Agreed, but then it comes down to how much excess $ you have and where you want to put it, not to mention how many other projects you have... For me, looks and trim come after suspension and front end upgrades... To each their own. B

Yeah, I figured that... Nothing quite like a friendly fight... B

I believe the cold water trick is more for removing carbon deposits in the cylinders and on the top of pistons not to mention I think it is only for carburated vehicles; I'm not sure what water does to injectors.... The carb cleaner will definitely work, helping flush down the air intake, but will put all of it through the motor. I doubt it is doing any harm where it is and would leave it alone myself. Wait till you polish it to clean it is my suggestion. Rather just buy some good injector cleaner like Redline. Anyway, good luck... B

I'm assuming the printed one is the one with the tire, yes ? If not what is the difference ? I'll place my order through PM as soon as I understand... B

Maybe he was in a hurry ?? B

Nope, someone else made one in the last 6 months, I'll see if I can find it tomorrow... B

Maximusnt. Welcome to Vsicks Pathy ! And the board of course... B

You wont hurt the engine, but you can damage other things (hoses, wires, etc) and get water where you dont want it like distrubutor or intake. Hot manifolds, etc dont like to be cooled rapidly either. Personally, I don't do it. Some people dont think twice and dont seem to have problems, but I prefer not to. A spray nozzle on a garden hose and some simple green is about as far as I go. B

Well put V6, and from what I know, I agree... Damn, I was wondering how long it would take for them figure the 'Not remotely stock' part out ! LOL, thats why I stayed out of it.... Good fight though ! I wish we had Patrols, I'd either buy one or do the same SAS. With my damaged front end it will cost at least 1/2 of the $ for SAS to fix... Not real income now, so I just have to wait. B

The rubber ones seem like a nice option as opposed to trimming the stock ones. Hey V6, could you post a couple of picts specifically of them for us ??? Please ??? Thanks Bud ! B

Hey Pezzy, if it is the same brackets give you trouble, chase the tapped holes and wire wheel the knob threads. If its different ones each time, mount all of them barely snug first, then tighten them all down... B

That was one of my questions... What is the cold cranking amps of your battery. How old is it ? Summer and winter will be different. Whats the recharge rate of your system ? Last question, 45ma per what, an hour ? Once you know that unit, then wouldn't it be simple devision after subtracting 150-200 amps to crank the motor ? My guess off hand having had cars with constant draw before, with a good battery 3-4 days you shouldn't even notice. 1 week the car should still crank although maybe slower. Any more than that... Sorry but I'm not an EE, just going off of similiar experiences. How often do you drive it ? B
-
Yow, is that what they cost ??? I'll pull any set it see in a junkyard considering how they can be damaged off road... B

I have 2" out the back of the CAT on my 95xe and from the looks of it, its stock. B

:cool2: Just wanted to make sure Bud... B

I once saw a baja bug that the guy must have done doughnuts in brown paint... Looked pretty cool actually... Doh !! You must have relocated or waterproofed your ECU ?? If not, be careful with water inside !! B

I'm thinking more like a Subaru Outback with glandular issues... For the record, I voted "Who cares...". The WD21s can be pretty cool, but generally with the help of aftermarket parts. I care far more about ability/reliability which is why I bought one after a lot of research. It is a truck, I will have it a long time, it will get dirty, dented, go unwashed, take me were I want to go, and I love her for it... B
-
Look at the diameter of your stock intake into the air box... Thats the minimum desired diameter (I'd go a little larger). As for the head, I don't know... It actually will function somewhat like a cold air intake, boosting performance slightly. Someone here made one like you mentioned and it wasn't half bad. They'll chime in, but try search first, I'm sure it's findable... B
-
True, thank God ! See, this poll is about Pathfinders (you know, with Frames...) not plastic coated mall cruisers, grocery getters and mail jeeps... Sorry, we'll set one up for you... B

IFS=independent front suspension, as opposed to an SA=solid axle. Looks like a lot of fun Bud, thanks for posting that !! What tires are you running ? They seem to do a good job in the sloppy stuff. B
-
Yes, thats the easy way, but it washes everything through the valves, cylinders and cat. Not the best if it's roadgrit and fine particulate. Also, he wants to port it which never hurts if done well. I have not done it myself on a Pathy so I cant help there, but I know there are some threads on it here... B

Yes dragin, the last pict was not a print, but thats easily done. Let me know if you want a set. I don't need a drop mount, just drew it up as an exercise and to help people here. It would probably be easier and cheaper to make out of welded segments. 88 fabbed up one thats remarkably similiar. Nice to have another machinist on board. ] I think most of are, and its a never ending task... I hear what you are saying about people not listening, even if its just friendly advice; seen it most my life. Sounds like you are learning and have all the help you need through your dad. Good luck with the raise, and keep pushing ! B

Tire wear and pressure could have something to do with it, but I would check all the bushings, especially the pan hard rod's. Unfortunately, some of the bushings are hard to check without disassembly/removing them. I'm sure others will have additional suggestions, but I fear you have a sloppy rear end my friend... How many miles on the vehicle ? Do you live in salt country ?? Hows the front end also, that can magnify things also. Congrats on the camping trip. I've been on a few like that and cherish them as life memories. B

I'm not sure I'd be after any chicks who like that... Looks like a ricer interior... To each their own though... B

Great picts Pezzy, thanks for posting them !! Hmm, I can see why you lost the alternator !! Holy ramming speed Batman !! Is there a snorkel on the X, if not, be glad it was ONLY the alternator... B
