  1. Ooh me likey! And pay no attention to those R50 owners, just make sure they fit 2 door pathys! You gonna make rear bumpers too perhaps? (once again just for us WD21 ers )

    lift kits

Depends on how much lift you want. If you just want an inch or so you can make a rubber spacer out of a mud flap or some other suitable material. If you want 2 to 3 inches modified Jeep Grand Cherokee or Ford F100 coil springs (JGC are generally thought to work best) should do the trick. Link to spring info Welding your springs to something is a bad idea, welds break and you can't get the springs out easily if something goes wrong. Oh yea and if you want even MORE lift you can try and modify JGC lift springs, which would give you approx 2 or 3 inches plus however many inches the lift spring gives. At least thats the theory, hasn't been tested much.
  3. I'm not exactly sure but it sounds like a wiring problem, maybe a short or a busted relay.
  4. Just got back from Moss Landing Pick n Pull and I also found a pathy with a hitch! Unfortunatly me and my friend managed to get one bolt off and that was it! The bolts are extremely awkward to get at, and on one side the rim that they were using to support the truck was blocking one of the bolts. I might go back tues with more tools (an extention for the ratchet would have made things a bit easier and a hi lift jack will be required to get at the one bolt). It was on an 87. It was very picked at just about everything was gone, including the front tow hook so I didn't get that either. And the air intake tubing attaches differently to the fender than it does on the 88 so I couldn't salvage that either! On the plus side I did get a tire to put on my spare, a General Grabber AP. And it only cost me $10.10 since it was half off day! (well plus the $2 admission fee).
  5. I'm going to JY tomorrow (hopefully)(woo hoo 1/2 off sale!! ) Hopefully I will have as good of luck as you did. Personally I would have pulled both of them and then sold them here
  6. Question! Does the rear bumper have built in attachment points or a built in hitch?
  7. There was a red one a couple of weeks ago. I shoulda got it... :sniff:
  8. I heard two opinions about replacing upper BJs: 1st it's easy. 2nd its a PITA. I decided that since 88 made the PITA comment, and he is a far better mechanic then I ever will be, that I would take it to a shop and have it done. Cost me a bit more than it would have if I had done it myself, but they also aligned it afterwards rotated my tires and cranked my Tbars so the front was even with the back at no extra cost. I also found that the ride was nicer post BJ replacement.
  9. I'm pretty sure that we should all try and post templates for BL and non BL gaurds. Hopefully I'm going to get around to it this weekend. I'v got a lot of homework to do though so it might have to wait.
  10. I was just thinking of getting a big mudflap and trimming that to fit. Hmm but how to attach it? I'm thinking zip ties, but that would look a little getto. Unfortunatly almost all of the little plastic tabs are gone along with the rubber, so I guess zip ties will have to do.
  11. Yea that's what I'm thinking of doing. Hmm let me know how yours works out and I'll prob duplicate it.
  12. Well it finally happened the rubber/plastic sheet that protects the engine from mud and water is gone on the passanger side. I think it might have happened when I took it in to get the egr fixed last month but whatever. Right now there's no problem because it's dry out but I want to do something before winter comes. What do you guys suggest, can I buy a new one from nissan or am I going to have to make my own?
  13. COOL! :cool2: Probably wouldn't work well in our pathys though, too many bumps and the hard drive's toast. And considering the state my weatherstripping is in (read deteriorating) it wouldn't last one winter. Cool idea though!
  14. Does anyone happen to know what brand oil filter relocation kit AC sells?
  15. Yea they probably will be. Then again maybe not, just make sure that they can extend 24 inches and it might be fine.
  16. Rancho shocks expensive? The RS5000 (part number RS5116) are $41 each from www.summitracing.com Doesn't seem to expensive to me. But if you must get cheaper shocks summit also sells skyjacker pro comp and superlift shocks in the $32 to $40 range.
  17. Rami that probably means that your upper or lower ball joints are worn, replace em and it should align. Either that or they're fulla crap.
  18. Definatly check the fluid level first, if it is even 1/4 down top it off, the fluid sensor is really sensitive, and can be tripped when going around corners (fluid goes to one side and trips it).
  19. You could just add your name to danks design you know... that's what I'm gunna do! I also prefer danks design because it gives some info of what the site is all about. I will say that killvox's is very clean and simple, therefore eyecatching I just prefer the others!
  20. I just mean that people who don't off road won't pay attention to a pathy getting all articumalated, but they will identify with the pic of just the back of a pathy. I'm not saying that you're pathfinder is any less capable then mine pezzy!
  21. Finally! I like the one with 88's pic, but I think that might scare away some people who only use the pathy as transportation. I'll prob use both, the R50 for pathys that look like they don't see the dirt ever, and pathys that look like they get used. Thanks DJDANK! And no hard feelings Killvox, I just think DJ's design looks better. sssh
  22. Welcome! Yup lots of people here who don't off road much or at all. We even have a number of other peeps from Cali, including me! (SC stands for Santa Cruz )
  23. I just tried to access that site too and it appears to be down, just sends me to an html directory with forbidden, password protected, and empty folders...
  24. HAHAHA!!! I dunno if the pathfinder could do that... I don't think my tires are "bulky" enough! We all oughta go out there to preform Hummer rescue services.
  25. Also it should be mentioned that AC's upper control arms are complete crap. You'd be better off with the stock UCA's instead of AC's.
