:o d'oh! that sux! how old were the pads? can't the manufacturer be held responsible for that damage?
-
who stole my pathy and put that bumper on? it's bad assssssssss   unfortunately when i woke up the bumper was gone...... musta been someone elses pathy then :sniff: i like square tubing.. just because our trucks are kind of square and i like the look of it.. BUT... depending on design this may not be a wise option as square tubing is harder to work with/bend......

i was using champion plugs.. my S-10 loved them.. pathy HATED them... now using NGK and she LOVES them. I use 10w-40 Valvoline Max Life with a bottle of restore as well. i live in CA and in my area it can go from 110 degrees down to 27 degrees in the course of a week

88... i am having the belt whirrping noise you speak of.. BUT... i checked and rechecked the belt and can turn it almost 1/2 way....... i did my last belt the same way and it came off perfect after 3,000 miles.. but this noise is not customary to my pathy (not this loud.. tho it is audible it is not LOUD)... could i still have it too tight?

are you talking about the 2 bolts up top that hold the starter and the plate it goes through? or the 1 bolt that is down the side of the starter between the bell housing and oil pan? it should be bolted in from the tranny side of that plate that holds the starter. i didn't use anything but a socket with extension and a wrence to remove my starter.... mind you... i am fortunate enuff to have long skinny hands... easier to get in small places
-
indeed. be careful. glad everyone was all right... but now time to play "lets sue the guy who hit me for lots n lots of money" game........ it's a terrible game

i almost wet myself!!! rolmfao!!!!! anyhoo.. that just means the seal is OEM or whatever.. bust it off n carry on. yes..the dist has to come out before the LH valve cover can be removed. remember to mark both the dist and the base plate it comes out of for easier install

the count is as follows: from cam to cam: 40 teeth from LH (driver side) cam to Crank sprocket: 43 teeth

if it has too much oil.. try to drain it into a clean pan then put the correct amount in your truck.. or better still.. take it back to teh numbnutz who did it and tell them to get it right. these aren't 6 quart chevys....
