PA and NY have emissions testing in certain areas, maybe it was a dealer install thing, they added them as needed.

Double check under the throttle body, mine split right behind the clamp on the bottom, you couldn't see it or feel it, but if you moved the tube you could feel the gap open up.

Because a 79 Civic weighs 25 lbs, like that puts stress on a steering system.

Changing front brakes on a 1995 4x4 Pathy

The hardest part of drums is getting some of the springs into the right locations. -
I like the color you chose! Those would look good on my 88!

Yeah, basically just remove the air pump (AIV), all it realy does is pump air into the cat to mix with the exhaust. You don't need the extra air mixing in, the VG30e doesn't have it. The AIV is what takes up the most space, and is the least usefull component.

IIRC there is an adjustment for the box, but it requires a special spanner tool.

Just to back up my post, this was the first time out for this guy's setup, basically 6" suspension lift and 35s with stock steering. This night run was his first trail he hit that wekend, and it was a fairly easy trail until a long rutted hill climb (Dutch John at URE, NC). He made it about 100ft up and came backing down looking like this: (Yes it is a Hardbody, but all the same in the steering and suspension.)

If you shake it more than twice, you're playing with it! Anyway...., yeah even with all new parts I've had some play at the wheel. I think the biggest factor is the ball joint ends being used on the center-link and tie rods, putting 2 multi-directional pivot points next to each other it allows some extra movement, even in fresh out of the box parts. That is why the main steering upgrade is a ridged centerlink.

The CVs will not last over 100ft of rugged trail with that tire size, and the steering will be shot as well.

Thought you asked about the dash.... Anyway, any WD-21/D-21 seats are interchangeable. You can even mount a D-21 bench seat in your Pathy, it will bolt right in.

There was a guy (think it might have been on 4x4parts) that made a bar and used the stock mount points (4x4 badges) to mount it. Wasn't as nice as the stock targa, but wasn't a clamp on JC Whitney special either.

If it was parked on your friend's property, in the driveway or yard, and not on the street out front then you can put a claim against the home owner's/renter's insurance for that property. When thieves did the same thing to my 93, it was parked on my lawn, I lost tools and the stereo (which was broke anyway, lol). Filed a claim and got about 75% the cost of what I lost back. I'm with B also, you're better off without the subs.

x2 What I plan to do on my 88, there isn't much rocker left on it at all between rust and smashing them on rocks. On my 93 I just broke some sheet metal to match the contour of the rocker and welded it in. I didn't need to make it to pretty as I slather the rockers in Herculiner.

The wiring is there for the map and footwell lights, I have added both to my 93. FYI, you need to get the parts from a 93 or older for the footwell lights, they changed the connector style on the 94/95s. If you did get one from a 94/95 you could just cut the wires before the connector and then splice them in your's. Word of advise, if any of your door pins are bad you will want to fix them, there is no "off" switch for the footwell lights, they come on no matter what if any door is open (or not completely shut). I've woke up to a dead battery because one of the doors wasn't completely closed and the footwell lights were on all night.

I think the 80s grills were much better looking with the metal mesh.

As for it sitting, just throw some fuel stabilizer in the tank and it should stay OK.

I've had a bend lower for a few years now, hasn't effected anything.

They make (or made)long arms, for 2wds, IIRC it was a Total Chaos kit.

The general rule, and what most of us with the VGs have learned, is if you have to do the timing belt, replace everything that you would have to pull the timing belt to service while you are at it.

I second the rag joint, after my body lift mine rag joint was causing a bind similar to what you are describing.

Those tires look so tiny?

Hardest part of a dash swap is the gauge pod and wiring. They changed the pod and connectors in 90, and again in 94. Also in 94 they went to electronic speedo, so you need to swap the sender.

I've 3 wheeled corners before, doesn't do it so bad with the sway bar disconnected.

When compared to what was standard and available then, it's no lie.
