  1. i have to take off to try n get my new motor dropped in today... i will check back in from time to time to see how you're doing with yours
  2. sssh just an afterthought.. i know it would USUALLY backfire.. but are all the spark plug wires attached snug and in the right places? :confused:

  5. also.. please.. do tell.. how have you fried so many motors? if it is hydrolocking.. did the ecu get wet?
  6. while yer checking those.. play with the dist a little bit.. if the timing is out it may not allow it to start.. couldn't hurt
  7. sssh also.. was the distributor with the motor when you got it or is it your own dist?
  8. have you checked to see if the fuel lines may be backwards.. it's a long shot but known to happen....
  9. yeah.. tried the back button and it said "page can not be displayed" hit refresh and ... well.... i deleted my unrelevant post above.
  10. sssh very interesting. so. fuel pressure. check. spark. check. vaccum lines. check. could the ecu possibly be malfunctioning? what year pathy?
  11. was everything at TDC when you installed it? i don't know how much "stuff" the motor came with is why i am asking....
  12. well.. i just posted a reply n it said this topic was locked... oh.. so now i have to rewrite this whole shabang again.. umph. ok.. did you check the distributor to make sure it's dead on? have you checked for a bad ground or loose vaccum line? sure all connections are clean and attached? fuel filter blocked? i know i'll think of more.. but that'll do for now.. you say you have spark? and it turns over strong?
  13. yes. don't lose faith. i have spare heads as well (i want K9's..hehehe) I also have a t-belt with 3,000 miles on it if you want it "just to try it out"............

  17. i don't know about the pipe mod as i have a 5 speed tranny, but the oil filter relocation kit is a godsend! it is well worth the $48 and easy to install. :bow:

    hey now..... i was fortunate enuff that y jeep was extremely reliable.. more than i can say for the pathy i have had HALF the time...... and i beat the ever lovin snot outta my jeep every chance i got.. she refused to die. my pathy is more of a sissy....... but she will be brought up to speed after teh new motor is installed

  22. i never had any issues with my thorley gaskets.. btu there again.. when i put them in last year.. they are out again now.. soooooo .. they lasted perfectly fine for a whole year....

  24. eh.. cruel bastids. welp.. i will prolly still want them.. just need to save up the acsh for em first.. so save me the cam sprockets and the heads.. and that juicy FI rail you have.. hehehe.... UPDATE: here she is as of today.. ran out of daylight puttin the FI rail back on. Should be able to get her back in the pathy tomorrow or thurs at the lates (dave has some runnin round to do tomorrow).... NOTE: If you have no way to hold your cam sprocket still while torquing down..... there here's whatcha do. 1. Grab old t-belt and attach to sprocket you are torqing 2. use small hose clamp to hold belt together 3. find frined/bf/wife/whatever to hold said belt while you torque the sucker down worked like a charm for us -bounce-
