  1. All 3.0, aside from a few rare ones, all 87-89 are TBI 2dr, and all 90-95 are MPI 4dr (in the USA Tex ). A lot of people whine about the TBIs, but about the only big difference I notice between the engines is throttle responce.
  2. The filler with the fiberglass bits in it doesn't leave a completely smooth finish, but it is less likely to develop stress cracks later. It is also harder to sand as the fibers of glass dull the paper quickly. I usually use NAPA brand filler, it mixes to a smoother consistancy and doesn't set up quite as fast.
  3. Owner's manual lists 3500lbs with 350lbs tongue max.
  4. Wow, who would have thought 31s would meaqsure over 30" ?
  5. Yep, but some places won't even attach the pods to the rear wheels , so they get the front end in spec, but you end up with a dog trackin' truck.
  6. If you swapped to an E-fan and removed the AC condenser, you would probably have enough space to leave it in front of the engine. I have about 4"-5" of space between the pulleys and the e-fan on mine.
  7. He is making a snub nose.
  8. Nope, that is how they are made, a lot of people have had to do the "shock mod" to them.
  9. I thought you were shortening the rear?
  10. Need, no. I would say anything under 4" of rear lift is fine without relocation (my opinion).
  11. Lookin good so far! What is your plan for the gas tank?
  12. Hell, some tuners use water injection. It is all about quantity and consistency, the injection systems atomize it so it mixes better (just like fuel injectors), and send what equates to a couple drops in. You suck up a teaspoon full of liquid water and you are going to change the compression ratio, and hurt things.
  13. I've seen a few done on the 93 and older models. I know one Xterra owner who had a hell of a time getting one that would read the speed sensor signal properly.
  14. Is it a high iron stainless? How do you plan to attach it? Some grades will weld to mild steel, some won't.
  15. My opinion, the best tires for good tread life and good traction (all around) are BFGs. They aren't "budget" tires though, but they will last. For "cheap" tires, might try Generals, they used to be terrible, but I have seen a lot higher opinions of the newer ones on the market.
  16. Yeah, unless you are maxed out on lift and running ultra-thin bumpstops, you are probably fine without that. Otherwise, the offset might save some CVs.
  17. How steep? I tried running my 93 up a near verticle hill once and the engine cut out just before I hit the top, and I had a nearly full tank. Never had any issues otherwise, so I never dug into it.
  18. What a real life chop like that looks like:
  19. Yeah, I plan to put an interior cage in mine after the chop-top, not from the removal of structure, but for the fact I think I will be more "playfull" with the truck afterward.
  20. No, that would cause a pull to the left or right. The list of things Adam pointed out would be possible causes. A bent rim, or out of balance tire would be the main cause for a shimmy/shake at a certain speed. One other part/cause he left out is worn wheel bearings.
  21. Good find, but this thread needs a sunglasses warning, damn blinding chrome!
  22. Most of the dash part of the harness should be there, but unless you have power locks now, it is going to be a lot of swapping parts there.
  23. Search the board a bit, there is a quite long involved thread on cup holders already. Same goes for the intake.
