  1. :o I'm terribly sorry to hear of your loss. :sniff: :sniff: Just be glad it was the Pathfinder and not you. I'v seen a couple of NISMO Off Road edition Frontiers and they look sweet. The Xterras are awesome too (but the new body styling  ). That being said the extended Rubicons are nice, lockers front and rear... Of course the new Frontiers and Titans come with that too Of course the Liberty comes in a diesel, and you could save a "boatload" (sorry I just had too) of money by making your own biodiesel, not to mention help the environment at the same time! Really there are a lot of choices out there. I haven't even mentioned Land Rovers or the Dodge Powerwagon or any of Toyotas offerings!
  2. The rear brakes are available on most years not just 95s, mine's got em! Most junkyard pathy's I see either don't have rear discs. The only one I have seen had rusted and deeply scored rotars. Course the local yards don't have many pathys there's usually only one or none at all when I make my irregular trips to Moss Landing Pick n Pull.
  3. I wonder how much of a hassle it would be to import it to the US... sssh
  4. I'm totally down for this idea! I like derogates first picture, has a lot of color though, might be expensive to print up. Maybe we could add a spot to include "Invited by: xxxx" There are a lot of pathys here in Santa Cruz. Hey Transworld you want to go to Hollister Hills sometime?

Seems like converting a 98 to 4 wheel drive might be very difficult since it is unibody. Anyways welcome to the forums! Put some extremely aggresive tread tires on there (think Super Swampers or Swamper Boggers) and you should be able to hang out off road with us four wheelers! TrailChaser is a member of Texas Nissan Trucks, talk to him to get in contact with a local four wheel group. Trailchaser's member profile
  6. Well for cheap Vengeful is right you can't beat the Dunlop Radial Mud Rovers, latest Road & Track Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com) ad lists 32x11.5 r15 at $107 each. Kumho Venture MT's are also listed at $107 for the same size. Also Desert Rat (www.desertrat.com) has a deal on tire and wheel packages: Cooper Tire Wildcat EXT Radial (mud terrain tread) 32x11.5 r 15 mounted and balanced on Rock Crawler black steel wheels for $699. Also you can get retreaded tires for super duper cheap (54.99 for 31x10.5 r15 MT's!) from www.high-tec-retreading.com I don't think they have 32" tires though...
  7. In the 88 pathys the sound system is way different than your guyses, no pillar tweeters and the rear speakers are below the rear triangle window (where your guyses doors would be). Thus no depth probs for mounting 6x9s, further proving my stance that two doors kick but! And I don't think that one of the tweeters blew I think it's just my crappy cassette adapter to play my walkman. Pretty sure it's just distorting the highs since I don't hear it when listening to the radio. Still haven't blown the speakers, but I have yet to try the turn it up to max and cover your ears strategy. 6x9's should be here thursday, unfortunatly I'm out of town this thursday - sunday :sniff:
  8. I don't know anything about optima batteries but I do have one of the best battery stories ever. One day I was sitting in my house and I hear this HUGE BOOM noise. A while later my dad came up to the house. He and one of our field workers had tried to start our Fiat tractor and the battery exploded! Now this isn't you're regular car battery it is an extremely long battery to power accessories and stuff. Dad and Mario were lucky they didn't get hurt or killed. :o
  9. The Hyundai I could probably outrun, but definate no on the cop car, trust me I'v tried. However a stock CRX has no problem, at least if you're on twisty backroads. sly Not that I'v tried but my friend has done this a couple of times. He sold that CRX, and now he's got another with a B16 swap, that M F'er is FAST! Looks real good too, not riced out like every other CRX on the road. Not as fast as his corvette though. Or his V8 Plymouth (can't remember what model it is right now) with super hot cams. Thing can't idle for more than a minute or so, but it does 60 in first gear! Did I mention that this guy has a lot of cars? He doesn't have a 4x4 yet though, I'm pestering him about that. Anyway after I got a ticket for speeding and less than a week later got in an accident in my old car I decided that it was time to play it a bit more cautiously. I still drive fast but never faster than is prudent for the road conditions. And as for the pathy being invisible to cops, oh yeah it is! I went bye a CHiP doing 45 in a 35 and he didn't so much as blink. Probably because there were a couple of other cars in front of me doing the same thing and in California we'v got this great little "Flow of Traffic" law, if everyone else is going the same speed you are (as long as it's not something outrageous) you can't get a ticket.
  10. Well with the stereo install emminant (new speakers are schedualed to arrive on the 18th), I'm trying my damndest to blow out the old speakers. I hope nobody wants them because I think one of the tweeters has already gone! OH BOY can't wait for the new stereo! -bounce- -bounce- -bounce- -bounce-
  11. Terrible tragedy about the auto dieing. I'm going to put in a tranny cooler and get the tranny completely flushed ASAP, as it seems that we'v had a lot of trannys dieing recently. Does your truck have the pillar tweeter mounts? If so I might be interested in those. Don't donate it, make as much money off it as possible! Part it out here and then sell the rest to a junkyard. They don't give you much at the J/Y but it's something, might even get you a couple tanks of gas for your new truck! (Speaking of gas don't forget to drain the gas tank!) Hope your new Pathy gives you as much love as your old did.
  12. OH BOY! OH BOY! I'm just so excited I had to make a post! I just ordered Kenwood KFC 6959ie speakers from Crutchfield for the back (those are 2 way 6x9" speakers for those of you not in the know ) I already have JBL 5 1/4 component speakers for the front as well as an Alpine in dash cd and two Alpine amps. Well that is to say I will have them as soon as I get them from my friend. As soon as the 6x9's arrive I'm going to install it all (with some help from the friend who has everything)! OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY! -bounce- :cool2: Oh yea and as soon as everythings installed the old speakers and the old Kenwood cassette player will be up for grabs, most likely for free.
  13. 2 door pathy's F'ing ROCK!!!! WOOOO!!!!! -bounce- To be fair though I do like the looks of the R50, but nowhere near as much as the two door WD21! The four door WD21's look OK, and I can't stand the 05 pathys, too big and too ugly for my tastes. I thought it was very funny that in the ads for the 05 pathy it says the most off road capable pathfinder yet. ROFLMAO!!! No other pathy can beat the mighty 2 door! BWAHAHAHA! *Runs and hides from an oncoming mob of R50 owners armed with torches and pitchforks*
  14. Thanks for the info 88. Gonna order those 6x9's later today! :cool2:
  15. Sorry to double post but I'm getting no love in the tech section. Anyway I just got some 5 1/4" JBL component speakers from a friend of a friend and I was wondering how difficult of an install is this going to be in the front door panel speaker location? According to one post in the Aftermarket Stereo topic it can be done, but can it be done by a mere mortal like myself? According to crutchfield 5 1/4's will for sure fit in the rear mid-panel, but I want to install 6x9's there so I would much much prefer to install the 5 1/4's in the front. ~OK another question to tack on, will ANY 6x9's fit in the rear mid panel, or are there any serious depth or height restrictions that can't be cured with trimming?
  16. OK I saw in an earlier post that 5 1/4 components will fit in the front, my question is how difficult of an install is this?
  17. Jeeps are fine for off-roading, it's just that everyone has one and I don't really want to be just like everyone else. If Jeeps didn't make good off road rigs you wouldn't see them being used in competitions Speaking of top down doors off wheeling fun you could also get a Suzuki Samurai. Of course it's only got a 60 hp engine (and here I was thinking the Pathy was underpowered!). I'v seen a couple modified for off-roading around here and I really like the looks of them. Hmm I wonder how much one would cost? :contract: :X Of course I'd never get rid of the pathy, but having a strictly trail rig would be fun...
  18. I have the same prob, usually I just put it back into acc then off again, then on again, then off again etc. until it comes out. A major pain in the but.
  19. ¡Hola! Bienvinedos a NPORA. Hope you enjoy this board as much as I do.
  20. Sounds good! Now I gotta go get some poser and action shots of the pathy. Hmm  Anyone up for Hollister Hills (local OHV park, site of Four Wheelers Top Truck Challenge for all you non Cali folk) Saturday? Oh oh oh! A shot of me and my pathy in the vineyards! Yeah that'd be awesome! I'd better get snappin (good thing I'v got a 256 meg flash card!).
  21. OK I'v already posted this pic but why not again? That's Rita (grey) and Gracie (brown). They're wonderfull dogs and love living on our vineyard ranch. They might not look it but they're vicous killers, they'v taken down (killed or mortally wounded) 3 deer, and wounded one (it got away cause our neighbors gardener chased them away from it). Don't worry though they're very nice to humans.
  22. I think the shop might have adjusted the torsion bars a little, it does seem like a little much for just a ball joint replacement.
  23. Just changed the oil a couple of hours ago. The Castol High Mileage stuff is very odorific, I noticed that this time. Also I want to punch whoever put the oil filter under the exaust and over the starter then put all kinds of wires and vacuum tubes to prevent you from getting a good turn with a slip joint wrench, and made it so you have to screw the oil filter on by feel! :furious: Venting over. On a positive note I also replaced the brass seal ring on the drain plug, so no leaks!
  24. Yea it is just the light. Put transfer case into hi then rolled forward a couple of feet, then floored it and no wheel spin, the light then came on after I let off the gas.
  25. Got the ball joints replaced yesterday and what a difference it makes! The ride is less rough now, and it handles better too. Total cost $590, parts labor and alignment. Did I mention that the front is now riding about 2 inches higher now? Now the front is even with the back! Before: After:
