inside mods?

I was just curious as to what you guys have added to the interiors of your rigs to make em more suitable for what you have the truck for....... I wish I could post pics but I am about as computer literate as snoop dog at a spelling bee for archaeology. So heres my list, mind you all of my installs are discreet and professional as I am an auto tech and perfectionist and conveince minded person.

1000 watt power inverter mounted in the rear compartment.

midland 1001 cb mounted just below the custom sony head unit.

also have an external speak for the cb hidden

4 D cell mag light mounted to the headliner just behind the dome light (all color matched)

hidden handgun pocket beside the center console

full custom stereo with two 12's (rockford)

Power distribution grid in the cargo area for any dc current needed things

custom box that holds tools, spare parts. etc... that is easily removed and light weight.

 

future plans. racks that will hold spare cargo, guns, or other items that need to be tucked away. Full tint job just to keep cool in the summer and avoid some prying eyes. hidden air compressor and working on a first aid kit that will be integrated like the newer Xtterra's. Also working a compartment for a 72 hour kit just in case something ever happens while I am out in the wild or need to be on the road immediately.

Yeah, um, lets see...

 

-One FUBAR'd steering wheel cover thingy (that plastic crap behind the wheel)

-No gove box (stupid broken latch)

-One ruined headliner (PO smoked)

-2 15" subs and some boston speakers (my bro threw it in there for giggles, its coming out when somebody wants to buy it or when I lift it)

-broken center console (stupid cheap hard plastic)

Converted LED dome light (not a replacement LED bulb, I soldered about 13 8K LED's in there myself)

Previous Owner

 

- Levo-guage over top of my trip meter ,

- awesome quality switch panel w 4 switches (one controls front Roo lights, the other three are TBD, but prob a set of rear back up lights, a set of side lights, and a master switch for my inverter so that I can hide it away better)

- Same broken column surround as prev poster

- an old sony deck (worked, but pretty basic)

- old no-name amp that actually drove my 10" sub pretty good

- broken center console.

 

Since I bought it:

- Rockford Fosgate headunit and 8 disc changer, with aux input, outputs, video control, etc.

- matched 2 ch (sub) and 4 ch (speakers) pioneer amps

- 10" sub and box

- PS2

- 7" widescreen

- inverter to power PS2, and other goodies when required

- full home made console, amp rack, and dash center to accommodate Entertainment equipment

- removed rear carpet and laid down rubber matting (until I rhinoline the entire interior)

- 2 drawer add-a-drawer top chest (goes between top chest and bottom cabinet usually) with full set of tools

- 5% tint on rear 5 windows, 50% on front

 

 

Thats it. I plan on redoing the console and dash and stereo set up. Right now, if I get into more than 3' of water, I'll fry my electrical, so after the SAS, I'll do a computer relocate, and move all of the stereo components except the headunit to ceiling mounted locations (including a flip down mount for the monitor).

 

The headunit is where the center air vents are at the top of the dash, and if I'm that deep in water, I'll probably be having to rip apart the whole truck anyways, so I'm not too worried.

 

This truck is a DD/Rig, and while my GF doesn't like wheeling, she does like camping, so if it's a long drive or a Poopy night to sit by a campfire, we can always toss in a DVD or play some video games. Plus it's the factor when someone see's a PS2 in a wheeling rig.

lets see...on my 87

 

fixing to go in:

95 dash, seats, possibly a diamond plate floor(not putting carpet back in),cb installed in dash and a custom headliner seen below with 4 3.5 speakers in a homemade box and the dropped down interior light...some guages (going to work on some a pillar guages)...also going to put the bracket in for the rear hatch ceiling speakers)

 

my 95:

cb installed in dash

covereed the divide piece from front and rear ceiling with american flag pattern

cut out rear carpet (had some stinky sticky crap melted in it and it broke the carpet down) and going to weld in some salvaged flooring from wheelmans pathy to make a consistant "truck bed" and then rhino line it

If you have pictures and can atleast e-mail them it would be great... that is exactly what I plan on doing with the inverter I have in my garage right now.

Although I have an install plan I would not mind seeing what someone else did as well.

I'll just go over the 93's mods;

 

-Added map lights, foot well lights, ash tray and cig lighter lights from a 93 SE.

-2 guage cluster between the steering wheel and center console (tranny and volt).

-GPS mount above driver's left vent

-Toyota 4Runner altimeter/ level guage, center top of dash.

-Red (fadded to orange now) Grant steering wheel.

-Red and Black pedal covers (actually usefull, my foot kept slipping off the gas before).

-Painted center dash bezel and door speaker grills Aztec Red like exterior.

-Red light conversion in guage cluster.

-Red light gels added in temp controls, and dome lights.

-Mini Mag mounted by auto shifter

-D cell Mag lite mounted on passenger side "D' pillar (by hatch).

-12V outlet mounted in the plastic under the Mag.

 

Not quite interior, but close; upgraded to power heated mirrors.

 

Stereo: Sony Xplode CD head, tweeters in front are Rockford Fosgate, and repositioned at top of B pillars, front door speakers are Pyle 5x7, rear speakers are Eclipse 5x7 with stock tweets.

Forgot the Extinguisher mounted under the inside spare, and my remote for the stero is there also.

 

I also have an inverter and air compressor but I keep them loose so I can use them where I need them.

I thought about adding a shelf in mine like that, but it would hang too low if I put it in the rear like that (speakers in the roof), and be a headache to a rear passenger if I went in front of the speakers.

Let's see...

- Maxima seats (more side bolstering, more lumbar, multi adjustable)

- Grant steering wheel 'cause the cover on the old would twist

- Switches to control electric fan and extra lighting

- Nice Stereo (Alpine, Polk, PPI, Clarion, etc) with XM radio

- Very HD sub enclosure with mounts for hi-lift jack

- CB

- More and heavier duty 12 Volt outlets and terminals to power spotlight, hi volume compressor, etc.

- Solar charger in side window to keep battery topped off when sitting.

- Pretty serious FA kit in ammo box

- Lots of tools and spares (just in case). Need to mount these more securely.

- Serious power wires (dual 4 AWG welding cables) and terminals in rear so I can use winch on the rear.

 

And several tie down straps to secure cargo when off-roading! Need more tie down points, though....
