), but when it comes to fuel filters I don't think I can say that I have ever used anything but Fram fuel filters I have never had a problem with them nor have I ever known anyone to voice a problem with them.
  10. I am sure it can be shipped without a pallet, but some people would choose to use one if they have the option. There are some pallets that would fit the bar perfectly but I am sure most would not have access to them as they may be more of a specialty size. I shipped the rear section (3 feet worth) of a Toyota frame 3/4 the way across the country one time, wrapped in cardboard and had no problems either. At any rate, I just mentioned that as an example and perhaps a reason for the "150lbs" mark he quoted.
  11. Just the bumper is 85lbs... but as Glenn mentioned you need to add the packaging weight. If shipped on a pallet it depends a lot on how much the pallet weights, some of them can be on the heavy side.
  12. Yes it can and will show more than one code if more than one has been triggered. It will flash one after another until it displays them all.
  13. Perhaps you should take the "check vacuum/air lines" one step further and just head down to the local parts store and buy enough new hose of each size and replace them all. It won't cost to much and even if it does not fix the problem you will at least be sure that it's not the hoses. It will also give you a perfect opportunity to check all the hose fittings, couplings and T's for cracks
  14. Looks good, keep us posted on this one
  15. The only reason I locked it was because Steve got the answer he was looking for, no real need for further discussion. But alas, I return to the thread only to find ModSpam!
  16. It's been more than sixty days since the last post. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=12459 If you look at the bottom you will find a drop down menu option set to "From: 60 days" change that to "From: 90 days" or "Show all" and your thread will appear in the listing. You can also save what ever setting you choose
  17. It allows you to start the engine without having to press the clutch in.... that means that you can start the truck while it is in gear, so be CAREFULL
  18. Yep, that is correct *Front of truck* 2---------1 4---------3 6---------5 ***Firewall***
  19. There is a small section of the WP mating surface that does extend out, but I have never known it to cause any problems. Here is a pic so you know whats there
  20. Those four bolts are the only thing that should be holding it on, maybe someone put some sort of adhesive between the two You should be able to stick a small screw driver/prybar between the two and seperate them if just pulling by hand has not worked.
  21. Jims not around to much any more, but this should help you out. How To: Replacement rear coil spring lift - 1987-1995 Nissan Pathfinder Written by our own 88Pathoffroad It's worth reading as there is more info on the subject as a whole.
