  1. LOL, I know the feeling, and I'm pretty much the same way. I've 'helped' smog techs check my car right before, etc... A few tears eh ? GLAD you did it now !! Congrats on the peace of mind, now go have fun !! B
  2. Coil eh ? Blah, hope not... Thanks 'rilla !! That saved me some homework. Much appreciated ! I haven't messed with it yet, maybe not till tomorrow. It would have to be the top most unit, that thing is a PITA to even see, much less do anything with !! I check wires and connections first. B
  3. Well, I WILL give the guy a point or two for writing back and conceding that you have valid points AND not being a jerk about it, BUT I subtract several dozen points because he proved himself to be a misrepresenting sensationalist. You should ask him to post your letter and his reply as is on his site. Won't happen. I think this guy is just trying to cash in on this somehow... Defifitely an A$$ in my book. B
  4. Ditto, I gained an easy 2"+. That helps some with ground clearance (other than axle) flex and stiffer suspension (you cant wheel if you wallow like a pig). I haven't done any real wheeling, but I don't forsee any issues, and many people run like that without complaints. To me it's just a cheap, easy suspension lift/stiffener. Body lift only raises the body off of the frame. It may help with flex, but your suspension will still be mush. Most effective for mud bogging and water crossings as it will help prevent flooding the cab. May save rocker panel damaage, etc Both raise the CG so it will handle differently. Remember, it's a truck so drive it like one... B
  5. Denatured fish oil, a hand pump/sprayer, long nossle, patience and prayer. It actually works well !! Seen any fish with rust ?? B
  6. Ok from what I can determine briefly, the nudge bar (as V6 calls it) is synonymous with safari bar which only covers the center, but Westin sells a bull bar that is the same while ARB's bull bar covers the entire grill. What does that mean ?? I'm not sure, but it seems like V6's definitions are a better discription. What it boils down to is that the terminology, even used by companies is different so make sure you are certain about an under/center guard (safari as I know it) or an entire front face protector (bull bar ?) before you order or you may be disappointed... B
  7. LMAO !! I guess, I wasn't looking at the underwear... B
  8. Ok, I get it, but the poll is opinion based, and yes, means nothing. I can see people who like the WD21's better but dont want a vehicle 10 years old with 100k+ on them buying an R50. Even if I loved the 05 Pathy, I still be driving a WD21 ($). It's just a preference on body style poll, not which is better... I shut up and go away now... B
  9. Funny that you have that nailed down so well... Want a link to my web site ?? B
  10. Hey now Mr. Kettle Black, I seem to remember seeing your butt in a pair of red tighties, and you posted the pict... I don't think you want to get into who's is more attractive, regardless of sexual preference or liquor consumption !! B
  11. Rightieo... Tomorrow I look for/at the vehicle sensor speed thingie and any connections (I'm sure I had it apart when I pulled the tranny last year) and will see if the speedo needle has deformed. It has been hot here and the truck not driven much so it sits with the windows up... I'll chime back in tomorrow. I really should study electronics; I'm not an idiot, just never really needed to mess with things. Any suggested reading ? B
  12. I thought that was a bull or safari bar. Neva hoid of a nudge bar... What is the difference ? B
  13. Hey they are not all that different than briefs and come in nicer materials... Now thongs and lace; I don't go there... Who wants a visual ??? Personally I like the X's. Of body styles (and the fact they have frames) if I could buy a new vehicle, that's probably be it.... B
  14. LMAO Red, you just cant win. I voted accordingly to the poll options. As for 'who cares', my useless opinion is that there are 3 to 5 different pathfinders, all with different body styles, builds, motors, etc. To buy one is not to buy them all. It's ok to prefer one to the other. Cripes, its called preference and everyone is entitled to their own. B
  15. Um, good point, I didn't consider the cost... Then I should probably get manual hubs also.... Well, with no job, it's going to have to wait... V6, the whole point to a thread is different opinions. I can't believe that you expected everyone to agree with you ! As for reading, no, not everyone does, here or else where. Sorry, no fix for that... Personally, I have found all of this informative and food for thought. Yes, it wanders a bit, but threads all do somewhat. As for seperating posts, I'll gladly do that, but will wait for a request from the topic's author. Only seems right to me. I believe the topic is "1 locker, front or rear" ? Lets see where it goes... B
  16. Drove the truck 25 miles, everything is fine. I get on the freeway, run the gears, wait 2 minutes and I'm at 3000 rpm, 5th gear. This is about 68-70 with 31" tires. I do that habitual speedo glance and it says 20 mph. WTF ?? All other gauges are fine and the odometer works. I watch it for a bit as it drops slowly to 5 mph, then slowly wavers between 5 and 15 mph. I had the stereo cranked, and killed it to see if it was some sort of power draw issue. No difference. Truck runs fine. About 3 miles later, it snaps up to 65 and indicates variances fine. Stop at the store, restart and go home, it works fine. Wierd !! Anyone ever see this ? I can understand total failure (o mph) and even it working again, but to read low and waver has me confused. No, I haven't done any homework/searches yet; I hoping someone can give me a place to start. I'm far better with mechanics than electrons. Any ideas folks ? Thanks... B
  17. And no frame.... Look this is just a poll to see if people like the looks. You think so, vote yes... I think your panties are bunching up... No, Pathfinders are not all the same ! 2 door and 4 door WD21's are different. R50 is totally different. The new 2005 is completely different. It is possible to like one and not the other due to the VAST differences. Yes, they are still Nissans and that definitely counts for something ! Sheesh. B
  18. How about both ? I just want to see what available and for how much, both here and down under... Thanks ! B
  19. My manual states 30,000 miles and I have known people to run them longer. Spending a little bit more for 'premium' plugs is worth it to me and they can last longer. B
  20. If you lost an exhaust hanger, sometimes it can ground out on the frame/body somewhere and make noise like that. Trace the exhaust and see if anything is close to touching. B
  21. Ouch... My guess it's the passenger side from crowned roads and the slushie on the shoulder... Thats on the 2 door, right ?? Well, at least you know how to weld; you going to get busy with some plates ? I'll write up a rust protection/treatment article tonight, you may find it helpful. Good luck with that ! B
  22. Definitily nicely done !!! What really excites me is that the guy is in Rhonert Park, 10 miles away !! I just drove through there 1 hour ago. I'm going to stop by next week and say Hi !! B
  23. Cool thats a good one TWM !! Ok, last chance to chime in before I move it to the the Tech section. Not like it will be locked or anything... B
  24. There's always the jerk element... B
  25. GG, you have never had an issue with anyone snipping the zip ties to take your plate for the registration sticker ? I've had a$$jacks steal my plate before, and they had to unbolt it... B
