  1. Hmm, maybe it's just the light taking so long to turn on. I'll have to investigate this tomorrow.
  2. Well it's about time for me to change my oil and I was wondering what kind of oil everyone uses. I use Castrol GTX High Mileage 10w 40. I was going to make this into a poll at first, but then I decided there are just too many different brands, mixtures, and weights of oils to effectively create a poll.
  3. Yesterday I decided to throw it into 4 hi to make sure everything was working good, but it took a long time for the 4x4 light to turn on, had to go about 50 feet for it to engage, before it would only take about 10 or 15 feet to engage. What could be causing this?
  4. I got my 88 for $1500, of course it had around 190,000 miles at the time (205,000 now).
  5. Out of the three cars I have owned only one had AC that worked, and the Pathfinder isn't it. Previous owner told me that when the AC did work it wasn't very good. I just keep the windows down and comb my hair when I get where I'm going.
  6. I don't think 88's come with anything like that. It's a nice tool bag though leather (i think, might be imatation leather), a bunch of wrenches, plyers (might be from a previous owner), lug nut wrench and a bar for the jack (goes on the end of a very long bar for easy jack rotation). I think there might be another tool I'm forgetting right now in mine. Just go to J/Ys and look under back seats (stock location) and then everywhere else. I haven't seen one yet but I'v only seen two JY pathys so far. I do have another trip planned for next weekend, so if I see a toolbag I'll grab it for you.
  7. Welcome! As far as I know you're the only active member in the Santa Barbara area. We have a couple of LA and San Diego folks they might know. Glad to hear that you came to your senses about Heeps!
  8. OK I really want to do this. Now what do I do? I mean would any off the shelf oil pressure gauge work, or am I going to need a certain brand? And how exactly does the oil pressure sensor mount on the engine? I realize that I sound like a total newb, but than again I am, so :help:
  9. Mines got dual trip odometers too. I usually just end up reseting both at every fill up though. Yeah I just want to install an aftermarket pod style gauge, but I can't find any posts about installing one.
  10. Was that an easy install? Since my idiot light is still flickering do to a bad connection (at least I'm 90% certain it's a bad connection) I want to put in a real gauge so I can just ignore the darn light.
  11. Wait did your truck come with the oil pressure gauge or did you add it? Cause mine certainly doesn't have oil pressure, just the voltometer. If you did add it bravo it looks stock.
  12. Welcome! Where are you located? (I'm guessing Eatonville, but where's that?)
  13. Yeah the tires aren't the best for off roading, they're better than say a straight up HT tire but not as good as an AT. Good if you're mostly on roading with occasional moderate off roading, their tread wear is freakin amazing though. I'v had them on for almost 2 years and they're still at around 90% with no rotations! You don't have to buy 4 new tires at once, but it's probably best if you do (best that is besides for your pocket book).
  14. :o A look alike of my pathy! I too have a Burgandy 88 SEV6! Course mines got stock adjustable shocks and "lego" Nissan wheels. I even had to have my distributer replaced! But no ECU or cam probs, I had EGR problems instead.
  15. Personally I like the wrap over the headlights look. Would'v been nice to have one when I dented the metal next to the turn signal on a cement pillar in a parking garage.
  16. Hardware what's that gauge under your voltometer? ~ Oops made the your/you're mistake.
  17. The external carriers have a place to put a padlock on, I'v got one on mine. Of course this is all unimportant, if your truck didn't come factory with a external carrier there's no easy way to install it.
  18. Welcome! Hey you're even closer to me I'm in Felton/Santa Cruz area (hence SC88Pathy). Hollister Hills is the closest legal area around here. (stupid rizzum ragum santa cruz hippies! :furious: If they had it their way we'd all be riding bicycles.) We're also planning a trip to Lassen Nat. Forest sometime in July or August, check it out in the Trail Runs section.
  19. When wheeling music goes waay down or off completely. However when driving (listed by position in my cd case)(you asked for it...) Greenday, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Rancid, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphies, Bouncing Souls, Goldfinger, The Distillers, The Offspring, AFI, Pennywise, Less Than Jake, The Living End, MXPX, Rob Zombie, Metallica, Probot, Coal Chamber, Devildriver (their new CD drops tuesday!), Godsmack, ACDC, Static X, Motörhead, Superjoint Ritual, Mudvayne, Celldweller, Murderdolls, GWAR, and occasionally some Trance (you know thump thump electronica music) mix's. :type:
  20. Charlotte South Carolina right? What about hurricanes?
  21. Heeheehee Well he was asking for it... sssh
  22. Holy F***'in S*** Batman! Not really a pathy anymore but dayum is that awesome!
  23. There were a couple of Toyota models that came with Inclinometers including one of the vans I thin. They're a lot more common than the Nissan ones, but then again with the Nissan you're gaurenteed a fit and it matches the Pathy dash styling.
  24. Welcome! Looks like you'v got the same tires that I do (Uniroyal All Season H/T Laredos right?), except mine are mounted so the white lettering is on the inside.
  25. Or you coulda developed a leak since your oil change. :X
