  1. if any of you are interested in a 92 nissan pathfinder for parts only you can buy the whole thing off of me for only 500. all exterior parts are good. it has the old lego alloys. fairly new 30x9.50x15's spare tire rack roof rack and power everything. the interior got wet up to about the fuse box so im assuming everything up from that as far as electrical goes would be good. its in Pascagoula MS on a naval base. if you are interested please just email me as I dont have much time to be on websites and what not. Thank you all for all your help during my ownership of this pathfinder. I will be buying a new titan in about 8 or 9 months. Im staying nissan just not the beloved pathfinder. My wife wants me to get one of the new ones and all I could do was laugh. Anyway, let me know my email is jonesj@groves.navy.mil thanks again. god bless
  2. thanks guys and gals. I think im actually going to get a 4 banger sports car. I was thinking about some of the s2000's or even some integras. I was also considering a 96 or 97 thunderbird. i think it will just better that way as far as gas goes. Ill be traveling a lot too because my base is going to close because of the water damage. Ill be 8 hours away from the wife and i dont want to drive that in a gas guzzler. Thanks again for all your input. Ill keep you posted on what I decide.
  3. well another pathy would definately be good.. but the wife doesnt think so. She loves goin muddin with me and driving and she hated driving the pathy.. I dunno why.. the dimensions were perfect. Im actually considering getting another only 2 door this time and dropping one of those terrano diesles in it. My buddy had an old patrol body.. that would kick a$$ to get something under it. I dunno im so confused without the pathy. its scary.. thanks for the boat joke Ill remember that.... as i said before im a little uneasy about the i-5 thing chevy has goin on. besides those things are ugly.. i dont like the styling. I think my wife is gonna be set in stone.. im chippin away for another pathy.. hopefully the diesel thing will work. The dealership i used to work for will import one for me. I know the owner so i wont get raped on the price or anything. my back yard mechanic buddy jim bob will put it in. (jimmy) im guessing id need lots of new stuff.. electrical, and ok everything.. i never though of life without the pathy i cant think straight :sniff: :sniff:
  4. I used to work for a dealership that had Honda Mazda and Nissan. Ill never own a honda suv or truck. I dont do a lot of wheeling but when I do I dont mess around. I like to get dirty and deep in mud. Ive entered into several hill climbs. Plus I will return to the north when I get out of the navy where a lot more mountanous trails are. There isnt much here for hills or anything. I guess I could climb the rubble at my apt complex. But thats about the extent of it. Hell there plenty of mud now. I just dont want to see a great trail and have to drive past cus I drive a crappy suv. Thats why I liked the pathy. It wasnt good on gas either. I can live with gas costs it doesn bother me. The military pays enough. kinda...
  5. Im not too hot on the engines that have only been out a few years. Id rather stick with something thats been around long enough to have the kinks worked out. My reason for the Jeep. That 4 litre has been there for 25 years. But it is a though. My wife hated the pathy, but I like it. She didnt fair too well in it when she drove it off road. She used to have a jeep and loved it. and swears by it. Ive seen a lot of jeeps do a lot of amazing things. plus there are 58 millions parts and accessories for them.. The only way Id buy something older is if I could get a nice ZR2 s10.. I like those a lot.
  6. Okay this sucks. Im in the navy so I had to leave my pathy on base when we left to escape the hurricane. It went at least ten feet underwater. so now I have to figure out what I want to replace it. I know Ill never fully replace it but I need something almost as good. What do you guys and gals think about 2005 Jeep Rubicon.. ? The extended one. I like there off road stuff. But I dont know anything about the Jeep line. I spittin between that and an 05 Ford Ranger or Nissan Frontier. Im looking for whats more practical. I dont do as much off roadin now that im married but I still want to have the capability. I want my pathfinder back :sniff: :sniff:
  7. mine is located on the center console on the driver side of the e-brake. on passenger side is switch for fog lights... I removed those cus i kept hitting them while exploring. I put some aftermarket ones on and tried to wire them to the same switch but they didnt work. Im gonna get one of those switchboards from an old schoolbus and wire my light up to it. I will eventually be able to use the whole board. not sure what yet??!?!?!?!
  8. i have to use super cus i get what the guys at my old shop called spark knocks.. its dam near 2.67 in gulfport mississippi
  9. Ive the darker blue i think its the metallic one.. i dunno I like it. speaking of paint how much would a new paint be. and what is too much.. ?
  10. thanks for all you help I guess i know not to do that anymore.. I think ill employ the 58 point turn,, thanks again
  11. i know for a fact that the 4x4 disengages otherwise my highway driving would be hellacious.. That and i know my truck that well i can feel the difference in the ride.. and it is only in 4x4 in reverse that this occurs
  12. I tried to get them resized I dont know if i did it correctly so i am just posting a couple of trail pics to find out
  13. I have stumped several mechanics back home with this. I went muddin one day as usual. everything went great no gettin stuck or crap like that. didnt do anything to extreme. however there is one area of the trail that you have to turn around on and start heading back (unless you are driving bigfoot) the old owner dug an 8 foot hole there and when the city or whatever took it over some smart person drove theretruck unwittingly into it. so now all you see is a stripped down what appears to be 80s s10 or 15. anyway on to the problems. as i was turning around i had the wheel cranked almost all the way. and i thought i might have been sticking in mud or small hole. but it felt like i was trying to drive with the ebrake on. I test this after thoroughly cleaning and visually inspecting, and it still does it on dry pavement. it does do it no matter which way wheel is cranked and is only evident when wheel is close to the limit or at it I dont believe its the ebrake because it has no sign of this when driving forward. so if anyone has any ideas on what i can do let me know please..
  14. I have a dream. Its to put a bench seat in the font . I like the bench seats from older hardbodies but i have no clue onthe dimensions. I would go out and measure myself but Im deployed right now and there are no salvage yards in the area with nissans. at least not that old. I have a 92 pathy 5 speed. with the center console and ebrake. I thought I remembered seeing in some old import trucksthe ebrake still being therewith a little split in the bench for it to be used. I dontreally use mine anyway i just put it in gear, feels much safer that way. If any of you have any insight on this idea I would love to hear about it. However since we could be getting underway would you please be able to email any suggestions at jonesj@groves.navy.mil I should be hitting some ports that should have a lot of older nissans still on the road. If you could let me know something that would be great. also if i ordered a new tranny and vg30e engine to be installed in my truck anyoneknow what the total price of something like that would be. Id rather get a loan for 10k and fix my truck then buy a new one. this truck will be with me till the day i die. thanks ladies and gents ITSA Jones
