  1. w00t! 2 new Cali members in one week! Welcome RIKK! I'm from Santa Cruz! Anyway the closest off road destination for you is Hollister Hills in, get this, Hollister.
  2. I'm assuming that you still have the stock temporary use only spare correct? If so, yes there is a spot to put the tire in the back (maybe). Pull up the carpeting in the rear close to where the stock jack is supposed to go. If you're lucky there should be a big piece of foam or other such material in the hole where the spare tire can go. Of course you'll need a way to latch the tire down, which means going to the junkyard to find the necesary parts. But if you already have the place to mount the spare tire carrier why not just get another one? They shouldn't charge you too much and it'd be a lot more convenient than trying to get a spare off the roof (think about it: it's night and its raining and you have no cell phone coverage, would you rather get a tire off the roof, or simply pull it off the carrier?). Also if you still have the teeny tiny temp use only spare you should really upgrade to a full size spare (junkyard once again!). The temp spare can cause damage to your differential if you use it for too long, and it's also no good if you plan on doing any four wheeling. Just my $0.02
  3. w00t! Another central Cali member! Welcome from Santa Cruz! (SC88pathy ) Check out our map we'v got lots o members from the central california area! Map thread link
  4. Yah the pathy wouldn't have too much trouble towing that much, they are rated to tow 3500 pounds (auto or manual) according to the factory, but people here have towed quite a bit more than that without too many problems. You could prob even trailer the integra (probably be better for it). Just make sure that you get a pathy with rear disc brakes. If you get an auto DEFINATLY add an external cooler, the factory cooler is very bad, and turn off overdrive when towing.
  5. Nope no members only board (and definatly no members only jackets!) Pezzy is refering to the members section of www.nissanpathfinders.com
  6. Yea they will be using leaf springs :o :sniff: Better than no sas at all right? Maybe...
  7. Well I might as well chime in, my 88 has 206000 miles right now, and she's still going strong!
  8. Um if you're getting 35 inch tires you're in for a big surprise, namely that they won't fit, unless you'v got the 4 inch trailmaster lift plus Calmini, rough country or superlift UCAs, plus JGC springs in rear PLUS a 3 inch body lift. Or a solid axle swap. And even then it's going to be sketchy and the V6 is going to be straining to turn them. I hope you meant 33's which fit much easier with only 6 inches of lift (3 inch body and 3 inch suspension).
  9. Once again call rough country, they sell the exact same UCA's for a heck of a lot cheaper. http://www.roughcountry.com/Nissan_Hardbody-2in.htm That's the kit from which you want the UCA's.
  10. A russian that doesn't like vodka?! Whats next, an asian who's bad at math? -alcohol-
  11. No doubt! This board is one of the friendliest and most helpfull on the internet! Even VSicks can be nice somtimes!
  12. You can't fool me! Thats a Yota! BOO!
  13. Sounds like a good upgrade to me!
  14. So whats the word on this, did they announce it at SEMA? I don't see anything on their website.
  15. Oops forgot that was an SE only option. :X
  16. I assume you meant UPPER control arms right?
  17. Lets see what should you know about 1g pathys... They're a great deal! Seriously these motors will run forever (my 88 has 206k miles on it and doesn't burn a drop of oil). 17 MPG is about average, you can get a bit more if you clean the MAF sensor (see the how to section in the garage for more on that) change your Oxygen sensor change your plugs and make sure your air filter is clean, but don't expect to get much more than 20mpg freeway. Also if you still have the stock shocks there should be a switch somewhere that says Sport/Touring or something like that. It adjusts the stiffness of your shocks, I mostly drive with it on sport now and there is a noticable difference (body roll is almost zero and it's definatly not spongy).
  18. That's one thing I noticed about Hawaii too, lots and lots of lifted trucks. Especially Nissans! Most Nissans round here are all stock but at least half of the Nissy's I saw there were lifted. All this talk of Hawaii makes me want to go back!
  19. Well you can do Jeep Grand Cherokee springs in the rear, those should be REAL cheap from a Junkyard (look in the how to sub forum in the garage for the modifications neccesary to the springs). You definatly have to buy A-arms, rough country makes the cheapest best quality a arms by far (they are actually rebranded Superlift a arms). To get the a arms call rough country and tell them that you want the a arms from the nissan hardbody lift kit. Next you can fab your own idler arm brace. 88pathoffroad has done this, but he's not around right now. I'm sure somebody else knows how to make one... And thats about it, it'll give you around 3 inches of lift.
  20. Before you know it Filthy is going to be on the cover of JTune magazine! "ONE MAD TIGHT FO SHIZZLE DOGGY BOMB PATHFINDER!!! CHECK OUT THE TOTALLY JDM INCLINOMETER!! AND PEEP THE MAD TIGHT NEON TAILPIPE!! DONT LOOK IN BACK UNLESS YOU WANT TO SEE THE SHOCK AND AWE OF 100 NOS BOTTLES!"
  21. The sway bar is the long ass funny shaped bar that runs paralel to the axle. It connects in two places. The other bar that connects the axle in one spot and runs diagonal to the axle is a part of the suspension that I can't remember the name of right now.
  22. The engine for 87-89 pathys is a VG30i. I concur that definatly sounds like a timing belt failure, I hope your engine didn't self destruct! And have you tried running engine codes yet?
  23. Well oil and oil filter are pretty much universal. My suggestion would be to pester a friend to come over and go through it with you, it's really basic and anybody should be able to do it. I'm sure that the turbo diesel engines are different but removing the oil filter on the v6 can be major pain in the neck. Not sure about the specifics for your vehicle but there's nothing to be scared of.
  24. Volcano check, and black sand beach check. However we didn't get to spend as much time at the volcano as we would have liked too, that's what happens when you don't get started early in the morning and make a stop along the way. We went to the black sand beach at Pololu Valley, very very pretty!
